Greatest defensive back to ever play the game. Deion Sanders refused to even get physical as stated by his former teammate, Jerry Rice. Lott has 10 more career interceptions, 620 more tackles, more qb sacks, more forced fumbles, more assists and both players played 14 years in the NFL. Ronnie is the only player in NFL history to be an all pro in three different positions.
Safeties do rack up much better stats though as they play the run as well as the pass and have better chances for interceptions bc they play over the top. Still a good point tho
+Spenser Swain He was A great cover corner, actually a cover GOD, But Ronnie started as a CB then switched to Safety, and he could cover almost as well as Deion and could hit like Sean Taylor
I remember in the 80's/90s watching NFL that Ronnie was concussed at least 4 times, this was when he was 49er. As a kid it was like wow what a great hitter. One of my fav players, hope he is ok.
Your Michael Vick polarizing clip is one of my all time favorites and the original vid that put me on to your channel, it takes a special talent to put together clips of video and music that are able to naturally trigger emotions in your body when seen, you have that talent and that video is a great example of that.
This is my favorite of yours. The seamless transition to Bohemian Rhapsody .. the quotes from Ronnie .. he is an inspiring man, more so for his accomplishments off the field than on, but you've so wonderfully captured the essence of who he was as a player.
I love watching these football highlight reels with the thought in the back of my head, "How many of these hits would be penalized today?" It makes for an interesting experience because you realize just how much tougher the NFL used to be!
I was blessed to have been a student at USC when Ronnie Lott was there. He was great and fun to watch in a Trojan uniform. In the 1979 game against UCLA, I had a field level view near the East end zone of the Coliseum. I watched him read UCLA quarterback, Rick Bashore, as he threw a pass out to the Left flat. Lott was right there and he carried it in for a pick six. The game turned into a rout and Lott, no doubt added to the momentum. He was one of the very best in the game.
+Joseph Vincent great vid as always, like Kevin said merry Christmas to u and ur family and happy new year u gave us great vids this year and deserve and applause haha. Keep up the great work man
Greatest defensive back in the history of the Game Played Cornerback played Strong Safety and played Free Safety He was a relentless warrior and a selfless person on the football 🏈 field 1st round pick by the 49ers out of Southern California in 1981 1982 All Rookie Team 7x Pro Bowl 4x Super Bowl champion 9x All Pro 49ers 1981-91 LA Raiders 1991-93 Jets 1993-95 The hardest hitting defensive back of all time No one comes close
My dad said that he saw interviews with receivers during that saying that when they went against that defense, they'd tell their quarterback..."Don't throw me the ball..." 🤣😂
USC grad, Ronnie Lott. Over the course of my lifetime, two Defensive backs quickly come to mind - Ronnie Lott, and Jack Tatum Okay, so I'm old - Whatever!
Ronnie Lott #42 of the San Francisco 49ers Career Accomplishments 10× Pro Bowl selection 8× First-team All-Pro selection All-Pro selection at 3 different positions (cornerback, free safety and strong safety) 2× NFL interceptions leader 4× Super Bowl champion 1980's All-Decade Team Pro Football Hall of Fame selection Statistics 1,146 tackles 73 Interceptions with 730 return yards 16 forced fumbles 17 fumble recoveries 5 touchdowns
+Ronaldo Mendoza Obviously any team that gets to the playoffs may not make the Superbowl, that's football, however, if you watched any football in the last 5 weeks you would know that Seattle is playing some of the best football and has a great chance to make a run, so don't make a video until after that run
Ronnie wasnt a man who loved to win he was a man who hated losing he was taken out of a game because his fingers were broken and one of them were missing bones i saw he was tearing up and i knew why not because he was hurt no he was tearing up because he was gonna miss the rest of the game and for that he said amputate the finger so he can keep playing that's hardcore i don't know of anyone else that can claim they would do that let alone actually do it and on top of that he was a human cannon ball if he felt like you were the key component to winning the game for the other team he wanted you out and his way of getting you wasn't by hitting you and bull dozing you over no he literally threw all of his weight at top speed into you by jumping at the last second then you would fly into the opposite direction wincing in pain not even wondering who hit you because you already know who could it have been other than Ronnie Lott and his precision was outstanding he knew where and when to be and where to place his shot that's the way he played not to be the winner but out of fear of becoming the loser
