Arya actress was a cute tomboy when she was a young girl, now she´s unfortunate looking and somehow lost her charisma completely. Her acting was better when she was a kid. Sansa actress can´t act and looks mediocre. I always laughed when Sansa was described as some super beauty in the show. There is no similarity between her and Lara Croft when it comes to looks and charisma/"energy".
I know neither actress is British, but both Alexandra Daddario or Adria Arjona could pull off this role. They are both curvy and they would just have to fake a British accent. Granted, Adria Arjona, being Latina, has a tan, but so does Lara in many of the renderings of her.
Arjona also has the acting chops. Amazing in Andor. But yeah, the American to British accent usually doesn't go well. Other direction, yes. But Yanks doing Brits (as Drinker might say) usually doesn't work.
Emilia Clarke was in a romance film called "You Before Me." She was adorable, but the message of the movie was horrifying: "If your life sucks, end it."
No, the message of the movie is that just because you're now paralysed doesn't mean your personal responsibility and choices are now void and he was free to decide what he wanted.
I have to admit when I saw him in "Game of Thrones" I yelled out 'My Dear, Sweet Brother, Numpsay'. Loved him in "The Golden Child" with Eddie Murphy. Such a great villain.
@@CMCAdvanced Oh, so sorry! I forgot all of us who knew who Charles Dance was already weren't "modern". We just borrowed fucking time machine to come here and comment on youTube in 2024 to twattish ignorant Yanks. Apologies. Jesus bloody wept.
The problem why Lara Croft wont work is the character is designed to be a sexy action hero. Theyll take the sexiness away to appease "modern audiences" that pretty much kills 90% of the buzz. Theyll then make it drawn out and dull which will eliminate another 5% of those left and instead of Lara Croft being charming, witty and desirable theyll make her an insufferable girl boss who will belittle every single man she comes across. This will take away anyone else left.
Lena Headey is great in DREDD... her character has real depth and complexity, same with the Sarah Connor Chronicles, a very under-rated show for what they had to work with.
Last Action Hero wasn't horrendous! It's a brilliant parody, one of the best. Awful underrated, aparently also by people who know a thing or two about movies. :-(
And he was the bad vampire in Dracula Untold, which I wish had gone somewhere. It was the initial movie of the Dark Universe before Universal did another one for The Mummy.
Emily Blunt would be a much better pick. She can be classy and badass. From Game of Thrones Rose Leslie (who plays Ygritte) would be a much better choice. She's wise cracking, charismatic, and more athletic than Sophie Turner (Sansa).
I could be wrong but Sophie Turner currently is in a series called "Joan" (Series: She plays a thief/Protagonist) which I think is part of what is influencing the decision. Personally I wanted Hayley Atwell
Lara Croft dosent have a chance with today’s woke Hollywood culture. I think Rhona Mitra, Kate Beckinsale or Hayley Atwell would have been the best choice.
Ironically Emilia Clarke would've been a much better cast for Lara Croft than Sophie Turner, despite Clarke's inability to be a convincing action star. With the right director, Emilia Clarke could've been a satisfactorily mediocre tomb raider (which, in the current movie climate, would've made the movie a super blockbuster)
She was also a bad choice for Jean Grey. She was a good choice for Sansa Stark. But that's about it. Lara Croft is supposed to exude confidence and sex appeal. Jean Grey was a model lusted after by Cyclops and Wolverine. Terrible miscasting.
I agree. Her character was written for the GOT series to be kinda limp. She went from an aristocratic child to a tortured victim of countless horrors the TV show only slightly touches. The post wedding scene in the novel is way more intense/graphic. But agreed I thought she was strong in Joan.
Say what you want about Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life. They were pretty abysmal movies but Jolie was flawless as Croft. Absolutely flawless. Looks, acting, amazing charisma and nailing the character to perfection. They'll never find anyone to top her as Croft.
For what it's worth, Aiden Gillen (Littlefinger) got a few decent roles after GOT. Aberama Gold in Peaky Blinders, John Reid in Bohemian Rhapsody (say what you will about the movie but it was a very visible movie, and his performance was good). Before that, he was mostly known for being CIA MAN in Dark Knight Rises, or rather, the memes.
GOT vets will always be known as those “I’ve seen that person before” level of actor fame. Except for Dinklage who will be know for torpedoing hundreds of aspiring actors’ careers.
