Decrease parent anticipation of a child's want or need
Change the order or your choices to make sure that they understand (receptively) the power of their expressive choice!

Oh, and thank you so much for your amazing videos on how to teach different sounds. I’m a behavior therapist and one of the kiddos I see has trouble with several words, and I always liked your videos the best as it was easy for parents (and for a “newer” BT, such as myself! We don’t typically focus on speech therapy as much since we work with kids on the ASD, so it’s kind of more based on behavior but also speech, learning their ABC’s, and a ton more. But with the kiddo I mentioned earlier, I’ve been really trying to focus on speech since he doesn’t have too many behavior issues. He has trouble saying G,T,K, TH/SH and a few other letters. You’ve helped me a LOT in trying to help HIM! so thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
my 3yr old son can follow instructions, identify shapes and colors, can point.. but mostly doesn’t opens his mouth.. he says “no” but in a protest way and would not repeat again.. his way of communicating is pointing and saying “uhm”
On a slightly off topic: I noticed my daughter would always chose the last option I gave her, so I switched it up, and she’d still say the last thing I said. So then I’d end with something I KNEW she didn’t like/want, etc. Lol. I never knew this was a “normal” things kiddos did! Thanks!
