I'm so grateful that I get to occasionally work with brands I actually like to create sponsored videos. Their direct support helps keep this channel afloat in the ever unstable world of RUclips ad revenue. These videos will always be disclosed, of course, and I appreciate everyone's kind support for these partnerships. Royalty Soaps also participates in commission or discount affiliations, like Amazon or RewardStyle, as these opportunities become available, like Amazon and RewardStyle and while the money we make with these links isn't much, every little bit counts and once again, we really appreciate your support! These products will always be marked and disclosed with a "✦".
We’re so glad you enjoyed our Peony and Amberwood Candle Kit. It does include wick stickers - we’re sorry yours were missing! We will be double checking to make sure it doesn’t happen with future kits. Thanks for the fun video! 💜
Now THIS is how you do customer service. A++
This right here confirms Bramble Berry as the best of all three, interaction with customers like this is key for me!
Neither of the other companies are affiliated or partnered with Royalty Soaps, so it makes sense that Bramble Berry is paying more attention to Katie.
I might be mistaken, but could its baggy be overlooked, because between 7:25 and 7:30, I see a small baggy in the box. Might be the wicks though.
i did notice when she is unpacking the kit, there was a little plastic bag in the box that she missed so that could have been them.
That $44 candle better light itself, extinguish itself, and last for a year!! That's nuts!
lol ikr
Whenever me and my mom see something expensive that’s an everyday item we say “it better be made of gold!”
@@alexanderpumpkin3423 I like that!
Wick tip: If you have no wick sticker, dip the metal wick base in the melted wax and coat it. Then quickly place it in the container and let the wax set. That way you can center it. Then you can pour the rest of the wax in. Sometimes the wick will come loose, but usually not. Source: I've been a home candle making hobbiest since the early groovy 70's.
For $44 a candle that "vessel" better be gold plated and not just paint...or it has to transport me to another dimension....
ACTUAL gold if you ask me :)...I just looked on the link and that Kit was $75 O.O
Or at the very least send the whole kit haha
@@haileybuth9223 it's still 44 PER CANDLE the kit is 80 something for the two of them together
@@haileybuth9223 right. How do you miss half the kit.
@@rabbitlovesraven yeah, but wooden wick is kinda infamous for awful customer service so she very well may be payin 80 somethin for just the one candle 😅
Katie laughing at the price of that absurd kit reminded me of the saying “sometimes you laugh so you don’t cry.” Or one from “Dirty Jobs” “you either laugh or throw up.” Thanks for putting your budget on the line for us, Katie!
So many times I've said "I have to laugh or I'm going to cry" to many situations! I think that's what's going on here
Her budget on the line 🤣🤣🤣 this woman has money!!
Shes worth like $1.5 million so yeah that $88 candle kit wasnt shit to her
Me and my dollar store tea lights will just be over here if anyone needs us 😬
I was thinking the same watching this!! 😂😂 (Poundland in the U.K. 🇬🇧😃👍😆).
Yup. I just buy cheap candles and hope I don't burn the house down. LOL
Im saving my money to start soap making like katie! I just buy a candle at walmart can't beat the peice. Thanks katie.
Me and my Walmart wax melts standing by
Action in Europe. Nice candles in a vessel with a wonderfull scent.... 3 euro max. When they are in sale. I pay 1,49 for them. And they smell so good...
The first kit do three wicks for each candle that's why there were so many wicks
That’s what I was thinking
I came here to make this comment lmao
But, there was only two candles. So she'd still be stuck with 14 wicks. And 10 wicks in each one would be dangerous.
I saw a buddy with the amazon kit and the box had a sticker that said to use three wicks in each, it seemed to be an ooops, left out of the instructions
Ahhhhh hence the three popsicle sticks!
In my opinion having so many wicks in the amazon kit is practical :D First of all more than one wick in this flat shape of container is pretty good to melt the wax evenly while burning the candle and second of all you can make new candles out of old candles and use the materials you get in the kit 🕯
But they could still throw out half the wicks and add smells Or at least make it stupid obvious it dont.come with smells
I was thinking the same, when there was 3 sticks.
@@ambergray6945 The product description actually recommends that you add dye and fragrance. It also says that they don't include them because they want the kit to be very easy for beginners and the steps for dyes/fragrances are temperature sensitive. They have a different premium kit (on their website) that comes with dyes and fragrances. If you don't read anything about the product before buying it, you can't blame the product for not being what you wanted.
