I love Karnivool. Every time I watch them live I go back home mind-blown. Every single person in this band is amazing and hearing these tracks one by one is unbelievable. Thank you for this video!
Yeah this stuff is just incredible. Saying its pro just doesnt give it credit.... its a timeless masterpiece. Same with Themata..... Karnivool are among the most talented musicians on the planet
Hi. I am thinking about joining the Nail the Mix, would be fun. One question. Is this the multi tracks for march? I am not sure about your schedule...can you please clarify?
Dead Letter Circus are Aussie too. Forrester's also producing and mixing their next album, but the last Dead Letter Circus album was mixed by Chris Lord-Alge
Just discovering channel and you guys have the best prog bands. It’s really sick may consider buying this track or the meshuggah one. But the opeth ones seems interesting
'OH Stereo Mic' probably stands for the 'direct' signal form the stereo pair of OverHead mics. Then probably 'OH AB' stands form 'OverHead Ambience' mics (or Room mics). I am just speculating here though.
OH Stereo Mic is a single microphone that can record in stereo. OH AB are two microphones that use the A-B recording technique I guess. www.dpamicrophones.com/mic-university/principles-of-the-a-b-stereo-technique
5 years late but it's two different mic techniques. OH Stereo would refer to a standard overhead setup I assume, but A/B is a particular mic technique. You use two microphones set up parallel to each other facing the source. Usually 3-10 feet apart. A/B is also referred to as Spaced Pair.
"Sound Awake" is such an timeless masterpiece. Every part of the chain is frickin' good!

Disgustingly good, still think Sound Awake is among the best produced records of all time!

I remember hearing about Karnivool for the first time, MIND BLOWN
I don't know how to mix but damn do I want these isolated tracks.
That has to be the best raw rock drums + bass ever recorded. Jesus Christ and the room sound...

Always been impressed with them and Dead Letter Circus's (another similar style band, maybe Australian too) production... really hi-fi sounding.

Sorry, I am new in recording drums, whats the difference between the "OH Stereo Mic" channel and the "OH AB" channel
