For anyone who decides to do that "Hand Soap" thing and wants to sell them please remember that those types of cleaning gloves are made with latex and there are people who are very allergic to latex so if you use it and want to sell it you need to let everyone know you used latex as the mold. I am allergic to latex and if I touch something that had been made with or for some reason had been around latex for some reason I get a very horrible allergic reaction. I just thought I would put this here because not many people realize or think about this type of allergy.

RE: Watermelon Hack -- You can buy cookie cutter sets that are rings decreasing in size. They were a huge thing back in the day for cookie and pastry making. My mom has a set that's older than I am, but they still sell them far as I know.
The glove was puffing up for two reasons: 1. As the glove was getting filled with the soap, it had to expand in the container pushing the air outside the glove but trapped in the container upward; 2. The heat from the melt and pour was heating up the surrounding trapped air and causing it to expand. Also the T-handshape is appropriate for a handsoap! Since handsoaps usually go in the bathroom (T-handshape is used in the ASL sign for "bathroom")
i would imagine the watermelon would be MUCH easier working from the inside out, rather than outside in. blue tack or playdoh would probably make a better seal too

Imagine if a kid was making that watermelon soap and Mom/Dad didn't realize that were going to be pouring hot liquid soap all over the table in 3...2...1...
They say the Ivory soap has to be as new, and fresh, as you can. Old Ivory soap that has set around, won't expand. The wrapper needs to be wet and sticky to the bar. Not dry and separated.
Oh that makes sense for a few reasons. Microwaves mostly act upon water molecules, and lots of other kinds of molecules mostly ignore them. Also I think this effect is based on water turning into steam in the tiny air bubbles within the soap, expanding them, and then escaping. For both of these reasons, if you use soap that is already dry, it won't have any water to do the work.
The Ivory soap works because Ivory has lots of tiny air bubbles. It's the same reason why Ivory floats. When the air bubbles in the soap heat up they expand.
@@floramew I suspect that this trick also requires the tiny air pockets in Ivory soap (otherwise other soaps would do the same trick), and if the water got in, I guess that it would displace the air.

A crafting tip: if you need to hot glue something that needs to hold a liquid, use a very hot glue. If she had used a very melted glue it would have created a way better seal. And adding way more glue on the outside would not be a bad idea either. As for the soap cloud, I'm guessing they took several bars, cut them into smaller cubes and frankensteined them together into a rough cloud shape before putting it in the microwave. I think the bigger volume with smaller pieces has a better chance of expanding into a cool looking cloud than just one solid bar.

The reason it puffed is because the glove stretched over the rim created an airtight seal. This sealed air in the can. Great video Katie! love all your soaps~
I think the bigger volume with smaller pieces has a better chance of expanding into a cool looking cloud than just one solid bar.
i think i love her energy. it circumvents my own more "stagnant" energy. plus the freckles and marks on her face is so endearing to me. i adore her
Sometimes I think about you going "CiNNaMON?!??!!!" from the previous video and that still brings me joy, thank you
In 11 years your company can legally drink alcohol! Yay!
😂😂😂

Well, in just 6 years where I live😂
This was so much fun!! Keep doing the hacks. I love seeing your professionalism come out and it’s nice to have an actual soap at the end of your trials!

I've been getting those exact same calls! I've never even stayed in a Hilton 😅
Might have stayed at a hotel chain they own but it's most likely a scam
I just about died at the hand soap mess!!! That was the funniest thing!
Caught it at 27 seconds post uploading LETS GOOOOOOO
Woohoo!!
I love how rather than just test if they work, Katie made a point to make them work even if she didn't follow the hack video
Congrats on the success of 10 years in business! You are a true talented inspiration, happy for your continued success.
💕💕💕
I just have to say this.. you are so cheerful, happy, talented and absolutely beautiful inside and out.. you remind me of my daughter. And I just love to see others that have, well, a zest for life that brings so much joy to others. May you and your family be blessed abundantly in all you do.
That sneeze reminded me of the time you were making soap with Lily. Remember your comment, good thing we're not selling these!
For the circles on the watermelon soaps, round biscuit cutters seem like they'd be perfect? I have a set that goes from 3" diameter to 1/2", all circles
You are such a vibe it’s so awesome I enjoy your videos EVERY TIME ❤️💜💕💙
Awww thank you!!
@@RoyaltySoaps you’re welcome you’re just so inspiring!! ☺️
Yay!!! I've been waiting for this after that video!! Also, you're right when you said it went viral because I had checked not only that video but other so related videos from that channel and a bunch of the comments where people educating people on the different hacks that didn't work and they were talking about how they had seen your video :D
With the ivory soap thing, at my school we heated it for like 5 minutes and it worked really well.
You are an absolute joy to watch and I'm so thankful to have found your channel.
I’d love to see your take on how a watermelon soap could look
Your bubbly giggling over the hand soap made my night SO much better. 😁❤️
So I found you when I was pregnant and eating mixed nuts like crazy, and when you said scrappy scrappy, I instantly started craving mixed nuts! 🤣
You pavlov'd yourself 😂😂
For the cinnamon soap (not that I'll ever try it) but could you use a colour stabilizer with the fragrance and be ok?
The reason it puffed is because the glove stretched over the rim created an airtight seal. This sealed air in the can. When you began to pour into the glove as it expanded It pushed the trapped air into the sides. As the sides were ridged. It pushed the air up causing the puffage lol! 😋😋😊
Sorry I'm a nerd lmao.
