Can you BELIEVE how small of a world it is? I am researching more about the Sony Alpha series and wanted to see how the A6400 and Sigma 16mm looks like, vlog-style and your review is definitely selling it for me. But during your Home Depot portion, I realized that you live in my neighborhood! Of course, I'm not going to disclose the area but I'm going to the Best Buy next to the Home Depot to pick up the body in the next hour. LOL! Thanks so much for this review, sir!
LOL. That's awesome. It always feels good to see your own city in videos. That's how I feel when I watch Evan Ranft vids. Good luck with the camera, I'm sure you'll have fun with it.
The image does look great! It doesn't feel too narrow, a smidge wider would be great but like you said, it gets the job done. This was a very thorough video!
This is great man. I have a 6400 with sigma 1.4 16mm that i used maybe only 7 times. Reason being I was gifted a small point and shoot for my vlogs the Sony ZV-1. 2022 I might have to go back and use this set up as my main camera in home primarily.
Yeah you can't go wrong either way. The Zv-1 is super convenient and doens't stand out as much as this. But the bokeh and low light capability of this setup is great too.
Hi thanks for watching. All the music is from Epidemic Sound. I don't remember all the tracks I picked. Thanks for watching. Love the 18-105. I've done a couple of videos on it as well. It's the most versatile Sony APSC lens. But something about the prime look of the Sigma takes things over the top.
@@CreativeTechLab I saw your videos and decided it would be a great choice for my first lens! Question, when you film, do you leave the aperture wide open on your lenses or do you find the “sweet spot” but stopping down on the f-stops? Does it really get you a clear and sharper image??
Thanks for watching. No I haven't done a specific video on HLG. Just a few on how to work with it in Final Cut Pro. But I'll be making a Picture Profile video soon.
Killer video. I was wondering - at the very beginning of the video when you're speaking to the camera (with the hat on :) ) are you using the Sony A6400 or the A7 III? I'd love to know as I'm deciding between the two! Thanks a ton!!!!!!!!
Hi thanks for watching. The intro was shot with the A7iii since I was holding the Sigma. However if you want to see what that same setup looks with the a6400 and the sigma there’s the scene in this video, but the lighting was a little off. This video here is a more accurate representation: ruclips.net/video/nzI63AA4A4E/видео.html

Hi thanks for watching. Yes I did the color grading in Final Cut Pro. I shoot with the HLG picture profile. It gives me a great starting point, so it doesnt take too much to add in post.
Hi thanks for watching. The Sigma 16mm is an awesome photography lens. It’s really sharp and the autofocus is great. But it does depend on what you’re shooting if it will be best. With the crop factor it’s equivalent to 24mm. So you may also want to look at the Sigma 30mm or 56mm as well.
Mate this looks SO good. Curious how you have your mic setup cuz you also sound super clean (I also have the rode micro). Been trying to find what level to set the mic to in the camera for best Vlogging on the the a6400 w/ the Sigma 16mm
Normal people looking at the video for vlogging and I'm here wondering how long it took to edit this video and at what frame rate you should the driving broll of those trees in slow mo where the camera was close to your steering wheel
LOL. That's because you know from experience. That's how I feel when I watch Casey Neistat videos and he seamlessly switches to multiple camera angles inclduding the drone shots. Videos like this do take a little longer to edit, even just finding the right music to fit the scenes can b e tedious. But the good thing about vlogs is that they happen in chronological order, so there's a natural progression to the edit. As far as broll, I'm using 120fps. I'm kind of addicted to that frame rate for broll. But particularly during a bright day when I can utilize a higher shutter speed I go for the 120p over 60.
Thanks for the video ! I'm searching for a lens for my sony a6400 for my vlog and my workout, so that's perfect! 😁Would you say the video is a real improvement from the kit lens (16-50mm) ? Or you can't see that much difference ? Thank you !!
Hi thanks for watching. I don't have any experience with the kit lens. However the lower aperture of the Sigma will definitely be a noticeable change. Another thing to think about is maybe looking into lighting before getting a new lens. But that will depend on your shooting situations.
Very helpful. Am considering vlogging and, based on your rec, the Sigma 16mm seems to be a solid choice, How did you link your RUclips post to FB? A great way for your site to be found.
Have the sigma 16 but i find it a little shakey without OSS built In and itS not wide enough for me lol. So i purchased the sony 10-18 and been loving it so far.. not as sharp as the sigma 16 for vlogging but 10mm focal length ive been loving 👍🏼
Sounds great. The 10-18 is definitely a more traditional focal length for vlogging. So that's a great choice. This video was more so to prove that you could use the Sigma and still get a decent looking vlog.
Bro! If i have to buy a single lens even without kit lens for a6400 which lens should i go for? 16mm or 30mm or any other??suggest one that gets the job done for videos, landscape & potrait
If you're looking for something to cover a wide range, go for a zoom. The Tamron 17-70 2.8 for apsc is probably your best bet. But Sigma also recently came out with a 18-50 2.8 as well.
Bro I am just confused getting into this I have budget of 1500.. 1000 for 6400 but I am confused which lens to get in 500? Like I want a great blue on 16mm but also sometimes 50mm
Depends on what you're shooting. But if you need a zoom the Tamron 17-70 is a great option, but it's a little out the range. Or you may be able finds the Sony 18-105 f4, which is also a great lens aorund that price.
Hey thanks for watching. I really didn't do anything special. The camera is on a gorillapod 3K that heelps me grip it and adds a littlee weight. But otherwise really just overtime you learn to hold the camera steady and walk a little more softly. And with the 16mm being a 24mm equivalent, it's kind of wide so the micro jitters are less noticeable.

💯
Does this sigma 16mm effectively have the same width as a 24mm due to the crop sensor if used on a Sony a7iii?
On apsc, it is indeed 24 mm equivalent
Yes. If you put it on the A7iii you'd need to use it crop/super 35 mode, and that would make it 24mm equivalent.
