I ordered one during a short, unadvertised window of Amazon Prime Days when the price dropped to $339 USD. Shortly after, the price went right back to $420. I'm still waiting to get it to see if it's a 2023 model with the reset-in-direct-sunlight problem. Incidentally, there's a hand re-alignment mode. With main time on the display, pull out the crown, then press and hold the 10 o'clock pusher for about 5 seconds. The pusher at 8 o'clock selects which hand to adjust. Turning the crown will move the selected hand forward or back. The seconds hand can only go forward, though. Align all the hands to 12 o'clock, then push the crown back in when your happy with the alignment.
At one time, this was the most expensive watch i owned. Sold it because i went down the luxury path. Now years later, i re-purchased this one again because you know that feeling of always wanting more? Yeah well for me it turned out it's because retro designs is what truly makes me happy. Just the 80's nostalgia. Got the Citizen Jp-2000 for the same reason. Sold off a few luxury watches because they don't give me the joy like these retro designs do.
I think in a way that is the best thing to realize… the watch should make you happy in the first place… and the fact it is a luxury watch, doesn’t mean it will… this watch is full of nostalgia and testosterone! Thanks for this comment, hombre
I got mine about a year ago and absolutely love it. Mine has spot-on bezel alignment. My only gripe is that the steel strap keeper has VERY sharp points. They're absurdly sharp for something that will rest directly against the skin. I actually took a file and a knife-sharpening strop to it to round off the points, and it was a big improvement. I find that the strap does pick up dirt, sweat residue, etc - but it cleans up nicely with just some water and an old toothbrush.
Yeah, I completely miss the keeper! I wanted to say I love what it looks like, but hate how sharp it is… but overall I absolutely love the watch and completely understand it’s popularity…. Cheers!
I love my Arnie. I NEVER thought I would buy another digital watch after I started buy "grown up" watches, but this one feels so genuine somehow (maybe because it's so retro??). I actually really like the strap keep; even though it's big and sharp, it's comfortable on the wrist. My ONLY gripe is the screen material, as I've already given it a tiny scratch and I'm not rough with it. But still, it's on my wrist more than almost all my others.
No wonder! The watch in this review is on loan from best friend ( as I mentioned in description) and it only makes me to buy one for myself 🤦♂️ it is an awesome piece… And yes, the hardlex crystal is in the end just fancy name for mineral crystal and I would very much prefer Sapphire… but you can’t have it all 😂 still the watch could be classified as legal steroid, considering how much testosterone it packs… congrats to yours!! And cheers for watching
Biggest downside is not having a countdown timer alarm, that would make it the perfect "One Watch Collection". Even though, I've went through and got me the SNJ029 heheh.
Yeah, this is quite strange that they didn’t include a countdown timer tbh… it would make sense on this watch… but there is a lot of things I don’t understand to 😂 cheers
Nice video. I traded a Citizen Promaster Titanium for this one. I loved it initially, but then I noticed that when in direct sunlight, the display would shut off and the watch would reset itself. This happened every time the "solar" watch was exposed to the sun. The guy I traded it for was nice enough to take it back. I did some research and seems like a common issue.
Oh I didn’t know about that one in particular, I heard about some units that haven’t been exposed to the sun light- the movement would get a bit “sticky” and loose time a lot, but it would fix it self with daily wear… it might be overheating issue, I know the early gshock 2100 turned off their screen when exposed to too much sun light
@@renatocastelo48 from what I've read this issue mainly affected 2023 watches sold in the US market. I deliberately exposed my 23 manufactured model to sunlight for a few hours after I bought it and it's been fine.
@@S-Ltd1000I have one on the way. Holding my breath to see if needs to go back or if it's a keeper. If the weather doesn't cooperate, I can blast it with about 35,000 lumens to find out. 😁 I'm hoping for a 2022 manufacturing date.
Hi! Had to have a look what I was wearing that day 😂 it is the San Martin I made a video about before, it is on a Nato strap from CNS.com - they have wrinkled nato straps that are absolutely amazing - this one is basic grey but have few more - mustard for my flightmaster is currently my favorite
If you really want the screen at the bottom, the SNJ03x series has it there. It also adds a depth meter and water temperature sensor. It's calibrated for salt water, so the reading may be off in fresh water, or a pool. Still no count-down timer, though.
casette futurism, the watch. hunted down an snj025 rather than springing for a new mudmaster. only downside is that it squeaks: squeaky strap, squeaky crowns. the metal fastener looks cool, but scratches easily.
Ah I haven’t actually noticed the strap squeaking 😁 which I am grateful for- that would drive crazy… the metal fasteners on seiko’s straps are super cool looking most of the times - I somehow don’t mind it scratching- That kinda adds the character for me :) cheers!!!
The Arnie I think is way too large for my 6.25 inch wrist but I enjoy watching your videos because I love your voice. It's very calming! Random question but what is your favourite watch in your collection?
I would give it a go, it really wears great and the size on paper doesn’t say it all in this case… and thank you very much! Sometimes I feel silly still making these videos… To my favorite watch… I think it must be still my Alpinist… partly because it was a gift, partly because I really wanted it for a long time
I have the same size wrist, and it wears fine. I didn’t buy it for the longest time because “it’s too big”, but when I finally tried it, I was amazed. It seems way smaller than the specs suggest.
Thank you, hombre! As far as I know they didn’t… rather discontinued the model whatsoever… but I read it happens in extreme cases when the watch is exposed to a really hot sunlight and overheats
@@WatchWatch-ck6xlI saw a RUclips short that demo'd the problem happening within seconds of direct sunlight. Being a Short, though, they didn't elaborate on the state of the watch going into the demo. They didn't talk, at all, in fact.
Sorry Bruh, I think you need to PUMP IT UP some more to be able to put on that ARNIE...........you're filling some massive ARNOLD SHOES when you put that watch on!!!
i think they have already discontinued almost all if not all the the new arnie design models. people didn't really like those, maybe because of the higher price.
@@WatchWatch-ck6xl you know, I kinda disagree on the price. It is expensive, but I've spent the same or more on other watches that were "worth it" bit not had nearly as much thrill from wearing them. I guess it's about perspective. The parts may not be worth the price, but I don't feel ripped off at all.
That is kinda exactly what I said int he video at the end… with these watches you’re buying into different value… like if you want the best value for money only there is nothing that can beat Gshock square, but that is not why we are in this hobby 😁
I didn't realize that Seiko disco'd these. The price, directly from Seiko, is definitely a bit much, but I've seen it as low as $250... but I wasn't familiar with that website, so I kept watching Amazon and snapped one up when it went down to $339, unannounced, and unadvertised for a very short time. Now, the question is, will mine have the sunlight-reset problem when it arrives? 🤞 For a good one.
@@NoNonsense316 not these that you see in the video were discontinued, but the newer more premium models of the Arnie that had the digital display at the bottom.
I got one about a week ago. It's hardly been off my wrist and wears way smaller than 48mm. Managed to get mine for £360 with no alignment issues.
That is a good snap!!! Congrats to yours and completely understand that you don’t want to take it off… it is a great wearing experience

Great video - BUT wasn’t the original Arnie watch with the digital screen at the bottom of the dial?
Hi! No the original looked almost exactly the same like this one… just smaller :)
The one with the digital screen at the bottom was a prop for Commando movie (with the famous countdown we all wanted to get 🎉)