@@AlienFern52 yea but people mis read are distracted or just dont read the description. So how hard would a pic be.
Yes! You can make so many candles in the same tins with all that wax and all those wicks
For the Amazon candle kit, you could add a second wick to reduce the pooling, since they included so many extra!!
3 wicks would also look great
According to others, the candle was supposed to be a 3 wick candle, but that part was left out of the instructions. Someone said a friend who ordered it had a sticker on the kit saying to use 3 wicks.
As I was watching this I was yelling at the screen make it 3 wicks. I never buy single wick candles.
@@tabathaevans5541 To be fair the wooden wick on the expensive candle did an excelent job. But if you're getting the regular wicks, and so many, then fair, use three.
but what's the use if there's no fragrance? lol
Whoever is doing the editing in this video: I appreciate you
I esp. loved the little remote control going CLICK! to fast fwd her little story telling off of the label 😆
It’s Caleb! 😂😂😂
Every video edit Caleb says, “Let’s add a little bit of spice.” 😂😂
Yes! I've felt the need to comment on the terrific editing several times lately. Caleb's really stepped up his game, and this video especially was 🔥! (Pun intended, of course)
I died at the "vessel" edit
The "did I really spend that for one kit? 😳 let me check my receipt" is the worst feeling! Hopefully they send you the rest!
I get SO MAD when they don't send everything as promised! ffs, you PAY for it, you shouldn't have to call saying "hey, I didn't get all of it" 😤
@@danielleking262 I don't mind so long as they actually tell me it's being sent as two orders, like Amazon will. Or Amazon will give me the option to hold my stuff until more of it is ready so they can make just one delivery (which, without knowing, is the default setting it will choose, which is fine). It's when you're left in the dark that it gets aggravating.
wooden wick has infamously slow shipping and terrible customer service. Im guessing Katie will be waiting awhile for that second candle kit
@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley I feel like someone took a box off a shelf that was supposed to have two smaller boxes inside, filled it with a ream of paper, and sent it without checking. That larger box had plenty of room for both candle kits but the person packing it [or the picker who shelved it] messed up. It does happen, but as someone who managed a warehouse location there is supposed to be a sanity check on the weight of the box before it goes out. This is how a lot of shipping errors get verified: somebody grabs your tracking number, checks the weight/cost of the shipping label on their end, and sees that the box is more than a pound underweight [in this case.] When you ship 100 identical boxes it's easy to see the average weight and how much deviation due to packers going paper crazy there is going to be.
Anyone know if they ever sent her the rest of her kit?
Somehow RUclips recommended this channel to me about a year ago and I am so grateful! You've brought a lot of joy to my life so thank you.
Katie's face and actions while playing with the paper in the wooden wick box made my day.
Super suspish that the wooden wick co says they are “eco friendly” but their wax blend uses palm oil? Unless their have a palm tree grove in their back yard palm oil is not eco friendly. But also that huge ass box and all that paper for that little kit?! Green washing much?
Glad to see someone else flagging that! Seriously, palm oil?? And yeah, definite weirdness with the size of the box there? 😝
@@anna_in_aotearoa3166 After she said there was a missing kit, my assumption was that there was a goof in the warehouse and that big ol box was supposed to have 2 kits in it and someone just filled it with paper packing instead.
I thought that too!
@@anna_in_aotearoa3166 I mean if they wanted to be eco friendly they would switch to beeswax, since both palm wax(made from palm oil) and soy wax contribute to deforestation (soy being worse than palm). However beeswax isn't considered vegan as it comes from an animal not a plant.
She was also supposed to have a second kit so all that paper wouldn't have been there, and the bigger box would have been justifiable
It is still ridiculous that it cost 44 bucks each candles I choked on my cup of tea when she said 88 bucks for the kit
It's about how much they cost in store in Australia the candles themselves
I place the wicks, melt the wax, pour it out, do it myself, and it’s still priced the same as their more mass produced candles? Uhhhh...... I get that they spent more time putting the kit together, but if I wanted their candles for that price, I wouldn’t go through the time and effort to do the kit.
And they sent the wrong kit. And she paid for shipping. Nope, nope, nope.
