    I rewatched this again just now. Mike Dean, Bido, NO Joe, and Mr. Lee are production geniuses and Rap-A-Lot in the 90s and 2000s was so crazy and still honestly slept on. Just so many classics. Thx for this interview

    Mike Dean is one of my favorite producers of all time. I been a fan of him since the 90's, when he was an in-house producer for Rap-A-Lot Records, producing some of the best beats that I ever heard for rappers like Scarface, Yukmouth, Geto Boys, A-G-2-A-KE, Z-Ro, Do Or Die, The Ghetto Twinz, etc...

    I have to say, I love all of your interviews DH but this one is hands down...my favorite. Most of Houston has no idea who or what Mike Dean has done for our city as far as music goes. He is definitely our diamond in the ruff.

      When he mentioned "The Great Eddie Hazel" he got me. M.D was annoyed to be great. You hanging out in 3rd Ward casually playing with one of the greatest "rock and roll" guitars of all time, the same guy Prince said was the greatest Axe-man he every shared a stage with , Eddie The GOAT !!! Freaking Amazing!

    I could listen to Mike Dean talk for days. Dude has so many stories to tell. I really do hope he puts out a book 1 day. Or a documentary even. I cant believe RAL and the recording spots were all close to where I lived and I never even knew it all those yrs. I wanted to rap so bad but never was able to get my foot in any doors bc I was so young and my parents werent down with the idea.

    Being from d.c rap-a-lot and facemob was what we was bumping when we turned the go go off. But being young and reading the inserts of the c.d’s all you seen was mike dean and all the songs especially my favorites. I been searching on RUclips to hear about his connection wit rapalot but when I would search all it would talk about is his songs with Travis Scott. Music wise he a goat many don’t talk about

    This is another awsome rare interview from mr donnie H.I always heard of Mike dean from face cuz hes my goat and knew he was a heavy hitter in the production and engineering side of the hip hop scene.Then when lil J put in his book about him producing on kanye and Jay z shit and he seemed like he felt some type of way about it,it made me even more curious about this guy,but there aren't many interviews or stuff to see or read about Mike dean.Just the same way I waited for years to hear what happened between flip and succa free and I got all those answers thru the hump interview brought to you by none other then Mr donnie H again.In the first 5 minuites he was talking about angleton and freeport,I went to angleton high school and work in freeport,crazy he taught the class at angleton high school thats how advanced he was. Anyway preciate the interview donnie real talk brother keep up the good work.

      Yeah, Mike Dean did a great job on the Z-Ro albums they worked on together, specifically "The Life of Joseph W. McVey", "Let The Truth Be Told" and "I'm Still Livin". Mike Dean did a phenomenal job on those albums.