Charles Dance has played TWO of the most iconic villains in movie history as Sardo Numspa and Benedict! I will always remember him! ... and man did he has a sexy rack in that mini-skirt at the end of Ali G.!!! 🤤😂
She's not a good actress, like Drinker said, " she's got the charisma of a wet bag," and physically, she doesn't fit the role. So naturally, she might get it the part. Which is a perfect sign of the quality of the show. The other possible actresses aren't better. Especially androgynous girl from Dark Fate.
If you're producing a LaraCroft movie, the order of priority for necessary traits in an actress should be: 1) Confidence. She makes her own fate, doesn't take crap. 2) Brown Hair With A Braid. Can be dyed but still vital. 3) Athleticism. Must convincingly climb a rope or do martial arts. 4) Lips and Eyebrows. For the classic look. 5) Boobs. Nothing wrong with a busty actress to complete the classic silhouette. In my opinion none of the casting choices have more than 2 of these traits. Here is my quick list: The "Too Old But Gold" category: Hailey Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Kate Beckinsale. Here is a more realistic shortlist: Eiza Gonzalez, Grace Caroline Curry, Alexandra Daddario, Kaya Scodelario. And although they are blondes, I think Vanessa Kirby or Jodie Comer would work.
@jamescarr1265 yes perfect choice. Around the time she was doing Underworld and that Van Hellsing movie. They should have got her for a Tomb Raider movie then.
Someone need to write the post election memo to the studios whispering them that girl boss trope is about as out as them no show socks. If box office mathematics isn’t already doing it for them.
Sophie Turner as Lara Croft? Yeah... Sure... She dosent even have the physique to play the role - and everywhere after GoT where i saw her she acted wooden and stiff. Bad choice. Really bad choice.
Gwendoline Christie, who played Brienne of Tarth in Game Of Thrones, actually did a great job in Netfilx, playing the principal in "Wednesday" and Lucifer in "The Sandman". Great actor, besides her huge size.
Wonder if they should have gone with her in green makeup as She Hulk (would find a smaller actor with similar facial features for non-Hulk Jennifer). The show should have spent money on the writing and just have She Hulk when required. Don't need CGI for everything especially a streaming series that should be done on a budget.

"Well, if i had an anus id be soiling myself"
Still having a tiny sliver of hope that he'll come back in the Monsterverse riding on Mecha King Ghidorah.
The only Stark I wanted to die in both the novels and show.
I know Hayley Atwell is in her early 40s but couldn't they just make a film about an older Lara? I think a couple of movies like that could work, I mean Henry Cavill is around the same age as Atwell and he's doing all the things 🤘
If she was cast as Lara Croft this echo chamber would have a meltdown over her jaw.
@@backup368 What's up with her jaw? Sorry I'm clueless about this 😅
@@andrewheard3099 According to his circle, any person that has a wide jaw is a man.

I wish her the best and hope she does well and nails the role, and I hope the writers give her an authentic Laura Croft to work with, but hope is all I have.
I wish they stopped trying to make GoT kids a thing. They're one hit wonder, all of them, and they just can't hack it on their own in the industry
Best of them was probably Robb Stark and Joffrey. And the actor who played Joffrey was getting real harassment.
Joffrey retired from acting after GoT. Said he wanted to do something else.
@@Bonesawisready926 The actor who played Joffrey was too good in playing a spoiled sadistic psych0. He has an actual talent.
Art Parkinson went on to Star in Kubo and The 2 Strings
I don't know if Netflix were smart she would've cast Sophie Turner as Triss Marigold
There IS one GoT actress who could pull off Lara Croft... she was also in one of the Hunger Games movies.. Natalie Dormer
Rose Leslie was probably the most talented young cast member, but also decided to be a responsible mom. Related?
I know neither actress is British, but both Alexandra Daddario or Adria Arjona could pull off this role. They are both curvy and they would just have to fake a British accent. Granted, Adria Arjona, being Latina, has a tan, but so does Lara in many of the renderings of her.
Arjona also has the acting chops. Amazing in Andor.
But yeah, the American to British accent usually doesn't go well. Other direction, yes. But Yanks doing Brits (as Drinker might say) usually doesn't work.
Still remember her as Bad Sansa in that X-men movie😂😂😂😂
Hayley Atwell would have been a really good Lara Croft, she's British and has the assets to be Lara Croft
Totally agree
Too old
@@doreck07 Hayley Atwell would have been a good Lara Croft 10 to 15 years ago
Emilia Clarke was in a romance film called "You Before Me." She was adorable, but the message of the movie was horrifying: "If your life sucks, end it."
