- Today in Germany, with release of Twilight of the Gods it's time to give their new Monarchist path a spin. Much has changed with this new update so it's best we refamiliarize ourselves with it as best we can.
But along the way some major changes are brewing beneath the surface, as the German navy, unsatisfied with the direction the nation has taken with be making moves to secure their position in newly revived Empire, but do they have what it takes to control the land and sea? We'll see.

If it wasn't apparent by now, no. I didn't get early access to the dlc. But to be fair I literally never asked for it, I was busy, but I wonder if I would ever take that promotion. However, I don't know. It's one of those where I can see the merits either way. So we'll see. Maybe if La Resistance 2 ever happens :D
i think you should take the promotion if paradox ever offers it to you
Grand Admiral Erich "Give me my battleships and I'll take on the Royal Navy" Raeder
12:50 Charles Maurras as German puppet... even though he is the most germanophobic man to have ever existed.
I mean he was arrested for being a collaborator during the Vichy period
@@ryankitzan he was not, not willingly
This officially makes 2 countries that can be led by Admirals
ye the idea of a naval coup is really weird
What’s the other nation?
Oh wait, Miklos Horthy lmao
@@theguy4878 the guy that leads a landlocked nation? lollllllll
@@theguy4878 yeah
And Grand Admiral Johan Mayen
Horthy Miklós moment (atleast germany has a coast and a navy)
This German empire might be somehow more broken than the old one, you can core all of Europe most of Russia and it’s all easy through the economic dependency system
Wait til you play Germany correctly. Makes WC so much better.
It still surprises me they didn't win WW1 tbh , they were broken irl as well.
Can someone teach me how to play lmao I suck@@getsomeboy321
@@andreasl_fr2666 fighting the world while having 3 weak allies is not easy
@@gustavoh5143 that's somewhat revisionist.
The truth is Germany was very close to reaching Paris, twice.
It was a near ran thing.
I've been waiting for someone to show this path, awesome video!
It seems like they bungled having a fun Easter Egg path in favour of a bunch of mediocre Easter Eggs like Punished Eva Braun and Lichtenstein.
A path where Raeder coups the government and buddies up with Horthy and Churchill to conquer the world in the name of naval supremacy would be fun.
Dunno about that, the Finnish Easter egg was pretty much just a name change too. Still think it's the least fleshed out even compared to the new ones
I’m rather fond of the new focus times. It feels rather more impactful of the 70s compared to the more moderate 35s.
The new paths in this DLC are absolutely broken. Both in a bug and a strength related sense. Austria is honestly not that easy, but still unrealistically powerful. You can diplomatically annex all your land back or puppet all countries that hold it. This Germany path also shows how OP these new paths are.
I'll say the same as I said before; mackensen was (and still is) bad balance, but good design for the intended purpose.
No none expect seven of those guys who know Spanish civil war inside out enjoy civil war paths.
Great video as always, but one thing is really bugging me...
Why the heck does Namibia have 4 states, while South Africa proper has only 3?
i will not forgive you for not reclaiming the territory's from poland. I went on a whole quest to get tsingdao from china but didnt even bother with the border gore that was the german polish and hungarian border. Man wtf
Literally unforgivable.
Yeah, your totally correct about the UK ai. Even bittersteel screwed it up
17:19 *Don't think you can just walk in*
I defeated the new UK and the rest of the allies with less than 50k casualties because they decided to remove their fleet from combat, I feel like the UK's AI is a bit inconsistent
A bit indeed
I thought the achievement would have been done by getting Karl Donitz or something like that
Funny enough when hitler died karl donitz took control of Germany for a moment
he was the sucessor.
idk why but new civil war is kinda hard for me, maybe i was unlucky, but it take me around 8 month to beat it
Could make a guide for that if y'all like.
Palese do.@@BubblesZest
You missed rwanda and burundi
That's a mild problem with an easy solution.Just need to integrate the Congo that I've already puppeted,
Can you still do this path if you take the military dictatorship focus I wonder?
Yes, doesn't matter which path you chose. Or maybe commies cannot get this, bur both Kaiser and junta can.
@rakal43 makes more sense for the Junta + I assume u can keep the Wihelm III state modifier the junta has
The German Empire path is laughably easy wth
Is that a problem
@@Lady_Amelia-Eloise yes it is
Germany always was easy. No matter what path. Germany is meant to be the easy mode.
This first Berlin award is cursed af and should not exist. Not only Poland would never hand over half of their nation just like that for nothing, but Hungary wouldn't even want those lands as they were never part of them, except for couple of villages maybe. And of course, let's not forget nor forgive this border gore, Germany doesn't even get silesia, so it looks like a vomit. If you as Germany were making Hungary into Austria-Hungary then yeah, I can see it, considering it's Paradox's game
You didnt take danzing though
Oh wells. The achievement called for former colonies. Not core states, unless you're saying Danzig was a colony lmao.
I would like if you can get donitz in control since he was the leader of Germany after hitlers death
You can also get Johann Hieder for austria..ill let you see for yourself who he is 😂😂😂
Is this the only way to get an admiral in charge? Is it possible to do with Rhineland path? Also is it possible to get both achievements (cap uk while led by admiral and captain us while led by a woman) in the same playthrough?
I have no idea.
15:41 dude it was 1938 ofcourse it was easy
I wish. My practice games weren't that easy despite going in at the same time.
i lost my first GCW in the new dlc lol
7:30 Hungarian dream
we're violating the london naval treaty with this one!1!1!1!!!
