One of the least known and most underrated Australian films ever made that was wrongly crucified by the critics. Superb performances from all here - Ben Mendelsohn is as terrific as always, Nadine Garner is totally authentic, Tara Morice is as far as it gets from Strictly Ballroom, and Aden Young proves why he is one of the most outstanding actors this country has ever produced. There is nothing happy about this story, every character is damaged or flawed in some way. The pain of Young’s character is excruciating to watch, one of life’s failures in every sense, and I cannot recall another character in film for whom I have felt such sadness. A fractured world of drag-racing dead-end young adults, all set against the bleak and now largely non-existent backdrop of outer industrial Melbourne.
they hate him because of romper stomper. I think this is a great movie and I wish more movies were particulary in this era. My only criticism was the flash forward editing was unnecessary imo.
Weird fact, the guy who played guitar on this Song was the photography teacher at my school. I always loved this song!
Found this awesome film completely by accident here in the UK years ago as its virtually unknown. This song is one of my all time favourite songs now.
The most underplayed classic 90s aussie rock ballad.
+vladoshi That's for sure, such an awesome piece
This song brings back so many good memories of the 90s for me. Actually made me cry
I miss Melbourne so much
I actually had to figure this song out and write the chords and lyrics down because I couldn't find it anywhere.

Imagine trying to race the worlds most ugliest car, Holden….
Lol...so much nostalgia ...as ugly as it is... it warms my heart
