Metal covers of Depeche Mode work really well. There’s this. Also Rammstein’s version of “Stripped”. I’d love to hear an Alice In Chains version of “Never Let Me Down”

I actually love this! I’m a Motörhead fan. This is by far one of the greatest covers and impersonation of Lemmy.

It can be done in both ways - slower and faster.
same, 1.25 speed sound more motorhead to my ears, except for the vocals which are perfect at normal speed.

Played in a rock band 20 years or so ago, and we hired a singer who naturally sounded identical to Lemme, which brought no fans to the shoes but that fucker made the best wine, brandy, and moonshine ever, so we had to keep him for the sake of preserving rock and rolls party and free booze!!

You need to damage your vocal cords with cigarettes, alcohol and drugs... then maybe you’d pull it off.
Hoarse vocals are almost impossible to imitate otherwise. Rod Stewart and Joe Cocker - same thing.

'Personal Jesus' was composed on an acoustic guitar,
so if it sounded good on that, it would sound good performed in any genre of music - IF performed/recorded well.
I ADORE the original.... yet you made it better with a splash of Motörhead.
I kinda love how most of your covers are like 5-10 minutes long, but a Motorhead style cover is only 3:30

The great thing about Lemmy was that he sang every song as though he felt every word of the lyrics deeply in his heart. Which strangely becomes most pronounced in some cover songs, such as _Breaking the law_ and _It's a long way to the top._ Lemmy's rendition of these songs is so sincere it's like they were written specifically for him, with his entire life experience in mind.

This speaks to the genius of Depeche Mode in my opinion. What differentiates Depeche from all the other electronic bands of the 80’s is that their songwriting and musical arrangements were much better than some of the bands they used to be lumped with (Erasure, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, etc.).
