- ☞ 👀 Today we share all our updates on what has been going on with our HDT truck for our #RVLife. We are slowly organizing our HDT to be able to have all our different areas ready to start traveling in a few weeks. We share how long our HDT is and each of our storage areas. How do you register your HDT as a RV in your State. Each State has different requirements.
We also explore how easy it is to take your older RV and breath new life in it by giving it a new paint job. www.CDICustomPaint.com is a great resource to start getting answers. Can you design an overhead storage on a pulley system? Life jackets, etc.? Lower it when you need things off of it, and raise it when your done.
Have you seen, "hdt truck/rv with solar//boondock rv "on Suite Travels?" every option explained-short medium and long." RV haulers with Gregg? GO, GO Chicken foot. ; P

Paint the dog on the front of the truck RED. Name the truck " Red Rover" 'Red rover, Red rover, come over'
If I had the money I'd like a Volvo 860 with a full solar package, no rust bed from RV haulers, and a Living Vehicle HD30 or the Brinkley model G. I love the green!

CB lingo Chicken coop is a weigh station. Someday you can say,You got Chicken Foot in the Bulldog haulin the stage coach being followed by my Pretty seat cover in the Hen house, Bring it on! LMAO!!

Just a note. The bulldog on the hood is symbolic. Gold means all of the equipment on the truck is Mack. Chrome means at least 1 component isn't made by mack.
Well that is a fun fact! Thanks for sharing - we painted him Black so just messed all of that up!

In the State of KS Todd had to go take the test for a non commercial Class A license

FYSA, after 3 months of an HDT we moved away for it. You state if an issue you have places such as Loves. FYSA, most places like that will only deal with commercial drivers. Had an older Volvo and best bet is make sure you have roadside. Coachnet is amazing.

I’ve been looking at building a custom Newell coach. They tell us the paint job for a typical Newell is $150k!! Just wonder why the exorbitant difference.
If you can guess or have an idea, I’d appreciate your thought.
All I can say is WOW!!
Love it! ❤ But Jack says you might want to move your safety equipment and anything you might need if you're stuck on the side of the road, because using the storage on the back deck of the HDT won't be accessible when the SpaceCraft is attached. Just a thought....
Todd, whenever you get in or out of your HDT, you should be facing towards the truck, keeping at least 3 points of contact for “safety” reasons. It’s a little taller than other vehicles, and any miss steps could tragic.
I noticed you don’t have mud flaps on the HDT. Required in some states and provinces. Also will protect your valterra valve. Love the paint job

I have an older Holiday Rambler Class A that I painted myself. Go big or go home. I should have gone home, it was a big job.

If that truck has a mack engine and running gear, when you break down it's going to be expensive and harder to get parts. Especially out west.

Todd, I dont think that compartment behind the fifth wheel plate is a good place to keep your safety equipment, When you have your trailer attached you wont be able to open the door. At least thats what I see,
keep the HDT name Mack and name the trailer N Cheese

I dont think I would store the hoses, tire repair kit or anything else in that compartment behind the hitch. How would you get to it if you needed it.. with the trailer hooked up?

Yes that is correct a used HDT and modifications were less than our new 3500. Who knew?? We didn’t!

Be careful with the truck tanks. If one of those tires blow those tanks will be torn to bits.
