I was wondering, were you a bit nervous? just watched Mr Price's video before yours, he looks more confortable, maybe you should drink mint tea instead of coffee :P The content is nice, watching your tutos helps to put the magic in a render, thanks a lot for your input.
You're right, I was nervous in fact :) At the same time, enjoyed being on stage. I think I need waaay more practice in public speaking. It freaks me out )
Gleb Alexandrov you already archived so much man, people believe in you, no reason to be nervous, you did great and looked more relaxed at the end, next talk will be big badaboum. Greets & respect from Belgium. Bart
Gleb Alexandrov Maybe more rendering examples? Sometimes they look too good, I wonder if you can display some bad renderings. And the improved ones. Also... good rendering is not always about realism, but I understand that realism is big in CG. on the other side of the realms, we got non realistic render. Which can be more cheating actually.
Great as always. I love the Lighting Hacks Course, I bought it immediately after the release and it's not only full of great ideas, it's also really inspiring and motivating. When will the space course be available?
Woah, you're too kind :) More info on the space course coming soon, so stay tuned! We're working on it with Aidy Burrows from CgMasters. It will be amazing :)
Gleb, you and Andrew Price are the biggest inspiration and the best teachers a Blender artist could wish for... Keep doing what you do, much love from Serbia!
This is great and something really important to remember since sometimes you can get too caught up trying to do the "right" technique over what works and looks great for your particular project.
The Art of Cheating, by Gleb Alexandrov? Very well done mate, the presentation was really enjoyable! You are an awesome boy!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!
I am a big fan of Gleb Alexandrov work! Pretty excited to watch this video and surely learned from it! As note, he seemed quite nervous but I totally understand it. I think he managed very well the situation and I'd be amazed if had the opportunity to meet any of his speeches! Hope he does more of these. Thanks for sharing such a precious tips to become a better artist! Also the ''Cheat like an artist'' was funny, actually. I always felt that to be a professional artist you must be original and make your own thing from scratch and stuff. That's a lot of pressure, isn't it? In this way it motivates more people to keep discovering different styles of art and creative expression ways!
I loved this video , i think cheat is a very strong word , normally used in a very negative way, I think you are very creative and I think that is the best thing about being creative its about solving problems in a non linear way.
Actually. Now a lot of renderers tend to cheat in some ways with light. Particularly caustics. But on blender, if you want caustics easily and if you want that they look good from the get go. You can use the free plugin called PBR material (v3.0 at the time).
These are all great hacks and advice for still imagery. Yet, these juts don't seem to cut it when it comes to animated scenes. Like, what is one to do if he/she has a rolling glass on a table lit by intense light? What to do about that with Cycles?
I know a great painter who cheat by doing all his shadows by hand. If the software is doing a poor job at something, should someone fix it instead of doing a conference explaining how to go around the problem? Otherwise why do we need a software at the first place?
Guys, feel free to share your thoughts about the talk. What is the weekest/strongest part of it? What needs to be improved?

Gleb Alexandrov btw I liked very much this funny touch at the end to NOT visit your website :D
Aaaaaaa!
Coffee is your drug!
Great as always. I love the Lighting Hacks Course, I bought it immediately after the release and it's not only full of great ideas, it's also really inspiring and motivating.
When will the space course be available?
I need this button ha ha ha

Shawn, thanks. That's what I think too.
Gleb is a hardworking magicians.... 🎩
This is the most useful CGI's video I've ever seen. BIG Thanks Gleb
Everytime I hear Gleb speak, it seems like I learn something.
I love how this is "brought to you by AMD" yet I'm forced to get a Nvidia GPU for rendering due to AMD performance in Cycles being abysmal.
How so? I've never had issues with AMD
And that's why Blender is now sponsored by AMD.
Actually AMD beats Nvidia in blender. RX 580 performs better than a GTX 1070 and RX vega beats all of them Nvidia cards.
@@Pixel_FX what about 3090
@@amogsussy 3090 beats 6900XT. But dont have data about how 6900XT does with RadeoPro Renderer using RA cores.

That was a great presentation! Thank you, Gleb!
I just love the artistic touch, after all, thinking outside the box has always been a plus. No more rules, let's focus on results! 😁👍🙏🤗
we need teachers like this in college!
This was a really good video! Thanks!
Hey Gleb - moving your hands means you are using more of your brain. Oh and thanks for all you do. Stu.
Thinking outside the box is not cheating. I love what you are doing, like you said "as long as it looks right.... It is right".
Work smarter, not harder. I like it! Out of the box thinking
Great work Gleb.
Great video Gleb, thanks
How many hacks can I use without restricting my camera movement?
I loved this video , i think cheat is a very strong word , normally used in a very negative way, I think you are very creative and I think that is the best thing about being creative its about solving problems in a non linear way.
Damn Gleb you are a great speaker!!
This was great
This is so good!!

I follow your work... BRAVO!
Physically correct = Realistic. Literally :) Anyway the techniques are very usefull to know. Congratulations.
Simply no
it's nice to listen this dude :)

WOW so good!
That was very enjoyable, when when the puns failed to land =D
Gleb you make too much joke, i love that!
so cool man
soooo gooood!!!
Gleb alexander my master❤️❤️
for caustics one could also just use a render engine capable of producing them, like LuxRender.

Глеб, отличная речь!
7 years later there's a button you can hit to make realistic using stable diffusion.
Learn Public Speaking with this video and other 3D artists. :)
GLEB!

ayo glebbbbb
replacement keyboard.... LOL when I was 13 I was sitting in blender all the night... Because my dad game my just one hour of work in the day.
Oh that was tough :D
Does anyone know the photometry software he references?
Go and check his (Gleb Alexandrov's) videos (tutorials), and it's photogrammetry I think.
Thanks bro :)
I believe is photogrammetry, and I am pretty sure he uses Agisoft Photoscan, like most people do.
cheating it's not always means bad, depends view point obviously
Reality its a bit boring, thats why we isolate moments and try to make them awesome...more magical...
4:25 I clapped for Johannes!
GleBoss
I'm gonna cheat this into 3dmax, thanks blender guys :)
HE'S DIFFERENT!! *GET HIM!!!* **huge running crowd of nerds appears**
or just use luxrender
Serious business...duetche bag...F-Funny!!!
Так и хотелось прокричать: Глееб, да не волнуйся ты так!!!
my parents say same about me
1:33 seventy year old me?
99% of sellout, 1% of useful information.
Ton rocks

Blender is garbage.
Anaray Ramone Maybe in the hands of those who don't take the time to improve
The interface is pretty garbage. But if you think the software side is garbage than you're a moron.
Just like your mom...
Now what have you seen cycle x 😏😂
