I have lived here for 40 years and this guy is pretty much spot on (and funny). He has hit a lot of things that make this town great. One thing I might add is we are on a geographic boundary in that to the south and east are rolling coastal brush land and to the north and west it is the beautiful hill country which gives a nice diversity.
@@titanman8302 yea ny is terrible i can deal with the heat I'm brazilian ahaha and I just got back from San antonio yesterday and leased an apt already lol place is great!😁🙌❤
@@MAGAISKLAN our son moved to NYC in 2014. He could only take 2 years of living there. It’s very a nice city but it is expensive to live there. He also had to commute almost two hours every day a day to work. He loved the city but it was too much of a rat race.

Great video. I live in San Antonio and looking at your video I want to tell you that most of the things you mentioned are spot in. One more thing, San Antonio is like 4 different cities in one depending on what side of the city you are in. There’s different customs in different neighborhoods here too. Us older folks know the difference and can tell what side of the city you live in by how you talk and act.
Thanks for the feedback 🙌🏾‼️ And you're absolutely right, we tell people all the time that each part of the city has it's own vibe and feel to it. There's something for everyone no matter what they're in to.
I absolutely love San Antonio. I grew up in Michigan where winter was Nov-April. So I love the winters down here. I’ll gladly take the heat for playing Tennis in January.

I felt like I was on vacation for 3 years, even though I was working.. I just cannot express to y'all how great this place is.. there is so much more!!!! I miss everything🏀🌯🌮💞
Hope you're ready for the Heat🥵 LOL! For real though, the Summer is a great time of year to visit and it's when I used to vacation here with my family too. We'd be happy to connect about your potential move here whenever you're ready. I trust you'll enjoy your trip🙌🏾

Thanks so much. Would you make a video where you explain how you relocated to San Antonio and how the bank worked with you regarding your employment and income to pay the home. I think especially for people who come from the northeast or west coast making a much higher income and then making less. how would the bank work in that scenario?
Here's a quick reply from one of our lending partners. We're also available to chat further if you'd like to reach out to us for additional details. Hope this helps: When someone moves here from out of town - several possibilities - Starting a new job - not a problem if it’s salary or hourly with guaranteed hours -If the new job is a contract (per FNMA guidelines) they may be able to close prior to starting job, if not, usually want at least one paystub of new job -IF you are able to work remotely - lender will ask for letter from current employer saying you are fully employed, no change (or whatever changes there are) to income and permission to work from any location -IF you are self employed and IF you’re leaving the business and continue to get income from that business, you’ll have to prove. IF you’re starting a new business in the new location, will most likely have to show at least a year in same business with continuance of similar or better income. (this can be tricky - be sure to visit with your lender) 2 years of tax returns often needed for self employed. -If, with the move, the income is lower in new location - IF that income still qualifies you - it’s ok that the amount is less from in your previous location. Lots of other things - but that covers a bit!! 😊
Hey Emerald! We have several school districts in the metro area as well as magnet and specialty careers schools. The different districts here are often unified on school policies as the Superintendents often meet when deciding things across the city. Were you considering teaching in TX?

@@SanAntonioTexasLiving I did, and I do agree with the "beating the data" thing. I'm a software engineer, I deal with a ton of data, and I definitely see people abuse it. However, a per/100k rate can't really be abused, as it abstracts the population size; it's part of the reason the FBI publishes it that way. By that metric, San Antonio's violent crime rate is about 105% higher than the national average. But to you your other point, a metro area is really a collection of lot's of towns. That stat is for San Antonio proper, and could easily be skewed by the violent crime happening in just a few bad areas. You might mention to folks though that there are areas that are exceedingly low on violent crime per/100k people, such as Helotes, and Lytle. Just maybe be on your guard when in the big city; but that's anywhere I suppose.
@@eddieh3509 With San Antonio, I feel like the distinction between bystanders and criminal on criminal is important. There are a few specific places where innocent bystanders are a thing, but in most places the crime seems to lean criminal on criminal. It might sound odd or cold to say, but I feel extremely safe living in a spot where people get shot regularly (Woodstone Drive) because there's no stray shots or innocent bystanders as far as I can tell.
Big Red is a Texas soda. It's not my favorite, but it's not gross. Tastes a bit like classic bubble gum. Not the cinnamon bubble gum of the same name....but classic bubble gum like bazooka Joe.
