Very grateful to have found you, thank you for posting so valuable information comparing P45 and P35. I am a beginner and I didnt have an idea of what were the differences. I am buying gone soon. Thank you!!
I can indeed hear the ground in the lower end that you spoke of. Just a richer sound in general. Thanks so much for doing such thorough reviews. This has been invaluable to me in looking for my first 88-key elec. Thank you, Chris!
My wife has had the p-35 for a couple years now. I didnt see a 1/4 output like you said. There is only a headphone output. This is problematic because I cant connect it to another device like an amp, mixer or pa without losing the internal speaker sound. I think the same can be said for the P-45. I think this information may be helpful to your viewers.
Great video! I have been racking my brain on which piano to get my son who is really enjoying learning piano at school. I checked your website and saw the p-45 b student bundle and must say it has to be the best so far! I also have read great reviews about you!
Thank you, that's really kind. You're right we have a selection of bundles on our website where you can save money of the essential accessories, particularly useful if you're buying your first piano. Best of luck to your boy!
I've played the p35 regularly but bought a p45. I prefer the p35 and find it crisper, the higher end pieces through rather than the the more...I don't know...matted sound of the p45, any idea what I could change in the settings to make the p45 crisper?
Features I consider very handy for a budget are actual midi sockets and a stereo line input. 32 polyphony is OK if one is enhancing the sound with an external module which is then mixed in via line input. I did find that the P35 does not supply the 5 volts for midi so if you can't insert say an older Anatek midi curve into the chain- it won't power on.
I have a P35 ! The piano sound for the price was why I chose it. I am disappointed by the other voices though. An earlier Yamaha I had, a PSR model, had far better string sound. But you also failed to mention that you can enhance the piano sound with increased reverb - which I find is well done and is more enjoyable. Otherwise, thanks for the comparison and explanation of polyphony!
Thank you so much! This helps a great deal. As a pianist, I found that the P35 has a very hard feel to it; there is no feeling of felt under the keys. Another digital piano I have has a much softer feel to it, but it has other issues. Do you find that the "action" (or the feeling of the non-existent action) is more cushioned on the P45? I haven't played a P45 myself.
By the way, thanks for the excellent review!! My previous question is because P35 seems easier to connect to the Roland keyboard with standard MIDI cables, but poliphony seems to be woth to be considered!!Thanks!!
Have the p45 aux for join music with the piano sound? There is better pianos with the same price or more cheap? Sory for this questions, iam a begginer. Ty u are doing great reviews! ;)
Hi which one would you choose between the P45 and the Korg SP-170s. do you have an idea which is better? the P45 is newer but that doesnt make it better right? i'm new to piano. thanks
My Child just started learning the piano. She is playing on a Grand Steinway. The teacher asked she get weighted key keyboard full size so she can practice at home. This is a little over my budget with all the music lessons, Any other pianos worth looking at or buying? Or just suck it up and buy a p45?
Hi Gary, I know things can get expensive with all the lessons too and it's hard to find the right balance between price and quality. I used to teach regularly myself and I can say with certainty that if a student had a good quality instrument to practice on at home they would progress faster, this is actually making the lessons better value for money if you think about it! - Most teachers I know recommend Yamaha because they are the most authentic feeling/sounding digital keyboards/pianos, yes there might be cheaper electric pianos out there but there is a danger of handicapping your child's potential of the sake of saving a few £ or $. It's hard to make the right choice. All I can say is that in my experience as a teacher students progress very nicely when using Yamaha P45 or P115, and this means that they progress through their grades faster and therefore cost their parents less in the long run. I hope this helps. Good luck.
Hi , my 7 yr old just started learning Piano and his teacher said he is doing good. Now we hv no knowledge about piano . So far I thought may be p 45 is a good one . But I’m still a bit confused. Should I really spend about 600 bucks now or go for more cheaper version. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
+Jake Methner Hi, Yes P45 are definitely useful, for small rooms, cafes, bedrooms, home use they are just fine. If you're playing in a larger room like a pub or town hall most people prefer to use an external speaker or PA system.
I love the sound of the piano, and love hearing it in music. I don't feel all that confident that I could pick up learning how to play very well but if I were to try, I'd wanna start on something like this. I want it to be as close to a real piano as possible. I'm not so sure what it is I'm asking but, what do you say to someone thinking about learning? How difficult is learning? Or is that too broad of a question...?
+Raymond C Hi, as long as you practice you will improve. Think about when you started to drive (if you do), at first you may have been a bit clumsy with the pedals and gears, lots of hand and foot coordination to learn and it can seem overwhelming, but after a few months it's second nature and you do it without thinking about it. Because you practice all the time you get better, it's that simple.
+ePianos.co.uk Thanks so much for responding! I still haven't bought one yet, I'll probably end up getting it but still hesitant. Thanks again and as well your videos are really helpful.
depend on your budget, if you have low budget like me, I think it's still worth it, it just has less feature from DGX i think, some feature like change the sound to other instruments (but this is not important if you just want to focus on playing piano) when I bought it at my country the seller said it's doesn't support usb though, but i think you still can connect it to pc for synthesia (i think i read it somewhere in the manual). so overall for me, yeah it's worth it
Saludos.
The P35 does have built in speakers but it is no longer manufactured. The P45 is the replacement and is still a current model. You can see our latest deals on the P45 here: www.epianos.co.uk/shop/yamaha-p45-digital-keyboard/
Hi, me again! So I did decide to buy the P-115 (much thanks to your videos!) and I want to hook it up to external speakers. The speakers I have use either an aux-in or RCA in. Is this the kind of cable I would need to hook my piano to my speakers via RCA? www.amazon.com/Genenric-Cable-SuperFlex-SFP-Y15RT-15-Feet/dp/B0199P9NI6/ref=sr_1_48?ie=UTF8&qid=1453313583&sr=8-48&keywords=Two+RCA+to+TRS Also! The pedal that the piano came with only has the function of either no sustain, or sustain. And I find that with the deeper notes the sustain drowns out the playing. How do I control the level of sustain the piano produces? Maybe with a better pedal? What pedal would you recommend? (And again, I know very little as I'm just learning)
You're the only man on youtube who compared the two models. Thanks for that. That was very interesting.
thank you! very helpful in buying my first digital piano
Very grateful to have found you, thank you for posting so valuable information comparing P45 and P35. I am a beginner and I didnt have an idea of what were the differences. I am buying gone soon. Thank you!!
Thanks, glad to help.
Thank you for this review. I'm looking at the P35 bc it's going for 125 used. I'll move to make an offer now. Again, thank you.😊👍
I can indeed hear the ground in the lower end that you spoke of. Just a richer sound in general. Thanks so much for doing such thorough reviews. This has been invaluable to me in looking for my first 88-key elec. Thank you, Chris!
+Tasha Mehne You're welcome, good luck!
This really helped me better understand what I am looking for and how to describe that. It's the polyphony and definately want the P45. Thank you!
I got the P45 and I love it!