I’m wondering how you got on with the customer service and if the missing candle ever arrived Katie?
I love how Katie is completely a working mom. She doesn't look perfect and you can hear her kids in the background. But I have no desire to make candles or soap but love watching anyways.
Ditto!!!
I would counter and say she does look perfect!
This comment just makes me think of that famous clip of those two kids crashing their parents’ virtual meeting/interview thing when they got away from the nanny 😂 I’m trying to imagine what Katie would have done if it was her lol.
@@ShintogaDeathAngel I'm sure she would've just started chuckling like her usual bubbly self and bring the kids over to show the camera 😄

It went so well that now I have an Facebook and etsy shoo, plus a teeny tiny RUclips channel (as in no followers). I love making soap! What a blast!
you putting The Wooden Wick Co, Bramble Berry, and Amazon logos on the shelves was SO SATISFYING
**I didn't finish the video before commenting. thanks for doing that for EVERYTHING 😍
As someone who’s horribly allergic to fragrances, it’s actually really nice to know that that Amazon kit doesn’t have fragrance!
same, it's nice for once
A 30 minute video of Katie being her adorable, laughing self is EXACTLY what I needed. More please! 😆
The little fart noises on the Wooden Wick candle prices absolutely made my day :)
For the first kit I think you're to make it one candle at a time. With 3 sticks for 3 wicks. So you have enough wax and wicks for multiple candles whilst reusing the same cans once they've burnt up. So you're getting like 6 candles in total
you could always use the honey stirrer as decor on a honey bee themed wreath. also that is insane for a candle kit. 44 dollars think of all the ready made candles you could get lol
or if she makes a honey/bee themed soap she can use it to pour a honey coloured soap on the top !!
Woodwick’s promises sounded like a wish product description ... ‘createful candle making kit’ 😂
Createful candle making kit candle making candles kit creating create
Lol
I’ve never made candles (or soap for that matter) but I still watch everyone of Katie’s videos just because Katie made them.

Ok I’m actually all for the no fragrance thing! So many candle and wax fragrances cause me an allergic reaction. I’m so super sensitive to chemicals. :(
I agree if you want no scent, but it should at least specify. Most people get a candle to burn it for the scent, so...... It should say if there is no fragrance oil, lol.
@@danielleking262 it does say on the amazon listing there is no fragrance, and you can tell in the kit photos there isn’t any included. This is their description: “We highly recommend adding your favorite color and fragrance or essential oil.
Does the kit come with dye chips and fragrance oil?
No. This kit is intended to be very beginner-friendly. Adding dye and oil requires additional steps that are very temperature-sensitive.”
@@KL-ol8xf Ah, okay! Maybe she missed that, because she was VERY surprised (and disappointed) it did not come with fragrance oil, so that made it sound like they duped her, lol
Marie, I was thinking the same thing! I'm so allergic to fragrances... I've been wearing a-mask in public for years! Do you have MCAS?
im confused on why burn candles if they are scentless? is it just a visual thing that looks cool for you? :0
The Bramble Berry "vessel" looked the most luxe to me personally! They seem to reusable too, a kit that has everything to refill it would be super cool!
I feel like with how many wicks they gave with the unscented one it should have 2-3 wicks in it. Did the last candle company rectify their mistake?
I love how when you were doing the prices you lined it all up with the shelves. Very satisfying
I loved that part too, very cool !!
You make me happy during this time. My cat just passed away and it’s so hard 😭
Hugs, your feeling sad. Sorry, I hope your kitty had a wonderful life
My heart hurts for you. I pray you find peace🥲
I'm so sorry to read this. Praying peace at this time
I know I’m a total stranger, but give you hugs and love. ❤️
Y’all are so nice ♥️
That honey dipper stirring stick has Lily's name all over it! Perfect for stiring up fairy petal potions in the garden 🧚♂️ 🌸 🍃
Oh that's a lovely idea!
I am a soap maker branching out to candles. Let me just say most candle makers are upset with Wooden Wick for several reasons and shipping the wrong items is one of them!!
With the wooden wick one you’re just paying for all that freaking paper 😂
She was like a kitty cat getting all excited over the paper 😄
I was SHOCKED more than half the box was freakin packaging just for that small little box at the bottom? Like, wtf!