Who wrote that? The Canadian healthcare system?
No, the message of the movie is that just because you're now paralysed doesn't mean your personal responsibility and choices are now void and he was free to decide what he wanted.
@@jonathandunn730 Of course he was free to make that choice, even though it was a selfish, myopic, and morally reprehensible one.
She was also in an episode of Futurama. In a romantic episode. Where she falls in love with Zoidberg. Who smells bad. And her nose doesn't work.
I saw her in a Christmas movie, where she was also good. She has this cute, adorable girl energy, and that's the kind movies that suits her.
They should cast Rhona Mitra. The one that was the original basis and original Lara Croft
Was she really?
Someone like her. She is too old for the role.
She's like 60
I've seen enough british woman on the interwebs to know, they could've casted a stacked unknown that would do way better.
Yeah, the physical resemblance is uncanny.
Charles Dance was a legend already, what the fuck? "Show his potential"? WTF?
Charles Dance is the closest thing we've got in the modern day to Christopher Lee, and these jags have the nerve...
To a modern audience. Hell, I didn't know who he was until Game of Thrones. You're getting your panties in a bunch for no reason
@@CMCAdvanced
OK Zoomer.
First role I remember Charles Dance from was bad guy in Golden Child with Eddie Murphy, from 80 something. He plays sinister characters well.
I agree modern day Lara Croft makes her comes across dull and boring.
I remember Nerdrotic jokingly saying just hire Sydney Sweeney but dubbing her with someone else😂 I’d take that over Sophie Turner for real tho
She won't be able to aim with her cross eyes tho
@saintniccage2818 Worth it to have her tho
Lena Headey is great in DREDD... her character has real depth and complexity, same with the Sarah Connor Chronicles, a very under-rated show for what they had to work with.
I miss that show
Last Action Hero wasn't horrendous! It's a brilliant parody, one of the best. Awful underrated, aparently also by people who know a thing or two about movies. :-(
One of my favourite 90's movies.
Emily Blunt is the actress to play her, but it would need to be a film or a real big budget show.
too old.
She's 42
I love Emily Blunt but no, Lara Croft she is not.
10 years too late, and she's as flat as a flounder.
Not pretty enough
If you have to have a Brit play Lara, someone like Kate Beckinsale would have been perfect back in the day (cup size aside :).
With a face that beautiful, nobody will be thinking of cup size hahaha
Credit where it's due, Sophie turner was pretty good in Joan recently
Charles Danse was the villain in The Golden Child, an Eddie Murphy movie.

Emily Blunt learning from Angelina Jolie would be Gold, IMO
I could be wrong but Sophie Turner currently is in a series called "Joan" (Series: She plays a thief/Protagonist) which I think is part of what is influencing the decision. Personally I wanted Hayley Atwell
Lara Croft dosent have a chance with today’s woke Hollywood culture. I think Rhona Mitra, Kate Beckinsale or Hayley Atwell would have been the best choice.
Ooh I forgot about Rhona Mitra. Great choice.
Kate B's recent movie on Netflix was awful, and i love her..
@@darrents44 One has to appreciate the gall producers had to set up a sequel instead of an ending. Like, CTFO.
Evangeline Lilly in the 2000s would be 👌
As soon as I heard that Phoebe Waller-Bridge was involved, I knew it would be utter shite!
Lena Heady is a very established actress as well.
Loved every min of this video! You nailed it!
Unless she's been taking acting classes nonstop since x-men apocalypse, there is absolutely no hope for Sophie Turner as Lara Croft.
I want Jim Carry to play Laura Croft in the vein of Veracosa Mistress of Destruction.
That I would watch and pay for.
😂👍
I wish they did a movie of Veracosa back in the day. Would have been awesome.
Soon you can do that, just prompt this to an advanced AI and presto, you can watch your movie.
At this point I wouldn't be suprised if they cast me as Lara Croft.😂😂😂😂
Ironically Emilia Clarke would've been a much better cast for Lara Croft than Sophie Turner, despite Clarke's inability to be a convincing action star. With the right director, Emilia Clarke could've been a satisfactorily mediocre tomb raider (which, in the current movie climate, would've made the movie a super blockbuster)
It would’ve worked because people like Emilia Clarke and probably would’ve given the movie money
Haley Atwell would be ideal. She’s got the best two characteristics
She was also a bad choice for Jean Grey. She was a good choice for Sansa Stark. But that's about it. Lara Croft is supposed to exude confidence and sex appeal. Jean Grey was a model lusted after by Cyclops and Wolverine. Terrible miscasting.