great review. very helpful. I was wondering if the wooden stand fits both P35 and P45? Thanks
I've played the p35 regularly but bought a p45. I prefer the p35 and find it crisper, the higher end pieces through rather than the the more...I don't know...matted sound of the p45, any idea what I could change in the settings to make the p45 crisper?
P45 is such a disgrace. I get frustrated when i play it and i miss p35 everytime.

THIS CHANNEL IS SOOO UNDERRATED MAN UR BEST
Thank you. I hope you mean underrated though.
Yeah sorry i made a mistake
Thank you so much for this wonderful video! I am a seasoned player on the grand piano but I'm looking for a digital one.
Thank you so much! This helps a great deal. As a pianist, I found that the P35 has a very hard feel to it; there is no feeling of felt under the keys. Do you teach piano? You are so good. Brilliant demo.
which one has better key action? yamaha p-35 or p-95?
Did it sounds a beep when changing the sound on P-45?
Yes it does but I think you can disable it.
that's the bleep bloop
Thanks for the review! very helpful.
Thank you for presentating !
...good to know, before bying
greetings from germany
By the way, thanks for the excellent review!! My previous question is because P35 seems easier to connect to the Roland keyboard with standard MIDI cables, but poliphony seems to be woth to be considered!!Thanks!!
Is the P-35 less expensive than the P-45? Which one should I buy if want to spent as little as possible?
if its better what do you think bro holy shit
Have the p45 aux for join music with the piano sound? There is better pianos with the same price or more cheap? Sory for this questions, iam a begginer. Ty u are doing great reviews! ;)
will p45 connect to an amplifier?
Nice review.
Hi which one would you choose between the P45 and the Korg SP-170s. do you have an idea which is better? the P45 is newer but that doesnt make it better right? i'm new to piano. thanks
So 15£ more (in Amazon) for n45, so why buy still p35?
Sergio Ramos depends on your county, might be more or less expensive
how does the p45 compare against the Casio px160?
Hey there, is there anything else in the $500-600 range that sounds just as good or better?
Could you clarify. I don't believe the p35 can transpose while I believe the p45 can. Is this correct.?
They both can transpose. Remember P35 is no longer made but there might be some used ones for sale. P45 is the current model.
Thanks for the clarification. :)
thx , u'r a life saver ^^ this is really helpful
i'm gonna go with 45 :3 again, thank you very much
You certainly know how to play your instruments,Chris, much better than i expected, Mick S.

Thank you so much,
Don't ask, I bought a ydp-103, and the teacher is very pleased. I felt is was the closest thing to the Grand Steinway she is playing on in school..