Yeah, it looks like they spared no cost in the packaging (not even talking about the big unnecessary box.) I could forgive that if it was a case of someone forgot to put the other kit in there and its a box actually meant for the size of two kits.
@@artbymesa That's what I was thinking too. The box was half paper because there were *supposed* to be two kits in there. If there had been, it would have been a more reasonable amount of packaging.
@@anix712 I was wondering that too. How could they make such a big mistake! Didn't the person packaging it wonder why it needed such a big box just for ONE of the kits?? Who knows, but wow.... Doesn't look good for them.
Your husband does amazing job editing thank you so much you rock
My parents used to make candles and I was obsessed with them when I was a kid. They had one particular mould that was a silicon elephant so we had these medium-sized multicoloured elephants with wicks coming out the tops of their heads, their trunks raised in the air. I loved this video!
I see Royalty Soaps, I click, I like and I watch. Love your videos.
I get unreasonably excited whenever you release a new kit testing video 😍 your energy is enthralling to watch!!
I ordered from wooden wick a few months ago and I have to say I have mix feelings about them. I was super interested in their more unique wax blends and the candles I made are really nice, they burn well, smell amazing (I did do a little fragrance mixing), and it was an overall positive experience!
But I was super underwhelmed by their fragrances! I bought a whole bunch because it was cheaper to buy enough to get free shipping than pay for shipping. I have to say that most of them were either terrible or just blah, they also didn't smell anything like I thought they would! I also was missing something from my order so I would say that whoever is packing orders is sloppy! When I emailed them I never got a response beyond the automated message, but then like 2 weeks later the missing thing showed up at my door????
Sounds sketchy! You'd think a pricy company like that wouldn't have such bad customer service or packing processes.
@@danielleking262 At the time I assumed it was a one off because I ordered on cyber Monday and my package arrived the week of Xmas so obviously everyone is slammed, but if both my order and Katie’s had issues it starts to seem like they have a problem!
I'm not entirely sure how you made it to my suggested page but oh man.. subbed. Your energy is lovely and I absolutely adore your laughhhh
"Or I could use it to hold sand" spoke to my goblin soul on a deep level lolol
That special packing on the last one looked like wood excelsior. I see ceramics and sculptures shipped in that quite often
Put dirt in that jar. Every soul needs a jar of dirt.

For $44 a candle it better come finished and ready to go. I have to know what The wooden wick customer service said.
I have went rounds with Wooden Wick Co and would never recommend them.
As a person who has chronic migraines I actually prefer candles without fragrance :) the first kit looks really great even if it's the cheapest
This is the first time I’ve ever watched you… And I really want whatever happy drugs you’re on 🥳!!
Because you’re so joyful and happy and laugh so easily! I love that ❤️
I’d clean the honey stick and turn it into a wand for lily. Add all the ribbons and glitter :)
This is a very katie idea 😊
I love that the editing feels like Katie is holding the editor hostage and he's now editing videos out of spite. This is a good thing, I promise, I love it lol
She responded to someone else and said it’s Caleb editing 😂
I wonder if the Amazon kit has extra wicks so you can make a 3-wick candle with them.
There were 20 wicks & 2 containers ..
@@denisehaley9271 yeah exactly. That's more than enough for three wick candles.
The product photo only shows one wick per candle and the math makes no sense no matter how you divide it, but I agree a multi wick candle would work better!!
I don’t know why people are complaining about the abundance of wicks, I’d be so jazzed if I got so much extra because I could make the 3-wick candles as you said and maybe invest in more candle making stuff after if I get hooked
I love getting to see your wooden storage boxes on the shelves! Looks like a wand shop! Also, thank you for putting the graphics over the shelves behind you, so satisfying!
Bramble Berry jar: falls and tumbles back into the box
Katie: *pats jar* “I beg your pardon”...
I lost it 😂
I'm living for this video. Tall jars tend to get melt pools a bit later than the first burn though, so I think the Bramble Berry one might be OK. For sure after the 15th-hour burn, all will be clean- It is just a strategy for narrow-tall candles.
I make candles for a living, this was a hoot 🤣 I would be very interested to know what would happen if you did a full burn test down to the bottom. That expensive one looks good but the price 😳😳😳
I love your honesty, sarcasm, and authentic self. ...thanks for giving true reviews.
