This is a killer version of this song! Dave is on fire. I wish he would play more solos these days because no matter what anybody says he will always be the best guitarist in Megadeth!
@@IsaacT22 Marty is truly amazing to say the least, but Dave has this frenetic/psychotic yet controlled fury to his playing that I've never quite heard elsewhere.
Every clip I've seen of this Essen show, Megadeth was in full tilt - this was when they were still dangerous and had a lot to prove. Glad this was all caught on film - excellent footage & performance!
+BuggritHall Ha! A Time Machine , for me , would be like me having a pussy - I'd never leave it alone! Seriously - what I've noticed about most bands (AC/DC, probably one of the few exceptions) is that in their younger days, they're more in the spirit of the performance vs as they get older they become more critical of their playing and try to perfect everything, and it loses that spontaneous , "off the cuff" attitude .
Yeah Jeff Young does play (What looks like) uncomfortably high up with the neck held way up probably like 45 degrees. He can shred though, shit, like really good. He sure is no Chris Poland though, my gawd that guy can play like a select few. My guitar posture is very similar to Mustaine, but I dont play Flying V guitars though. Nor can I shred like him OR Jeff Young. I play a standard ESP Ltd guitar. Novice level of course. But I wanna get this good someday. Megadeth is my favorite of all!
Thrash in the 80s... Very impressive! You die, wake up dead! Great line-up for Megadeth... Plus my better half would kill me if they thought I was sleeping around... LOL.
It means if his girlfriend has found out about the other lovers he will wake up dead. If you say to someone "your dead" when you are pissed off it doesn't literally mean that you will kill them. Either that or she would actually kill him if she had found out.
Ahhh, the good old days when Dave wasn´t into that christian crap, and played these kick ass songs...would love to hear Megadeth play Devil´s Island or Good Mourning...
Some humourous comments lol..bottom line is Dave invented Thrash/Speed single handedly..like him or loath him, that's the facts..personally, in this form they're pretty much untouchable, even without Chris & Gar \m/
IDK how Dave could stand looking at Jeff on stage & at practice holding his guitar all the way up to his neck. I wouldn't have let him in the band. SERIOUSLY! I know that sounds really stupid but I wouldn't be able to handle looking at that.
I wish I had Dave's hair. And his playing skills. Good Lord he can fucking shred
Yeah me too. He's amazingly talented. A god.
Underrated
Practice practice!
Agreed
A hell of a tight rhythm player too
The last lead on this song is one of the greatest in metal history.
Albee213 The first one is the greatest!
Albee213 The first one is the greatest!
not only the last one, also the first one and all the rest of them.
The whole song is great, but I know what you mean. That ending riff is heavy as fuck.
The whole album is a masterpiece of insane solos.
When thrash meets groove...
or when thrash meets jazz
@@absolutedeafness1173 and funk
@FiftyCaliberTV this is a very unpopular opinion, but Contradictions Collapse from Meshuggah had songs from 89-90 and its hella groovy
@Mechanix groove has been around on metal before Pantera
There's been allot of groovey riffs
Pantera only made it popular
@@Gabobow it was released in 1991 though?
2:38 holy crap dave
It's awesome, how Dave can still play like the way he did 30 years ago.
Also the fact he had to relearn guitar because he smashed his hand up some point before the system has failed
This is probably my favorite Megadeth concert ever, it just has a vibe to it that I can't describe, it's just kickass
the sound of Dave's guitar is amazing. 3:15 is like a spaceship with some heavy ass distortion. Just perfect
Best live version of this song.
The ending lead is one of the best I've ever heard. It's so tasty and skillful at the same time
Kirk wishes she wrote this solo
Which one exactly? there are 4 solos indeed.
the best one
no need to bring the ladies down with Kirk in your comment lol. yuck.
and dave wishes he wrote the jump in the fire solo! Oh, wait...
Kirk in those days himself wrote some memorable solos... Fade to Black, One, MOP...etc !
This is a killer version of this song! Dave is on fire. I wish he would play more solos these days because no matter what anybody says he will always be the best guitarist in Megadeth!
Marty Friedman has entered the chat
@@IsaacT22 Marty is truly amazing to say the least, but Dave has this frenetic/psychotic yet controlled fury to his playing that I've never quite heard elsewhere.
1988 - an ancient time where you could buy normal blue jeans with no holes in them or bleaching without checking every store in town.
Dude Dave Mustaine had ripped jeans.
Stfu boomer
replicant #85 yupp
The riff at 1:00 its just amazing.
Every clip I've seen of this Essen show, Megadeth was in full tilt - this was when they were still dangerous and had a lot to prove.
Glad this was all caught on film - excellent footage & performance!
+hazor777 I really need to build a time machine to go back and get to see this gig. As you said this is a monster of a Megadeth show.
+BuggritHall

