Thanks so much for posting this video, it was HUGELY helpful, I just completed this mod to my car. Can I ask: when you push the start or drive select button with your headlights lights off does half the start button illuminate? I think its an off centre status light, and it looks just a little strange, and wonder if its normal? I think I can see yours does it at 24:58 ?
Im doing this myself, but im running into an issue with the start and srive select button. Ive got power but thats all, i see blue/gray/white wires. I took pins 3 and 6 then put them into the conversion harness. Ive switched wires but nothing is working. Do you know what the 3 colors are for the conversion harness?
I think leather airbag cover is very unsafe mod. Airbag cover has a deep groove inside. When airbag explodes it breaks airbag cover in half, right exactly where this groove is. With airbag cover covered in leather and sewed around with strong thread you altered conditions for airbag explosion, and now nobody knows what will happen in case of accident - who knows if airbag will be powerful enough to rip leather, and even if, is airbag will inflate in correct direction and with correct power (maybe ripping leather will consume so much energy so airbag will not inflate enough to protect your head). If I would be in your pants, I would at least buy another airbag, and combine it with this leather airbag cover and explode it in garage to to test what happen.
You do know the original plastic is harder than the leather on this airbag and it goes through easily (seen it first hand)… He won’t have any trouble with the leather ripping to deploy the airbag..
I see what you mean. But just keep in mind the screw is meant to hold the trip to the guide. It basically anchors it, if you drill it large so the guide hole goes through you won't be anhcoring it anymore
Is it turn key? There should be a way but you'll start have to turn your key to the ACC power position and use the button use the button to crank. As for this kit I'm unsure if it will have everything necessary for it to work with that kind of application. If you have a start button on your centre console then it should work just lole the video
