I’ve had mine for about 3 months. Absolutely loving it! It was my first watch over $1000 and I think it punches above it’s weight. Definitely a little biased, but it’s a great watch nonetheless.
I just bought the Aquis Clean Ocean (same size) and love it! I think Oris is hard to beat, esp. for the price! Thanks for the excellent and honest review for us.
You're absolutely correct. This entire "in-house movement" strategy is nothing but smart marketing and ensures that the brand gets the additional money down the road for service. It's no different than car dealerships, where most of their revenue is generated in post-sales service, warranty work, etc. While I own watches that are "in-house", it certainly is not a driving factor in my decision to buy this watch over that one.
The best looking Aquis so far. The size is perfect, the newer hands are great, love the lume, might pull the trigger on this one, wish you buy the rubber strap separately for a reasonable price.
I got mine on Friday very hard to get in 39.5mm in UK I also have it with brushed braclet. The 43.5mm is way to big for someone with a small wrist like me I have a 6" and a half inch wrist roughly. So for anyone who has a small wrist like me I would highly recommend this watch. Great review.
Great video. Great watch. Your first video about the Aquis helped decide to buy the new 39.5 model. I have 6.7 inch wrist. Wanted an Aquis before, but it was too big for me. Think this size will fit perfect. I ordered exactly the same but only with the rubber strap. Maybe will get the bracelet later too. Hopefully will get the watch today. Keep up the good work!
Have an Oris Aquis Source of Life on a bracelet, love at first sight and try-on. Looking to get a smaller daily diver and this may well be it. Thanking you for sharing and helping to burn down my already weak bank account. Hoping for some different dials colors from Oris in this size, blue, green, charcoal, whatever. A very healthy, happy, and productive New Year to you and yours!! Ciao.
Just acquired this timepiece today. Need to size it but i cannot wait to have it as my daily. I also have a Tudor BB58 as well as a Rolex GMTII Rootbeer along with others. However this Oris checks off all the boxes. Would love to have Oris start making more inhouse movements.
The Sellita movement is apparently less prone to positional variation than the 2824. I have a spot open in my collection for a diver, definitely considering the 39.5 Aquis. I think I would get it on the Oris rubber because it looks so darn comfortable.
Hi Chris, I really enjoy your calm but still enthusiastic review style. Do you personally have any strap options for this watch or do you prefer to wear it on the stainless steel bracelet? The date window at the six o'clock position is tugged away perfectly.
Im thinking whether i should buy exactly this one (fully brushed) or Christopher Ward C60 Elite 1000. Oris is a bit cheaper a specially that it is available locally and I don't need to pay extra 500 Euro import tax. What is Your opinion? Is it worth to go with CW?
How did you find one that's fully brushed????? Was it done aftermarket or is the an actual brushed variant? Looks sooooooooooooooo much better fully brushed! Also what is the size and wrist feel like compared to a submariner (or a ceramic sub)? I tend to go for smaller watches around 40mm or less but since the aquis has integrated lugs I'm worried that it will wear much smaller and look too small for a modern looking diver
Thanks for the review man, I'll probably pull the trigger on the blue version. Have you noticed how long does it glows in the dark for? Seems like it dies real quick.
What's the reference number for that particular model? I like it with the brushed bezel and bracelet links. I'll end up ordering online and want to make sure I get the right one, as not everyone has the same models.
Happy New Year!!! I have been on the fence with the 43.5 model and I just saw your vid yesterday when you first got the 39.5 model lol. I use to like larger watches but after I bought my seiko sary079 cocktail time which is 40.5mm I fell in love with watches around that size. I was thinking that 39.5 would be a little too small but after seeing it on your wrist which is about the same size as mine it looks great!! It has wrist presence but not over powering. Great vid👌 I might check it out for my bday this year😎
@@ChrisMarshall1978007 thanks so much and I think I have made my decision for my bday present after watching this! I most definitely will be checking it out! 🍻
Hi. is there a 41.5mm version at this price point? and lastly, i dont understand differences between the date and diver (or are they the same?) sorry for stupid question!

I got the green one, it's stunning. I had an Aquis a few years ago as well and they have really improved the quality since then.

Matt Brackmann Oris makes a good value watch. I agree.

Great review, thanks. There are not enough long term watch reviews out there, so I appreciate this.
JMS thank you 🙏
'In house movement' sounds great until service time. That's when you are happy to have a generic movement no?
kleinbottled79 That’s exactly what I thought about when buying my 30’s anniversary watch... I ended up buying an ETA based one.

How much does the service cost anyway?
My first foray into the luxury level right here. I got the green and liked it so much a got the dark blue a few months later.
@Jaime Yang my black bay is the 41mm but my aquis are 39mm
Thanks for the review. Keen to pick one up. The fact they do it in 39.5 makes all the difference 👍
Thank you for sharing your overview. It is very useful because I'm considering to buy an Aquis II Clean ocean LE with beautful azure dial.
The new Aquis has polished outer links. But actually, I like the brushed bracelet on this one much better. Nice review, thanks!
Thank uou
The best looking Aquis so far. The size is perfect, the newer hands are great, love the lume, might pull the trigger on this one, wish you buy the rubber strap separately for a reasonable price.
they made a 40mm version briefly before discontinuing. proportions are better, not as chunky :)
Thank god 🙏 men, so many people doing reviews and never give the Lug to Lug measurement, thanks for you review 👍🔥

I picked up the 43 green dial version. A stunning watch. Everything feels solid. I'm enjoying the experience. Screwed links too
Does it have a screw down crown?

Yes it does.
As a true review, we would appreciate hearing some of the negatives. No watch is perfect, but all of yours are just wonderful.
It has no negatives!
I’m getting one next month. I already own a blue 43mm and I love it.
I have owned ceramic bezels and watches for over 10 years, I have never marred one at all, I am surprised you did

aschaphi That’s awesome congratulations on your new watch
How did it fit?? I'm 6.5 wrist and debating between this and the 41??
Since you took the case back off to adjust,I would get pressure tested before swimming or diving........just sayin.

On this model yes

Mohammad Zaman They make it in a 43mm now.
I would def pull the trigger for a brushed finish. Tool watch essential.