I would go with Ronnie Lott, Ed Reed, Deion Sanders, and Rod Woodson. Night Train was great, but he could get away with so much more in terms of contact than later defenders could, and the passing game wasn't nearly as developed. He was exploiting what was a comparatively primitive passing game.
+Nicholas Denittis Steelers Fan, look, AB is great but desean has way more speed and explosiveness off the line, and can go up and get it even tho he's short
All around greatest DB ever could hit like Ray Lewis and cover like Ed Reed and get yac after a pick because he played RB and ran a 4.3 and he could play every position in the secondary.
Another good video could be on Jeremy Shockey? He's got some great highlights and was pretty controversial, tiki barber a great RB, Mike alstott was a beast came out of Purdue and basically was creator of truck stick in madden
Facts. Nothing but facts.
No one can deny this one chief, big facts bro bro🙌🏽
Safeties do rack up much better stats though as they play the run as well as the pass and have better chances for interceptions bc they play over the top. Still a good point tho
Gabriel Amacher Deion was a traveling corner, so therefore he traveled with the biggest threat
DaJean Walker doesn’t dispute the fact that safeties can rack up more ints and tackles
BEST DEFENSIVE BACK EVER
***** top 6
+David Musser Charles could strip and cover great, but Ronnie played with 4 fingers on one hand, so....
+Ronaldo Mendoza C Wood only defensive player to ever win the Heisman Trophy
+thug8200 Deion Sanders. No doubt, hands down the GOAT DB
He’s doing great right now
"Chose to get the finger amputated so I could play."-Ronnie Lott
Your Michael Vick polarizing clip is one of my all time favorites and the original vid that put me on to your channel, it takes a special talent to put together clips of video and music that are able to naturally trigger emotions in your body when seen, you have that talent and that video is a great example of that.
I've been asking for a Lott video for so long thank you and great vid
My favorite defensive player in history! Talk about a true warrior❤️
Imagine Sean Taylor and Ronnie Lott in the same secondary? 😳
Get the bodybags out
the opponents rb would die
every on offense will be injured
no Ronnie Lott at corner with Sean Taylor and kam chancellor at safety
Nah Brian Dawkins and Sean taylor
This is my favorite of yours. The seamless transition to Bohemian Rhapsody .. the quotes from Ronnie .. he is an inspiring man, more so for his accomplishments off the field than on, but you've so wonderfully captured the essence of who he was as a player.

I love watching these football highlight reels with the thought in the back of my head, "How many of these hits would be penalized today?" It makes for an interesting experience because you realize just how much tougher the NFL used to be!
I'm glad these videos are around to show that at one time they really did play real football.
+Joseph Vincent Thank you for showing my comment in the intro, made me smile
What a badass! Seen him play many times in person. Miss those day's.
I was blessed to have been a student at USC when Ronnie Lott was there. He was great and fun to watch in a Trojan uniform.

For five to six years Ronnie Lott owned the defensive backfield.
He'd deliver a concrete hit on a small flanker or a corn fed tight end.

My dad said that he saw interviews with receivers during that saying that when they went against that defense, they'd tell their quarterback..."Don't throw me the ball..." 🤣😂

Great job again Joseph. Merry Christmas! I think that there would be more material to work with if you picked JJ watt
Lott would get so many personal fouls if he played today. Not just him but any of the old school players. Just was such a different game.

Probably will never see another back like this again because the NFL no longer wants this type of physicality
All around greatest DB ever could hit like Ray Lewis and cover like Ed Reed and get yac after a pick because he played RB and ran a 4.3 and he could play every position in the secondary.