The editing with the shelves is AMAZING!
I love how companies, don't do their homework....We'll just send it to Katie and she will tell us. No cost for market research. You are so comprehensive, love it.!
Need to know if you got the other part of the missing kit 😱🥺 loved the video 💛💛
I think they gave you so many wicks so you could put 2-3 in each of those larger candles. Because it also came with those 3 popsicle sticks that would hold the wicks in place so maybe they assumed you were going to just make one candle at a time? It would make sense because those candles look wide enough to be a 3-wick candle to prevent the lack of burning all of the wax.
I love the wooden wick co. Yes they’re crazy expensive yet oh my goodness.❤️
Her reaction to the $44 candle is exactly how my friends and I reacted to our friend putting a $35 candle on her wedding registry
Nothing wrong with that. Good advise is put down things you want in all price ranges, because you never know who will buy you the expensive thing(s) because it’s a special occasion.
I would pay $35 for a candle for myself or a gift. $35 would be an inexpensive wedding gift. Maybe she chose that for someone with limited funds
I love the craft kit evaluations... Hope to see more as future kits come out! 🕯️ 🧼 💐
Another fabulous video from my favorite soap maker
🧼✨
Katie I have a genuine protip tip for holding wicks vertical, that i learned from a zoom class/kit I did here in the UK. Instead of a lollipop stick or whatever, you get a pair of wooden chopsticks that are joined at one end, like the sort you get with Chinese or Japanese takeaway (at least you do over here) and DON’T split them apart. You use them to sort of pincer the wick and rest them across the top of the jar and they grip the wick and keep it in place really well.
Totally thought she said, “I almost spit out my teeth.” 😂 As a dental hygienist, I got real worried.
My elderly neighbour used to say "I nearly lost my teeth!!" when she was horrified over something. She had false teeth as long as I knew her.
I think the amazon candle should have been rated higher, it’s definitely the one I plan to pick up! I like that it gave the melting container and plenty of wicks to make more candles! It says in the listing it doesn’t have fragrance to make it an easy beginner candle, and I like that since I’m also allergic to a lot of fragrances. With how it’s also now $17.99, the price is absolutely the best per candle too. Worth getting + spending a few bucks more on a fragrance on your own.
You make me so happy! 🥰😃
I hope everyone who reads this wil have a wonderful day 🧡
Love and light 😊💛
You too. 💕💕
No fragrance! 😍 I'm loving it! I get headache from nearly all fragrances. That's also why I can't buy your soap, but you inspired me to make my own fragrance free cold process soap ☺️
Yay! Really chuffed to hear someone out there is doing the process minus all the fragrances 🥰 On behalf of all us asthmatics & allergy-sufferers, really hope some commercial producers may take a leaf from your book! This craze for having every single thing in the house or workplace be scented (and STRONGLY scented at that) is honestly a nightmare for people like you and me...
I was JUST thinking about buying a candle making kit because I really wanna start learning how to make candles and hopefully start my own little business. HOW DID YOU KNOW?!😳

Katie you are a human rainbow! Bright ,beautiful and so colourful x
Dip the metal part of the wick into the wax and let it set for 20 or 30 seconds and then pour your waxing
Good trick!!!
Katie, the warning sticker is the right size. It's supposed to be over sized. It helps with removal, but required to be there for resale if you plan on selling them. Protects the company that makes the kit from most lawsuits.
I would agree 44 dollars for a candle is crazy though
Katie you are such an amazing person!! You inspire me everyday!! Thank you so much 😊
You had my subscription instantly. First sentence. So much personality & a great sense of humor. I’m glad there are humans like you.
I've purchased from Wooden Wick and I really love their fragrances. The price is crazy for such a small amount of fragrance. They have all natural products as well as biodegradable. My issue with them is also the pricing and their shipping. Thank God they have a rewards program so I do get coupons, which was helpful with pricing.
They may be biodegradable but using palm wax is pretty unethical. If you care about the environment, you may wish to seek out other companies.
@@elinorcackett2314 Just like using electronic devices(cell phones,tv,tablets, etc) used to watch this video and reply to my comment. Last I checked the way they mine the metals and the people that build them aren't treated ethically and cause them Cancers and death. Lets not forget the kids they use to mine the metals and families that get paid pennies for a company to make billions. I'm sure it won't make you stop using them tho. All we can do is hope that the companies we choose to spend our dollars with actually try not to hurt the environment and people. No company is perfect and the only way to know is if we work there 24/7 to actually see if what they promote as environmentally friendly is true.