Once again wise words there
Chuck was a absolute beast
No one better as this was his time....didn't last long but he was amazing.
1:45 coolest shot of Dave shredding
That ascending run up the fretboard he does right there is fucking amazing
This is the coolest live performance ever
Dave's hair is killer in this
3:14 i love how dave sings exactly like 2000 era
that outro.. fuckn epicest of all outros
I fucking love this tone. It could pierce through any metal.
I need a fucking time machine to go back to see this fucking gig!!!
Anyone else notice Dave actually missed count with his vocals so he has to say Diana twice and saves it lol
Best era of music period. The artist wrote, sang, performed not this auto tune bullshit of today's computer era
definitely one of the best live performances of this song
Damn, that tone.
seriously, I want that tone
Riley Palmer hell yeah its badass
Dave had an awesome tone here
It's a thing called Rockman, used by JP too.
watched this video about a million times.. i grumble at the fact they spelled megadeth wrong
same here
But it's only 150k views 😂😂
Prob my fav live the way he just walks off like nothing happened after playing those heavy riffs and fast solos looks cool

Wonder what drugs they were on that night
Panadol
Easier would be to answer, what they weren't on.
Goabnb94 Speedballs man. Coke and Heroin in one syringe.
Fredegunde Stratton nah they didn't mess with needles. Dave didn't pick up a needle till the mid 90's when he relapsed.
all of them
the sound of the riff after the intro solo is amazing in this show
wake up dead men.. he was hyper active for this year.
I think dave got his revenge😂
2:30 🔥
what a badass band
1.00 one of the best metal riffs, its killing
that solo is so amazing :D
one of my favvs for sure
Best live performance of a metal song possibly ever
Badass. Man. Wish I could’ve been there to see !
Currently learning this song on guitar, and hopefully after my birthday, I have enough money to buy a Jackson rhoads
best version live
I feel the power in this song OMG !
Amazing.
The most badass song fuck yeah
Dia... Diana
Dave’s guitar tone is like Somewhere in time tone of murray and smith
dave's got a good tone here
This has to be the best version of this song.
I saw Megadeth in January 1988 at The Scope in Norfolk, VA. They, along with Savatage, opened for Ronnie James Dio.
Killer 🤘
God dammit this such a good song
the thumbnail to this video is amazing
this is gold
Would anyone else agree that this gtar sounds similar to a maiden tone?
Maiden doesn't have as much distortion tho
these guys are a level of cool i thought only existed in anime
I'd do anything to have seen this concert.
wow. just...wow
That. Was. Awesome.
2:32 megadeath??
dave mustaine you're the god of riffs! i fucking love all the riffs you're making!!
TEMAZO ESTA WEA , AWANTE MEGADETH......
We can see Jeff Young Jazz influence by how high his guitar straps.....

Are they playing it faster?
Yes
Ahhh, the good old days when Dave wasn´t into that christian crap, and played these kick ass songs...would love to hear Megadeth play Devil´s Island or Good Mourning...
@lleo11 example of thrash metal: look at metallica, megadeth, sepultura, warbringer, onslaught etc.
Watch Chris Broderick playing his guitar :) It's not that high up his neck, but it's still pretty high up there :)
@guitarirltbh no its very well used in black metal example: look at Gorgoroth
Damn...young mustaine is so angry!!
ame este video!
noob,just hit the like button
Thrash Metal defined.
Jeff Young
@Deathrash241 oh yeah
@lleo11 you mean it's used in thrash metal mostly
fuck that rift is amazing. duh duh..duh duh duh duh...
Hey can someone fix Cajun's name John Campbell ( Haussmann ) And His Brother's, Mom's. Did you put Kelly Look with her real Mother and fix that also.
Thrashing version! Thanx for posting!

How hot Dave looks!! I wonder if Diana was in the audience or backstage....!
Some humourous comments lol..bottom line is Dave invented Thrash/Speed single handedly..like him or loath him, that's the facts..personally, in this form they're pretty much untouchable, even without Chris & Gar \m/
@MexicanTiger19 its used in black metal mostly :]
Hey do you know where can I download the whole show???

Oh ok man sorry only seen 1 and 2.
