I don't see how it was underrated. I don't remember a single person hating on Tekken 4 from when it came out till now. T4 is definitely one of my favorites, I just wasnt expecting them to alter Jin's moveset.

T2: The nostalgic one with the darkest final boss fight
T3: the badass one, tekken has its identity in full and it's in your face
TTT: it's 3.5 with a real interesting idea
T4: The unique one, very beautiful, atmospheric yet the darkest story in the series.
T5: The pefected one, the series is at it's best taking everything from past games 4 the perfect experience
T6: The evolved one, battle mechanics take a more modern twist in this game.
TT2: The extremely fun one, great sequel to tag, so many characters and the music and stages made the game more exciting and enjoyable.
T7: the out of box one, completely new combat like rage arts and crocks crew combos, characters from other games and universes, it did away with deep character stories unfortunately tho.
T7 Fater Retribution: Pay to unlock new characters through DLC, modern game system, updating every season for nerfing and buffing characters depending on the new meta

T7 is the most balanced out of the lot , a great E-Sports game

Miss those days too. It's wild how much the roster has grown. But complete access with unlockable characters, sadly only in the past from now on 😔
@@kadosho02 like I'd understand DLC if it were more geared toward characters who weren't originally planned to be in the game in the first place, but characters who've been in the games for years or are basically almost pallet swaps (e.g. Anna Williams, Forrest Law, Tiger Jackson, Miharu Hirano, ANY other model of Jack, Sebastian, ect.) Should be available in game under special unlock conditions.
Idk why they didn't have all the Tekken 7 story mode special characters be unlockable bonuses. Who wouldn't want to play as Kid Kazuya and throw out electrics as a child?

You're 15 years old. Played the first 3 games, and especially loved Tekken 3 with a passion. Even in the arcades, you can do a full run while everyone groups around you.

Patrick Harris 100% agree. I know it’s considered the black sheep of the franchise, but I never had any issue with the gameplay. However, just like you said, the lack of characters is its weakest point. 5 really hit the mark on that aspect.
Having more characters isn't really much of an necessity. I mean look at Virtua Fighter 4. Many people consider that game amongst one of the best 3D fighters of the PS2 Era. Less characters means more memorization of moves.

Tekken 4 is Good regardless of opinion. Tekken 4 was only badly recieved by fans due to the fact it was a change compared to what they were used to with Tekken,Tekken 2, Tekken 3, and Tekken 3-Tag Update. other than the fact most Tekken fans started on Tekken 3 and loved the Trell Out of that game if Tekken 4 was the start of the series and then continued on to 5, 6, etc...then ppl would be more accepting of it saying they were into it from then to now.

Tekken 4 was a part of my childhood, never knew about the others before it, for me the 4th game was the best with all the storyline, soundtracks, introduction, the intro was unbelievable, and of course the announcer voice is one of the best voice of the saga.

Tekken 1 and 2 are like night and day, huge improvement. Also Tag 1 was so amazing because it had all the old character designs and voices. I really miss those.
Tekken 3 will always be the most defining era for me. I still remember how many kids talked about it in school.

Tekken 3 was the beginning of the end. Went from a tactical game to rush and combo/ button mashing to win. Tekken 2 was the high point of the series.

Tekken 4 had such a great soundtrack. Also, the interface was neat, and the graphics were pretty damn good considering the game was on the PS2. One other tiny thing that I liked about Tekken 4 was the prologues. The drawn artwork coupled with the music and the narrator's voice was just awesome.
Even so sad to say that TEKKEN 4 is the WORST TEKKEN. Only 23 characters!

For me, #1 will always be TTT1. It was the first game I got with my PS2, and it took Tekken 3s amazing engine and added more stages and characters, the awesome tag team system (although you still had 1v1 play if you preffered) and the music in this game still gives me chills and a wave of nostalgia. Amazing game.

I grew up on Tekken. It always had that cool vibe to me. The characters even the wacky ones always were a trip. The fast paced fighting was always enjoyable. The funny death sounds when you KO an opponent like Eddy always cracked me up. Tekken 2, 3, and 5 were my favorites. but overall Tekken is my favorite fighting game series of all time. Street Fighter is a close second imo

Lili is not "hated" just uncommon thats all. I kinda like her design and fighting style if you're talking about the most hated charachter throughout the series its definitely xiaoyu except for xiaoyu mains everyone else gets annoyed by her and is hated in general

Tag Tournament 2 still has the most impressive roster I've seen in a fighting game (next to MK Armageddon) And even the DLC characters were free. I miss fighting games that had larger rosters with no strings attached

I agree! You can play tag team with friends or family online or play 1 vs 2 as well. All Tekken characters are there except the Tekken 3 guest character Gon. If they remaster Tekken Tag 2 for the PS4 and add Lucky Chloe, Katarina, Claudio, Eliza, Akuma, Kazumi and Shaheen with all the new bounce and moves, it will be better than 7. Tag 2 has more stages as well. But Tekken 7 is not 100% done yet, so we'll see this June 2017.

I can't believe there's been like 9 Tekken games and we still don't have an option to make a custom fighter.
Combot from TTT2 is the closest you can get to a custom character, although you have to copy other character’s moves...
They started doing character customization since Tekken 5, so I doubt there will ever be a create a fighter mode. ( hence why SoulCalibur exists )
I both want it and don’t want it, I like having combot as your character. But I also liked how they had him in Tekken 4 where he matched with others fightin style (which was how he was programmed to do)

I remembered playing Tekken 2 on arcade machine followed by Tekken 3 and Tekken tag tournament at age 9-13. After some time, I played Tekken 5 in PS2, Tekken 6 on XBOX 360 in 2008 and latest is Tekken 7 in August 2019 via PS4. My timeline in playing this game sure has some gaps but nevertheless, I am still enjoying it.
Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tornament 1 was my childhood. Playing it on the PS1/PS2 with my bro and sis when I got home from first grade... Memories are too darn beautiful.

I think this the eyepatch is bigger problem. Some say he lost his eye in the battle with devil Jin (Tekken 5). But why that's not changed in Tekken 6 then and why would they do that in first place? It doesn't even suit him...
