It's about time I finally got the Moped back going!!! I hope you all enjoyed and are ready for more content with this beast! SUBSCRIBE if you wanna see more!!
Lova y'all!!! JWAY!
Follow me on instagram: @towstrokej
Never felt so jiggy watching a build vid this music was fire
Gotta get you up and grooving
Some look for music videos, some for informative stuff. Man this music is annoying and almost every time totally our of mood for the content and way, way too loud for the content. Probably good as a background sound when working, but on the other hand, here's a guy removing engine head while low grade synthpop blasting through earphones. It's ridiculous to observe frame of vintage moped while nostalgia induced synthesizer default presets keep handling the mood. You make informative/entertainment videos or you make music videos. Yeah, I know, I can just not watch this, I show myself out.
@@TwoStrokeJwheres the Honda elite? Did you get rid of it?
its just so nice seeing someone doing this in america. i live in austria and 50cc tuning is everywhere
Yep they aren’t huge here in America but there is a small scene of people who really enjoy them!
2 strokes are awesome.
Very much agree
Greta who?🥱
Yet 4 strokes are better.
@@BrickEngines nope 2 stroke is better faster sound better and have more power
@@Veloxxtekk all of those claims are false exept MAYBE the power, it highly depends on the engine quality and cylinder amount, but the sound is far superior for 4 strokes why? well you probably havent heard about tis bike: ruclips.net/video/UH4ZIsWy4SE/видео.html
Yes yes yes yes yes I miss the Puch Maxi moped it's one of my favorites
me too! So glad I could finally bring it back
me too
In my country in the 1980 all had a puch of some sort funky little bike
A nice rebuild, I love using reed valve kits on these engines as well. I'm also impressed by how well the stock clutch held up. Just a quick tip for the next time - if you heat the bearings up, they just slide onto the shafts without any additional force. Using a press on either of the shafts is a huge risk. The output shaft is actually made of two separate parts and you could press the large gear out of position. The crank is even worse in this regard, without the webs supported, you could squish them together and the crank will no longer run true.
Interesting, I didn’t know that! Thanks for the advice, hopefully I didn’t mess mine up doing that!
Love those mopeds. Now that the puch is almost finished please do a tomos build too.
I've been thinking about a tomos build. Maybe in the future once this bike is completely done!
Actually your new zylinder is for Tomos mopeds J
You're so underrated man, i love scooters and mopeds and there's not that many project videos out there
thanks man! I agree though, I love showing the progress on these builds so Imma keep doing them!
Bc mini bikes exsist
For tapping drain plugs, I always heat the metal to it's normal operating temp first, that way it doesn't weep when the engine warms up.
as u dutch guy who races on puch maxi's it's very fun to see this, you should def look at some videos of it, especially the ones from puchshop itself or from pascal mussche, those are some FAST bike's , with the fastest hitting about 120 km/h, KEEP UP THE PUCH BUILD AND STUNT VIDS, MUCH LOVE!!
I've watched a ton of those videos haha that's where I've learned most of what I know! Thanks for the support man!
As a Swiss, where almost every tennager has a moped, its so nice to see an american drive and work on his Austian moped. So entertaining👏
I stumbled upon this channel out of boredom. I always had a passion for cars but this channel, Two Stroke J. A new fresh passion was born. Thank you. Keep up the videos, I love them and each day I learn something new and gaining knowledge.
Congratulations! Lots of love and hours gone into that. Can't wait for the next update!
Thanks man! Super excited for the project to be finished
Love the content, man! Keep it up. Until I stumbled upon you, I didn't know how cool 2-stroke was!
thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed! Just trying to share the fun with everyone!
so glad if found you back when you posted a video with you and your buddy building talks mopeds in a apartment. channels came such a long way and i’m glad i’ve been here for the whole thing
Thanks for the long term support man! I really appreciate it!
Sick build🔥🔥
Few tips just in case. I think you spaced out the seal on the stator side from the bearing. If not I would do that otherwise the bearing won’t get lubed by the 2 stroke oil. Second thing is if the clutch side cover starts leaking oil I found tightening the clutchcover and the cylinder first before all the case bolts helps align the cases because the e50 doesn’t have any dowel pins that can help eliminate that problem.
