I did consider retroactively amending the Spain ranking to reflect this development, but it wasn't the only path affected by this. The Falangist and Second Republic paths' attack buffs were also broken. I'm not sure it would've changed any of their positions on the ranking, since there were other factors that caused them to be placed where they were. But we'll never know, as we didn't know then.
next update we will learn that half of the focuses/spirit considered OP was actually placebo... i'm kinda surprised that nobody checked if the buffs actually apply in game before this patch
The same thing happened with the Soviet Air Force debuffs. I’d like Paradox to do an April fools where they just turn off all the national spirits without telling us. Some people might take a comically large amount of time to figure out if anything’s different.
It was broken because the spirit used the modifiers offence / defence which didn't work, they got switched to army_attack_factor / army_defence_factor.
7:45, I don't think you should do "Confirm the Fueros" until you control all of the autonomous regions of Spain. Because it doesn't removes the modifier even after the war ends, which is kinda annoying when you're trying to build factories or get more recourses from regions like Galicia or Basque Country
I noticed this problem a while ago while playing with a friend. I sent a few divisions to help him and checked the stats to show him the bonus from the Spirit. Those weren't there for some reason but i thought it just doesnt show up. Now this proofes my concern was right all along.
18:55 It's rather frustrating that while you can form the Kingdom of Franco-Spain AS Spain, you specifically need France to have gone down the Carlist path to do so, unlike France, which simply requires you to have Spain as a puppet.
I feel like I got demoted from General Dumbass to Major Dumbass by this video. WHY did I never think to naval invade with the Northern forces? Could have saved myself so many painful runs lol.
Speaking of broken things from LaR, the "Congress of Paris" focus doesn't give claims to the new states in Africa they in 1.12 (?), although I haven't check if they fixed it yet.
This isn't the first time such a thing has happened I recall the Soviet Airforce Debuff also not having an effect at some point Now I wonder if there's anything else like these
I think we need to do more testing. I've played hundreds of games but today as Germany brand new game is the first time I've ever seen the Carlist spawn, and I was helping the Nationalists. I wonder if the garrisons the nationalists AI goes for has changed or has a chance to be more random which could affect the Carlist spawn chance... Or just a coincidence
10:11 I’ll say it: There is practically no useful difference between the two. Stability bonuses only help in rare situations and consumer goods are just as useful (if not worse given focuses LOVE to give consumer goods bonuses). Both features are so watered down that you should really just go with whoever you think looks cooler or deserves it more.
@@3dcomrade I should’ve said why each bonus is basically worthless. All consumer goods bonuses are made irrelevant by Total Mobilization (and Women in the workforce), and the various methods of gaining base stability usually render things that give you stability pretty much worthless. Neither bonus has anything unique and useful enough to merit picking him over the other. But in this situation, Xavier has the cooler portrait so I’d go with him anyways.
@@3dcomrade I never said he gave base stability. My point is that usually you can get 100% stability WITHOUT any bonuses making said bonuses usually irrelevant. The Party Popularity modifier is also usually enough to counteract stuff like being at war and doing Women in the Workforce.
Question: Does anything wierd happen with the second order civil wars (carlists/anarchists) if you somehow beat the Republicans/Nationalists before they rebel?
@Dedelblute3 They also get the same buffs to recruitble pop, but they don't get the same bonuses for political power, division recovery rate, division defense/attack, and breakthrough
Well, Falangist Spain can core now most of the Americas including southern US and Portugal so it got broken too, Anarchists can core everything but it's too costly and it needs a lot of time to do since you literally core per province
@@TasukuMuncha One of the first things you do as a victorious Anarchist Spain is to cause a civil war in Portugal and form anarchist Iberia. That gives you Macau from which you can invade China for a bunch more manpower. The time required for coring states you get doesn’t change how powerful it is to get more cores. More cores are better than no more cores.
@@Dedelblute3 You can do this strat with carlist too, in a way more safe option to go into china because you can form a colaboration government in Macau quickly with the compliance guy and that government has cores in all china, making it free to invade since you don't require garrisons anymore there

From the patch notes it seems that it could either be that it wasnt granting it at all, or that it only granted jt partially
