  • Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development (LI-BIRD) implemented the first phase of the Livelihoods and Resilience Enhancement Project (LREP) from June 2017 to December 2020. The main objective of the project was to improve food and nutrition security, income and resilience of smallholder and marginal farm families in Western Terai and hills of Nepal.
Until December 2020, the project covered 4,214 freed bonded labourer and landless families in Bardiya and Kailali districts; 775 earthquake-affected families in Sindhupalchok district and 739 resource-poor and marginal households in Humla district. This video presents some cases of how the project contributed to achieving the food and nutrition security and improving income and resilience of the beneficiaries.