Love to see the builds keep up the good work💪🔥
Thanks for the advice man! I made sure to leave space between that seal and the bearing for the 2 stroke oil!
Hey Two Stroke J, your area looks a lot like central PA 717. I have a 1978 PUCH MAXI that I just got a major bearing service and brake job done. I also started to rebuild my engine. I need to take it slow but it'll get there. I wanna be riding this summer atleast- W
Hey man! I’m still working on finishing this build but I’m the same way, just want to get it finished up for summer!
Nice, I'm converting mine to 12V@@TwoStrokeJ
Got the bad bitch running! I am using the 70CC for the people kit. It hauls ass! Especially with a 14t sprocket. I gotta time my motor yet other then that we are almost good to go. I am using the 12V AC ignition with Pietcard CDI 2041. I just need to get the head lights and tail lights working. Other then that I am happy with the bike! I just acquired a pre bug 98 Zuma with a 70CC Athena engine for a rebuild!
This right here is a weekend summer project my 78 just hit 1000 miles so it's worth doing everything rn while I need to do scheduled maintenance
love to hear it man! Can't wait to get mine fully finished!
I sware every video of yours is just a rebuild video, and Im here for it. Love the process.
I dont understand why your channel haven’t blown up yet, the content is amazing ✨
Wooo, another 2 stroke J video. Always a good day.
Appreciate the kind words my guy!
Damn that thing is full (dumps it in the garden)
Haha it was in a fire pit and we used it to light a fire
you can also buy tomos moped like for example tomos apn 4 which has a gear shifter. Tomos mopeds are known to work even after 60 years. They are a work of art
im really excited for the next episode of this series! You just cannot beat the sound of a 2 stroke. BTW that is a sick build.
me too, can't wait to have this bike fully finished
in the Netherlands/Europe the 25KMH models only had a brass ring and the 45KMH models had a needle bearing around the piston pin ;)
Please make soon another video about moped stunting, LOVE IT!!!
100% will once this build is done!
Inspiring me to finally get mine running agian. Sick build great edit. Keep it up🛵🛵
Bro yes! You should it’s so worth it
i have that same red gas can. it’s really nice up until i have to fill it. that strainer inside it for some reason doesn’t let the gas drain into the can fast enough so it just shoots out a lot of the time when im filling it.
Yea bro I hate that gas can haha I wish it didn’t have the fancy valve thing on it
@@TwoStrokeJ i got a briggs n stratton one for my chinese diesel heater from rural king, way better.
I like the way the block looks clean and not new
This makes my need for a moped project even worse haha. Planning on taking a rieju mrt 50 and making it look nice and maybe go fast.
yea man build that thing up!!!
@@TwoStrokeJ My dad didn't allow it 😢 Will most likely build a wheelie scooter instead.
Will you port the exhaust port tho? A custom exhaust for that setup would be killer aswell
I swear rebuilds like these are just about having the right tools to get started hahaha, I’d be half way in and realize I don’t have xyz tool then my project would be halted for some time negl.
this happens to me all the time haha it's the worst. Then the project gets delayed for a week waiting for some specialty tool to come in the mail
new subscriber here from the uk, love this and cannot wait to see the test ride and hope you will do a top speed run? with stuck bolts i found that if you knock the heads side to side instead of directly on top the seal breaks easier and will help
Ah that’s some good advice man thanks! I will definitely do a top speed test once I get it all finished! Thanks for subscribing brother!
Damn dude now I miss my Maxi KL! Should've never sold that thing. Love the build man!
US market got screwed on crappy crankshafts. That's the first thing I upgrade when rebuilding an e50. Also noticed your oil seal was reinstalled backwards on your driven shaft.
Saw that you still have the stock clutchcase, it could be possible that the gear that is pressed in it could strip an come lose, i would reinforce it by welding it on the clutch side around or buy a new racing clutchcase. Cuz happened recently to mine 70cc puch maxi
dang that must have been pushing some power to break that off! Good advice tho man!
nice video! cant wait to see you shred it again!
Same man, next video with it I should have it finished up and riding!