The P35 doesn' t have a sustain pedal?
Quick question: Was the piano sound recorded via audio/USB cables or via a microphone? I'm concerned about speakers...
It's recorded through an external mic so we can hear the speakers performing. Specifically it's a Zoom Q3HD mic.
hi I am between two models which is better for a young student yamaha p45 or casio cdp 130
vasia srnt yamaha p45 sounds way more realistic
Is 280€ a good deal for a 2 year-old P-35 ? (With the sustain pedal, the stand and a bag to carry it)
Great review by the way
Can i connect the P45 to a computer even without the Midi? And can i put my headphones with aux on it??
They are basically the same price as of now; Dec 2015.
thank you so much
How would you rate the P95. Might buy a used one.
Nowhere near as good as P115.
Which didgital piano has the best dynamics
You certainly know how to make that piano sing! I bet you have been playing piano since you were two. Right?
Which song is that from 2:56 ?
Thank you for this. I shall get me the p45. And subscribe to your channel !
Thank you
what was that piano song he played first?
It's mostly just improvisation.
are the speakers on the 45 even slightly useful? for like a small room? Also dont the black keys have a matte black touch?
+Jake Methner Hi, Yes P45 are definitely useful, for small rooms, cafes, bedrooms, home use they are just fine. If you're playing in a larger room like a pub or town hall most people prefer to use an external speaker or PA system.
ePianos.co.uk Yea I figured. Thanks!
Hi, I have another Roland keyboard with 5 pin (DIN?) Midi stantard in / Out. Is there any easy way to control the Roland from the Yamaha P45? Thanks!!
hey unfortunately no because I think p45 doesn't have midi out/in plug. but I might be wrong too
does the p45 have "full size" keys?
Alon.a yes
Obrigado
Are the piano sounds the same on both, I know the 115 has an updated sample from the best Yamaha stage grand piano, thnx?
I love the sound of the piano, and love hearing it in music. I don't feel all that confident that I could pick up learning how to play very well but if I were to try, I'd wanna start on something like this. I want it to be as close to a real piano as possible. Hello, I've just bought the p45 and wondered if the new usb out will still take a midi signal for piano training softer like Synthesia?
Harry Drums might need to buy something like the kenton usb midi hub for that
Harry Drums Yes it will.
Do they also deliver by mail to the US?
+bladehawk100 Can do, but I think you'll find it's cheaper to buy from mainland USA.
+ePianos.co.uk oh ok then thank you
Do you run any software to enhance the sounds?
+Abel Ferreira No, what you hear is straight from the speakers into a Zoom mic, no enhancements at all.
+ePianos.co.uk they sound great then, thank you. I'm thinking about buying a P45
Helpful.
Do you ship to The Netherlands?
+LlWEl Yes, email your address to me at epianos88@gmail.com and I'll get a price for you.
Hey guys. Should i buy the p 45 or the pre owned dgx 230 series? Thanks
Mugen Adi Suryo which one did you buy I’m curious?
in the end i bought the p45 one
Mugen Adi Suryo is it worth it I may but it. (I’m a beginner)
depend on your budget, if you have low budget like me, I think it's still worth it, it just has less feature from DGX i think, some feature like change the sound to other instruments (but this is not important if you just want to focus on playing piano) when I bought it at my country the seller said it's doesn't support usb though, but i think you still can connect it to pc for synthesia (i think i read it somewhere in the manual). so overall for me, yeah it's worth it
Is it okay to to not use a piano stand, if I have a table long enough?
If the table’s height is suitable for you, there is no problem
can i use an expression pedal or a volume pedal to the p45? since it has a layering sound
You can use a sustain pedal (one is supplied in the box) but not a volume control pedal
ePianos.co.uk ayt, thanks sir ☺
can we actually connect p35 to amplifier? if so, does it have 2 output channel plugs? (stereo)
You can output into external speakers via the headphone/output socket.
Does someone know how to get the sheet music from the demo song from the P45?
lemontree I don't Know how, but the full name of each demo song is mentioned in the manual.
You can download them from imslp.org !

cool digital sound
is the LP-5A 3 pedal sustain compatible with the P45?
+John Abeigon No it isn't.
Thanks.
Yamaha p35 does it built-in speakers
The P35 does have built in speakers but it is no longer manufactured. The P45 is the replacement and is still a current model. You can see our latest deals on the P45 here: www.epianos.co.uk/shop/yamaha-p45-digital-keyboard/
Played the p45 much louder
Hello, am I able to add the Yamaha three pedal option to this piano?
No, unfortunately you cannot.
I call this a comparison
Can we do half peddaling in p45????
Of course. It is also specified in the manual.
What's the demo song you were playing?
It's just improv. Copyright prevents us from playing most popular tunes.
I can't hear church organ comparison voices
Can i uset it like MIDI in Fl studio?
+Avisso You can MIDI from both them
+ePianos.co.uk Thank you very much!!! Amazing playing !!! I love it !!!
The P45 or Korg B1???
Im gonna use this i my edit if that is ok
Thank you, I enjoyed that.
im P35
Does anyone know how to play demo songs on P45?
i dont think it has any demo songs
you hold the function button and press the keys after harpsicchord
P45 is a frickin disgrace to P35, period !

+raymond c the yamaha fc 4 or fc3a sustain pedal is better than the pedal that comes with the p115
Can they be used as MIDI controllers?
Yes
this was very useful! thanks
+Volnice Mendes Thank you