@@auntiecoco6824 While that is a fair point, I was not praising the eco friendliness of my device.
Unfortunately this society requires that we have access to a phone and the internet to get by. Not so with candles.
Yes, the onus should be on the companies to do better but if we do not hold them to a higher standard, using our voices and our wallets they will have no interest in changing. We can do more than hope.
@@elinorcackett2314 Exactly that's why I didn't buy palm wax and would have hoped you stopped replying to my comments and trying to show that you're better than people who do. Nothing is perfect in today's world we live in. FYI you could also live off the grid if you truly care about this world. Make a living that way...its possible if you really want it. Have a great day
I don't know about the states, but in Canada the brand name WoodWick candles are like $45 regularly in Bed Bath and Beyond, I don't know who buys them but obviously some people think it's worth it! lol
Depending on where you buy them that's about right here in Michigan with the exchange rate between US and Canada. They are about $20-$30.
With the amazon one you could have put in three wicks to each jar and made 3-wick candles which would have melted the wax more evenly
I very much enjoy your kit testing videos. Keep making as many as you want!
I'd buy those brambleberry jars on their own
I would be interested in knowing the experience contacting the company to get order fixed
Wooden Wick put such a huge markup on their kits! Looking at prices on their site, you can get materials for 8 candles for $178, making it $22 per candle. That does leave a lot of extra wicks and such, minimizing waste would be 100 candles for $18 per candle.
Yessssss I love when she does these!!
I bought a candle making kit from Amazon that cost me $59. The candle kit came with six small 4 oz jars with deer prints, it came with plenty of wax and wax pitcher. It also had plenty of wicks, stickers, mixing spoon, 3 mica block colors, blade to scrape the blocks, thermometer, tweezer and it also had the popsicle sticks with a pre drill hole. What I also love about the kids is that it came with instruction manual that had color pictures.
The editing is on point
I LOVE the scents from wooden wick co! 💖
Regarding the wooden wick, how was customer service and replacing the missing items?
Katie thought her video would help people who are looking for a kit to buy.... Little did she know she's also giving business excellence tips 😊👍
Could you perhaps use the honeydude for mica drizzles on soaps?! Or otherwise incorporate it into a soapmaking technique?
That's what I was thinking!!
Katie you are truly one of my favorite people!
Katie, are you going to be getting KiwiCo kits for your kiddo's when they are old enough for them? I think they would be a fantastic fit with Lily.
KiwiCo covers all ages. They're a little pricey month-to-month, but it keeps the kiddos entertained for several hours! COVID stopped my subscription, I plan on resuming it soon for my son!
“If it’s not scented I don’t care”
Same
For the Amazon candles, I don't doubt that it was supposed to be a 2-4 wick candle, I think the fact that it has no fragrance is pretty good due to people being sensitive to things like that but still wanting a candle :)
Katie marveling over the use of excelsior 😆 it's just shredded wood basically. Useful stuff!
I the Amazon kit intended you to use multiple wicks as a larger candle (like three wicks).
When she was pulling all the paper out I was just waiting for her to fling out a glass jar 😂
Nope! That is extra paper where her second kit should have been. 😂
I loved this video looking forward to a part 2!
Completely off topic, but I love the shelves behind you during your day-after review (26:10).
I believe those shelves are the ikea Ivar collection. They're so flexible and you can really customise them so well! I was looking into getting them at some point because you can get really pretty boho looking doors! :)
I got a kit from CandleSciece and came with everything needed except the thermometer. The scents were great!!!
I don't think I realized there was so little to the actual process of candle making... there must be something I'm missing, because it sure seems like I could use old Mason jars as the container, unvarnished bamboo chopsticks or popsicle sticks or wooden dowels for the solid wick, just needing to buy the wax and the scent oil...
Yeah, pretty much! The jars / tins / vessels could be anything and wicks are super cheap.... It's just the wax and fragrance really!
I really like this video because you show us how to do this and some people don’t show there emotions but you do and you tell us what you do like you said you had to watch TikTok so that’s why I like the video
