Yeah I remain optimistic about what's next for FCP. I agree that the current rate of updates is disappointing, but I'm hopeful something big is coming in the near future 🤞🏼
Haha, it's not so much hope. It's just my assessment of the way Apple tends to do things. As mentioned in the video, with how FCP is today, I could be set for life. :)
The last time I used Final Cut Pro X the Waves plugins still weren't recognized and in fact, they would crash my system and would cause an immediate reboot of my computer. I'd say, maybe it's time for them to fix that don't you think? By the way, this is with version 10.6.8...
Since waves is a third party, it could be an issue on their end as well. With audio plugins, it's always a bit tricky. For example, Izotope RX shows up in FCP, too, but they do not recommend using it inside FCP because they cannot get it to work properly. That being said, I'd love to see an update addressing the audio-side of things in FCP but I think this is something for version 11 :)
I can understand what you mean but if apple wants fcp to stay a pro software then they cannot give it the ipad calculator app treatment. Currently it feels like fcp is just competing with capcut than any other pro-software. Also all of the demands made regarding fcp aren't way too out of scope for apple because they already have done it, with Motion. If they just merge motion with fcp and give us something like Final Cut Studio, then that would be great start as well. I personally would not mind waiting for updates then.
I think the reason why FCP development is a series of stalls and leaps is that Apple often must first develop at the OS level before implementing it in FCP. Oddly, it took so long for Apple to develop an iPad calculator though given it was there elsewhere in their various OS variations.
I agree with both of you. I'm really wondering about the future of Motion, too. I cannot see Motion being merged into FCP - that's just not gonna happen, I suppose. But on the other hand, I've heard people talking about Motion templates for FCP on the iPad. I'm really curious to see how all of this plays out. Furthermore, I do not think Apple will kill the Motion Templates and Plugin Ecosystem. I guess they've learned their lesson when FCP went to FCPX a decade ago. Let's see how things turn out!
Meant warmly and constructively, the reason you are still using Final Cut Pro is because you have not invested in DaVinci Resolve and taking the time out to learn it. I believe you are holding yourself back because you’re tied to your investment knowledge and plug-ins but ultimately this is holding you back. Just my humble opinion as an ex Final Cut Pro user.
Thank you, but I disagree. I have worked as a professional colourist and I know the ins and outs of DaVinci. I chose to move fully to FCP because I don’t want to be a colourist, I see myself as a creator. Therefore, I chose to build a channel around colour for creators. Truly, I appreciate your analysis but it’s a conscious decision and I’m not feeling held back.
Editing is NOT colour correction - editing is cutting. And nothing comes close to final cut for speed, flow and reliability to get the story in, organised, chopped up and sent out.
So good to hear someone else articulate what I've been thinking.
Good to hear I'm not the only one with these thoughts. :)

Agreed! Still, I think it looks quite good at the moment :)
I agree. I'm optimistic but man do they have us waiting
Hey man! Great to see you on the channel! I really like your videos! I'm sure FCP 11 will solve many of today's pain points! :)
@@iamericlenz been a fan of yours for a while! glad to see so much FCP support here on RUclips. hope to get proper acquainted with you guys one day!
Looking forward to FCP 11. good video
Me too! Thanks a lot! :)
May the force… makes you right 🙏🏼
Haha :D Thank you!
That is a very good parallel, Eric. I'm patient, it will get better and better :))
Thank you! I'm optimistic, too! :)
Let me tell you something. Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane. - Shawshank 😂😭

“Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” Shawshank Redemption 😉😁

Anyone else thinking they're gonna drop Final Cut and just start natively supporting Davinci resolve?
Nope, don't think so at all. :)

I forget that some people have Final Cut, but don’t have Logic.
Yep, me too. Even if you're not into music production it's a tool worth having. I use it for all my audio needs and for the audio of all my videos.
Get a color grading update Fcp.
What are you missing?
I have found 10.8 too buggy. Reverted to 10.6.8
I sure hope you’re right.
And even if I'm not, FCP 11 will solve a lot of todays pain points. :)
They've done something to the stabilization. Unusable now. So annoying.
Haven't noticed anything and there wasn't anything in the patch notes about that. But maybe they have - who knows. 🙈

@@iamericlenz Fair enough. I agree FCPX is great for fast delivery.

Final Cut can do better than this.
For sure - and they will! :)