Tomb Raider was iconic with Angelina Jolie.
Not Haley Stackedwell?
Too hot.
Too old but my goodness she is a rocket.
She's old, maybe 10 years ago.
Me Before You - a good film that really suited Emilia Clarke.
Peter Dinklage had roles before GoT and I doubt his career would have been much different
💯
Peter Dicless?
She was actually surprising as Joan in the ITX 'Joan' and wasnt wooden so maybe she has improved as an actor
I agree. Her character was written for the GOT series to be kinda limp. She went from an aristocratic child to a tortured victim of countless horrors the TV show only slightly touches. The post wedding scene in the novel is way more intense/graphic. But agreed I thought she was strong in Joan.
Doesn't matter, still the wrong choice for Lara.
Literally Megan Fox doing a terrible British accent would have been a better choice.
That would sell so many tickets
ew
She's pretty gnarly now after all the surgery.
God... that woman is living proof that hotness has a catastrophic expiry date.
Heck no, she looks like a blow up doll, did you see her in Expendables 4? lol
Never thought I'd see Mr H and the drinker talking together after being subscribed to both for a long time
Pretty sure he’s been on open bar a few times before.
There is only *one* actress who could play Lara Croft, and she already has.
Angelina Jolie.
EXACTLY! The 2001 movie will always be the best one, IMO
She's a skeleton by now...
Alicia Vikander did good in the role in my opinion.
@@kicknowledgesmith8608 She was alright.
@@chasehedges6775 Fair enough, she trained for the role and it showed. I wanted a sequel.
Also Carcetti from the Wire.
GOT vets will always be known as those “I’ve seen that person before” level of actor fame. Except for Dinklage who will be know for torpedoing hundreds of aspiring actors’ careers.
Never liked Sansa. She had the least amount of struggle but still came out Westeros’ BIGGEST WINNER 😃
Bran was king of Westeros, and this came from a guy who never read the books or watched the Show. I prefer LOTR over GOT
@@maxmazzotti6651 Which version of Lord of the Rings would you recommend? I’m new to the franchise but was thinking the Director’s cut?
Charles Dance has played TWO of the most iconic villains in movie history as Sardo Numspa and Benedict! I will always remember him!
... and man did he has a sexy rack in that mini-skirt at the end of Ali G.!!! 🤤😂
The most shocking part is that anyone actually cares about enough Tomb Raider at this point to even be upset at who ever they cast… why?
She's not a good actress, like Drinker said, " she's got the charisma of a wet bag," and physically, she doesn't fit the role.
So naturally, she might get it the part. Which is a perfect sign of the quality of the show.
The other possible actresses aren't better. Especially androgynous girl from Dark Fate.
If you're producing a LaraCroft movie, the order of priority for necessary traits in an actress should be:
1) Confidence.
Here is my quick list:
The "Too Old But Gold" category: Hailey Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Kate Beckinsale.
Here is a more realistic shortlist: Eiza Gonzalez, Grace Caroline Curry, Alexandra Daddario, Kaya Scodelario.
And although they are blondes, I think Vanessa Kirby or Jodie Comer would work.
Evangeline Lilly in the 2000s and perhaps Eliza Dushku in the 2000s would suit as well
But it should have been Kate Beckinsale they missed the opportunity of a lifetime
@jamescarr1265 yes perfect choice. Around the time she was doing Underworld and that Van Hellsing movie. They should have got her for a Tomb Raider movie then.
@@bjrnhalfhand2258 I totally agree

The guy who played Rob was great in 1917. Only a small part but he played it very well
Someone need to write the post election memo to the studios whispering them that girl boss trope is about as out as them no show socks.
If box office mathematics isn’t already doing it for them.
Sophie Turner as Lara Croft? Yeah... Sure... She dosent even have the physique to play the role - and everywhere after GoT where i saw her she acted wooden and stiff. Bad choice. Really bad choice.
Also cries about states with no abortion, all things considered, a good pick for the "modern audience"
@@exhaustguy She seems like a nice lady. Why would you condemn her to act in such a shitty series?
@@kaveiros75 - She is a good character in the comics. Obviously Gao and the gang should never have been involved. It came back to the writing and undisciplined producing.

She was ok as Sansa. She was terrible as Jean Grey. Truly terrible. Like no one would hire her to be an actress again after that.