Love the Puch! Glad to see it getting a new life! 🙌
Oh yea, gotta revive everything I get my hands on
wait till bro finds out that a beta rr 50 track exist
Probably doesnt care that much, as the beta is expensive to buy, mod and very boring to ride
SVP bro,can you pls help with an advice on my yamaha scooter cc 100 1998 bike, the speed is 160 but it runs very sloo about 80 km and I usually hear noise from the back clutch ❤❤❤pls am watching you from Ghana Accra
It's awesome dude,,well whats that cleaning spray you are using while cleaning that suspension.
I love how it sounds, and i didn't know that people had puch maxi's in the states, i remember when i had my puch maxi.
its hard to kill one, but starting a puch takes quite a bit haha
I was going to buy a PUCH back in 78 when I was 17, but got a Honda 125cc. (A bit faster and manly). So now at 62, I'm excited to see this rebuild of a bike that came from back in my day. 😎✌🏽
you should get a racing ignition for the moped🔥🔥Sick bike man!
Great content always,Big respect from Albania
Appreciate it my guy, way out in Albania that’s dope!
LOVE THE PUCH VIDEOS, KEEP IT UPP MAN🤘🤘
thanks man I will!! All love!
Down here in the netherlands they race with puch mopeds. Some of them are crazy fast. Nice build keep up the good work👌
Yep there are some small scenes that do that here too! Not nearly as much as the Netherlands tho. Thanks for the support!
@@TwoStrokeJ youre welcome, theres nothing better then the sound and smell of a 2 stroke
Here early bubba , miss you
Miss you too bro! You are still out here killin it, keep it up!
finnaly new video please more from the moped
imma keep em coming bro!
Where did you get a Puch in the USA? Always thought they were only popular in central Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland maybe). Really cool
Do you think it would be possible to do a similar build on a Jawa Babetta 210?
I’m sure it is! I’ve never researched one though
Leuke video ,met wat voor spray heb je het blok en de onderdelen schoongemaakt
Ik hoop snel op een nieuwe puch maxi video
The block I just used gasoline to clean it actually. Most of the other parts I used zep foam degreaser
Hey j it's been a while since I saw the bike, the steering bearings do you know what size the frame tube is? And do they come in different sizes. And a link please, thank you.🎉
There's no better feeling than fresh bearings and grease.
what carb size do you have on there? i think for a 70cc 2 stroke u could use a bigger carb i would think. same for the exhaust
19mm carb. Could maybe upgrade it eventually but it works great for now
@@TwoStrokeJ ive got some friends who are into 2strokes and most of em say carbs and exhaust help a fck ton when u have a 70cc. then again parts here are a bit easier to get i think
Sick video on the process! How big of an upgrade is that stem bearing? Would you recommend?
100%. Even with the upgraded forks I had, the front end was loose and had a lot of play in it just from those shitty stock bearings. Now its 100% tight. Haven't done much riding on them yet as the bike still isn't fully finished but I would for sure recomend it
@@TwoStrokeJ shiii say less. I'ma have to do it too then while I'm putting my EBR forks on. You got it from treatland?
Had quite a few of these in the 80s Thomas ,garelli ,puch and many others I used to get them for between £10 /£25 and they where great fun think my last one was a 72 puch pedal and go .
Great content fella and a good luck getting your ped as you want it 👍
Thanks!!!
Yeeheess, love from the netherlands
The Netherlands inspire me with my moped builds!
Thats nice men, i have a tomos 50cc, my 65cc broke
Im from Germany and the puch Maxi is one of the most iconic mopeds of Germany Austria and Switzerland
Ja ist es wirklich ❤
Wo kommst du her ?
Absolutely man! I’m glad they sold some of them here in America
@@Joschi746 nrw hier gibts leider nich so viele Leute die noch moped fahren
The notch is most likely for the steering lock. Awesome video. I had one of these puch's 24 years ago when I was 16. Sorry I sold it now, as I want one so bad. Lol
MAN I LOVE YOU!
