answer the damn question with a yes or no. They always tap dance around
the question to run out the clock because they know the Senators only have
a very limited amount of time to question whoever it is they are trying to get
answers from. These Senators are never given adequate time, they should
set new rules giving them double the time they get, and that is still a very
short amount of time given they barely get much to begin with. I see this
over and over and over, they all do the same thing.

What is the difference? Ted Cruz wanted to make the sanction permanent, Victoria Nuland thought that was not necessary because the pipeline would not be revived.
They should delay the discussion when Russian starts to repair the pipeline, which may never happen in their lifetime.

Permanently seems a bit extreme. But not committing to maintain sanctions while Putin is in power is also poor.
As a European I never again want our energy to be used to hold us hostage. Or to be used as a political weapon against us. So no more would I want us to shift now to be reliant on US supplies anymore than I would Russian. Hopefully there’ll be a time in the future when a proportion can come from east, a proportion from west, and a majority from within.
Finally. Just imagine if we’d listened to climate science in the 70s and 80s and been moving to sustainable energy sources for the last 40-50 years. Bit of a moot whatifism but it’s a thought I keep coming back to when think about the conflicts centred around oil and gas.
LOL, sustainable energy. They don't have the technology today for reliable sustainable energy, much less 40-50 years ago. And nothing in the sustainable energy field is created without petroleum !
Climate science in the 70's were predicting the world was going into another ice age . Science has proven this world goes through cycles. There are recorded cycles of heating ( much warmer than today) and ice ages. Today's environmental scientist's ignore these facts . They are paid for claiming global warming of climate change. Al Gore predicted in the 80's that Miami and NY City would be underwater within 20 years. Yet the waterline at Miami beach hasn't changed an iota ! And all these climate change politicians are buying beach front houses and laughing all the way to the bank for their beliefs.
Well it doesnt matter to the US if the pipeline is gone cause it doesnt effect them.
