As a guitarist I was looking for an entry level portable piano that suits my needs of refreshing and improving my limited knowledge on the keyboard, recording some backing tracks for my guitar playing etc. I decided to buy the P45 and I don't regret it. It has great action, not world-champion but good enough sounds and it's really lightweight. I especially enjoy the basic grand piano sound and the rhodes-ish electric piano sound.
Some say his mating call is the demo song from the Yamaha DGX 650. Others say that when he raises his voice, his left hand makes an involuntary slide up motion. All we know is...he's called Jack.
The Yamaha P45 is an accomplishment, not a bad sound at all for a relatively reasonable price.... Definitely the best beginners piano. Very well demonstrated in this demo. Clean high quality audio in this video that shows, when you listen to it. The best sound of this piano on the RUclips..... The strings sounds are a bit lame, but thats ,my subjective opinion
The Build in sounds are decent, the EP sounds really impressed me. More than enough to get you started. Hook up an Ipad and the possibilities are endless. For starters check out iLectric and the Moog app. Those 2 apps alone will do most or your EP and Synth sounds. If you get bored with them, there's always Garageband.
@@sandragamal8727 it's my first ever piano, so i really don't have a good reference.. But I've noticed some things to be true, that I've seen in some reviews.. You forgot to show that the piano has the ability to play two "instruments" at the same time. Like the Grand Piano and Strings at the same time, for that very good harmony effect.
seems like the best option for me! Graded hammer action for under $400! And its a Yamaha! Who cares if there aren't many sounds, it'll be plugged into StudioOne most of the time anyway! By the way, how is it with StudioOne?
that second organ mode is much more baroque(1700's to 1750's) and suitable for the music of bach, the first is much more romantic (from the 1830's to ca1890's) and suitable for french music or german stuff like mendelssohn or liszt
Great Video and playing! I've always wanted to learn Piano my whole life; Figured it was time I started. Hopefully I made the right choice with this keyboard -- Wanted something with the proper feel most importantly. Plus after hearing the Yamaha Sound and quality here, it just made the higher price worth it over some much cheaper options.
I've had this piano for 3 years now and it is an incredibley good piece of kit for the price. The ONLY fault I can point out is that it doesn't have a 'Hammond' style organ sound. I wish they would have included this instead of adding the second church organ sound.
So are you happy with the sound of those grand piano samples? I heard complaints that it sounds very synthetic and cheap. But so far it seems to be one of the only few complaints.
THANK YOU! For putting time and effort into this. As someone shopping for a keyboard this is SO helpful. Can I ask how you recorded the Piano? Is there a midi port on the back? EDIT: Oh, I see you answer that in the review lol. Thank you again :D
Hi Andertons Music Co. Thank you for an amazing video on P45. I recently bought it and I'm not able to connect it to my Mac. I use Logic Pro X for production. I have my old PSR-i425 which works properly with Mac as a midi controller. I'm having problems with P45. My Mac doesn't recognise this when connected.
the second harpsichord includes the 4' that the first harpsichord only includes the 8'. In other words, you're hearing two notes in the harpsichord 2 (the note you're playing and the note exactly 1 octave above it, suitable for use in a baroque orchestra if you don't have or cant get a real harpsichord), whereas in the harpsichord 1, you only hear the note you play.
Hey one thing you should tell people about this is the polyphone number, it's only 64 notes. You will hit that number if you're playing a fast song with the sustain pedal held down.
64 is more than enough for beginning + intermediate players. The FP-30 has 192 polyphony notes and it didn't bother me one bit on the P-45 when comparing them...
Great video, it´s so fun to watching it ;D i am comparing very hardly, which i should pick from between p 45 and p 115. what´s your recommendation, jack?
thanks for the response so did you upgrade from this to the p115? I am a student so want to make sure my purchase lasts me several years but in the UK the p115 is a good 200 pounds more expensive
If you're using it with the MIDI connection it's not worth upgrading. If you use something like Kontakt Live or Ableton Live then you're not limited to the onboard sound and speakers. Pretty sure the P45 and P115 have exact same keys, the only main difference is the addition of 2x 4cm speakers on the P115, I'm not sure how much of an impact on the sound that makes but it's irrelevant if you're using MIDI controller anyway. Oh, the P115 may also have onboard soft pedal support, can't remember.. but you can also use multiple pedals on P45 over MIDI.
Obviously!! I have a P45 and it sound very weak and not that good!! This devices ppl into believing this is what it’s gonna sound like NOPE NOT AT ALL!!!

@@D-Tox_ finally found someone that agrees with me. I bought a FP 30 for my son, and I thought it sounded cold. It also sounded out of tune with certain note combinations. I did appreciate the damper and string resonance simulation, though. The action was excessively heavy to me as well.