I love you MORE!
i wass faking waiting for moped concent thanksss❤😂
glad I could finally provide haha
Its so crazy to see "mofas" in america as an german😂 Beautiful bike man 🤟
Thanks man! I’m glad I can represent the culture here in the USA
whats that foamy substance you spray for cleaning?
pretty sure u coudve just pressed out the copper bushing without disassembly of the engine/replacing the cranckshaft. just replace t with a bearing.. comes with the cilinder kit most of the time. WHole rebuild s better offc..the 65cc polini cilinder kit is what ud want for this..
i love this kind of video..may be you can do a suzuki v100 next
Fantastic video my friend like and Greetings from Argentina 🙋🏻♂️
Yessirr god bless for the upload 🫶
All love man! Thanks for watching
You simply never dissapoint, great rebuild
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it
13:13 Lol.. Epic 80s music to go along with the build..😊 Similar to when the A-team build one of their contraptions where they stick AK 47's on everything every week towards the end of programme..😂
hahaha so true
Im building one myself love it keep it up
good luck!
13:13 😂 Its like an episode of MacGyver with the music..😂
Hey, what did you use to clean the frame?
great project! build a 100cc piaggio ciao next!!!
100cc would be crazy!
@@TwoStrokeJ dont know if you recieved my last reply or not but you can actually get a full 100cc engine kit with almost not having to do any adjustments to anything. would recommend it. its name a Simonini 47.6mm kit
It does not have 100cc tho, its more like 85 or so@@st.coiled
@@osnariderz5075 yes, yes there is a 100cc kit. i have it installed on my ciao too...
Man i love puch, and your channel ofc ❤
I love you for showing support! Thanks man
I rebuilt my brothers puch maxi engine and got it going today, good video cant wait to see you wheelie it again
Thanks man!
You always make my day dude! Keep it up❤
thanks for the support and kind words man!
i saw that you upgraded your clutch but on an moped website i saw there is an specific clutch for an kickstarter that even has 3 sides sides idk how you in america call this but im only saying that there is an clutch for this
sick build🏍️🏍️
Thanks man! Still a work in progress but it’s going to turn out sick
Great video keep up the good work!
thanks for watching!
When is the honda elite coming back? (You really inspired me with it, i bought an kymco dj-y50 and put the same set up on it for less money 😊 and now i can also auto wheelie) so i would love if you would make another video about it 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
I would love to make some more videos on it! May do a couple more upgrades and obviously some good rides once the weather is a bit nicer!
@@TwoStrokeJ sureee thankss
Your smooth little barbie hands working on bike is hilarious 😂😂😂
Love your Videos👍🏼
Thanks man! All love
What?! The video is over already?!? More more more!!!
Finally ❤
yessssss
one thing is your carb should be straight up and down, not sure if it will make a huge difference but just an fyi
Bro that's some fire work right there! When is the result?
We need more videos like this, of real mopeds being worked on. Its always annoyed me that searching moped on youtube gets you scooters.
Yea man everyone has a different definition for “moped” but this is a true one!
What size tires are you rockin?
YESSSS FINALY !
whooooop
in asean you can see the best moped that 125ZR in my country have many moped 2 stroke we have RXZ 135,RR150,TZM150, and more 2 stroke moped in malaysia
Nice i got a 50cc 2 stroke pocket bike thing rips it goes 32 mph
Haha that sounds sick
u got a link for the bearings u put in the steering.
so good. great job
Where do you got the steering bearing from ?
I had a Zündapp that we swaped engine on to a 125cc Zündapp engine, mom couldent tell the diffrence and I just avoided dad haha. Older mopeds are hilarious and going up in value too
Where did you get the stearing stam from? 22:50
okay, need more now
Good. It has *SMOKE!* (there’s oil in the fuel.)
I like the 80s montage music
Haha same I felt like it fit the moped vibe nicely
m not even into motorcycles yet m loving these videos
Hi,
Could you share where u got that nice headset bearing kit from? i want that for my maxi!
Kind regards!
Got them at this link here. you have to use the specific EBR forks though with them as well.
www.treatland.tv/TAPERED-headset-bearing-conversion-for-30mm-EBR-p/tapered-headset-kit-maxi.htm
@@TwoStrokeJ Thanks alot!
I just found them in EU, same kit as u linked. Funny because i thought EBR forks was 28mm. I cant find a 30mm fork in EU, got any help here?
come to indonesia bro... many moped out there... btw nice bike. cool
