16:00 Street Fighter is not a beat'em up but a fighting game. A beat'em up would be along the lines of Golden Axe, or, more fitting to the point of the video, streets of rage.
'People were starting to forget who Mickey was.' ...unless you were a comic reader. Then you would never be allowed to forget. Mickey and Goofy were THE leading men in Disney comics from the 60s through the 2000s, forever solving mysteries and foiiing criminals like inkblot and Peg-Leg Pete.
My favourite ever Disney VHS was a Halloween compilation featuring The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Donald Duck Vs The Gorilla. I adored being scared by it as a child, and it deserves a rerelease, with this added to it.
"Runaway Brain" has been one of those weird titles just stuck in my head for the last 30 years, so I'd like to thank Luke and crew for FINALLY reconnecting those neurons. No wonder I couldn't recall it!
1. It is weird that Disney execs in the 90s could not see Mickey running a business or doing regular work, since that is basically the plot of several years' worth of shorts featuring him, Donald and Goofy running any number of regular-work businesses. There was even a short called 'Mickey's Service Station'! 2. I went to see Little Mermaid in theatres (albeit in Portugal) and while I do distinctly remember a short preceding it, I'm fairly sure it was Donald's 'Lighthouse Keeping', not Roger Rabbit. 3. That woman at 40:00 would have been appalled had she seen Mickey in South Park, years later...
I remember seeing Runaway Brain and being TERRIFIED of it, to the point I thought it was a collective fever dream we all had of something we thought we saw as children but never actually existed.
What a brilliant video this is. I am loving this type of content, going deeper into things from entertainment's past. Every time though, it makes me think of AI. AI cannot create, it can only mimic things that have gone before it, all decisions are based on cold, hard data and there's no appreciation for true art. The same can be said of high level executives. Makes you wonder if AI hasn't already taken over, quietly and efficiently, without anyone noticing.
Objectively one of the greatest Mickey Mouse cartoons ever made, and the Disney company pretends it doesn't exist... yeah that's pretty much par the course for modern Disney...
Great job Luke! I love these videos. What’s next?.?.?

Really excellent work Luke and everyone! I’m a big Disney fan and there’s information in here that’s new to me. :) Thanks for your hard work!
Cutscene is becoming one of my favourite channels, keep up the great work 👍
Hell yeah Luke, glad to see you getting more time for cutscene!
I’m here for a light gun game where you play as the hunter who killed Bambi’s mum.
Has some real “Early 2000s flash game” vibes
Really enjoyable 45 minutes!

Cutscene Is #1 In My Opinion WrestleTalk Is 2nd! Keep Doing Great Work On Cutscene Luke!
The falling out between Eisner and Spielburg seems really petty.
Very interesting video. Never heard about this.

I remember this. The Dutch Donald Duck Weekly Magazine ran a mini series about this cartoon, if I recall correctly
These videos are the best
Loved the vid
Love me some cutscene content
I've always loved Runaway Brain. I made sure my kids have seen it also.
"Would Mickey really work in a gas station."
He did in one of the black and white shorts.
Kingdom Hearts does Mickey right
I remember seeing Runaway Brain and being TERRIFIED of it, to the point I thought it was a collective fever dream we all had of something we thought we saw as children but never actually existed.
Same that evil Mickey design has been in my brain for years. And I Didn't know where to place it.
@@rockassassin64 And knowing more of the history of it, I'm even more confused about when and how I saw it.

Is 22 seconds a record for Luke to get limp bizkit into a video?

It's a shame that one of the best Disney shorts is one that is so difficult to watch.
Oh my God. I saw this a kid. I really did not like it.
