God is definitely the Meta but He’s also more than that. I’ve seen Him do things in my life that I can’t explain. He lives in us, guides us, and uses us to make things better if we have Him in our hearts.
This whole spiritual plane/dimension thing is hard to explain because I know it’s there. I’ve seen it in action in my life. But you won’t be able to measure it in the way people think things should be measured.

@Andrew Sewell It's impossible to find God when you think you know everything and have all the answers like you obviously do. Like the OP's experience, God has similarly unequivocally proven His existence to me through a sequence of supernatural events that were unique and personal to me. It's different for every person, the only commonality is that we were all seeking God. If there's one thing you should understand about God, it is this: He wants to know who actually wants to seek Him and who wants to remain in the world, which is why He is never going to just present Himself out of nowhere to the whole world. That isn't the point of this world, He wants to know who WANTS to seek Him and be reconciled with Him. There is plenty of evidence for His existence if you can unplug from Satanic atheism and its pseudo-scientific components.

The guy never claimed to know everything. That's just you projecting. The questions he asked are perfectly valid. You dont just get to say you have seen God working in tour life and expect people to believe you without providing evidence. There are literally thousands of religions and each one has people saying that if you follow the rules you'll see that their God is the correct one. Every single religion is just as convinced as the next that they know the "real god".
The fact is you know nothing about God, you think you do.... but you have no way of sufficiently demonstrating that God is who you say he is amoral what exactly he wants. Ironically you are the who thinks you no more than the atheists do because the atheists dont claim to know anything about God, but you if course are special, and have found the answer to the biggest question weve ever encountered. And all you have is warm fuzzy feelings and claims that you cannot back up or prove.

I went from a drug addicted, porn watching, lying, stealing, i mean the list goes on. I have been changed 110% into a person who holds God and Christ near and dear to myself, because i have developed and can personally testify to the relationship and supernatural ability to overcone through grace the sin that had devoured me. That is my proof of God ,and if you need your own proof then sit down shut your door. Open your heart, and PRAY for it. I bet my life that you will have an experince at some point that will take the darkness out of your vision and nothing will ever be the same, you will find something and it will change your entire life, but theres also alot you would to have to give up. • @oncesavedalwayssaved240
      @oncesavedalwayssaved240 Год назад

Do you know 100% sure you’re going to Heaven, if you died today? The Bible says you can know. It’s not about being a good person or living a good life. There’s only one thing you’ve got to do.
We’re all condemned to Hell because we’re sinners - “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). The Bible mentions a “second death” in Revelation:
“…and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)🔥
The Bible says all liars deserve to go to Hell. Of course, we’ve all lied before. How many lies do you have to tell to become a liar? Only one.
All of the religions of the world say you have to do good works to go to Heaven. But the Bible makes it clear, it’s got nothing to do with our good works. Salvation is a free gift.
‘For by grace are ye saved through *faith;* and that *not of yourselves:* it is the *gift* of God:
*Not of works,* lest any man should boast.’ (Ephesians 2:8-9)
“And that not of yourselves”. If you’re going to be saved (go to Heaven) , it’s not of yourself. Meaning, you don’t save yourself. You don’t produce your own salvation. Because, “it is the gift of God”.
A gift is not something you pay for, but something you receive for free. Once that gift is given to you, it belongs to you now. E.g. if someone gives you a gift, they don’t have the right to come back later and say, “hey, I need that back”. That wasn’t a gift then.
‘…but the gift of God is *eternal life* through Jesus Christ our Lord.’ (Romans 6:23)
If God gives you the gift of eternal life, it’s going to last forever. So, if God gives you a gift that lasts forever, how many times do you have to get it? Only one time. And once you have it, it’s yours to keep.
People have this idea that in order to go to Heaven, you have to do good works. It’s good to go to church, it’s good to be a baptised, it’s good to repent of your sins etc. - But if I have to do those things to go to Heaven, then it’s not a gift. Because a gift by definition is free.
And they said, *Believe* on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.’ (Acts 16:31)
Once someone puts their faith and trust in Jesus Christ, their sins are forgiven past, present and future. They’ve been given eternal life and is saved forever (from hell).
A saved Christian can never lose their Salvation, even they do something bad (e.g. if they rob a bank and kill someone). God will never take away their Salvation. Those who are saved become a Child of God:
‘For ye are all the children of God by *faith* in Christ Jesus.’ (Galatians 3:26)
What if a Christian keep disobeying God?
God will punish his children. If you do a small sin you’ll get a small punishment, if you do a big sin you’ll get a big punishment, on this earth. But God will NEVER send His child to Hell.
If your son or daughter breaks the rules, you’re going to discipline them. But they’ll always be your child. Even if they begin to doubt that their your child. Even if they begin to hate you. That wouldn’t change their DNA. Once God is your father, once you’re a child of God - you will always be a child of God. But He will discipline you.
‘For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.’ (Hebrews 12:6)
If you believe you can lose your salvation, what you’re basically saying is that you have to DO something to STAY saved. You have to maintain some level of morality (do good works or not do bad things).
The very idea of losing your salvation IS a works-based salvation. They’ll say, “you don’t have to do any works to get saved, but you’ll lose it if you don’t do the work.” You’re still working to get to Heaven at that point. They’ll say, “if you do something bad then God’s going to take it away from you” - basically what their saying is, you have to keep the commandments in order to STAY saved. In Galatians, keeping the commandments is called the works of the law, and we’re not justified by the works of the law. We are justified by faith in Jesus Christ.
‘Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by *faith* without the deeds of the law.’ (Romans 3:28)
‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath *everlasting life.’* (John 6:47)
He didn’t say you HAD everlasting life, as if you had lost it. Or get everlasting life in the future. If I lost it, it didn’t last forever, it wasn’t everlasting. You can’t have everlasting life temporarily, that’s an oxymoron.
I recommend you watch a Gospel Presentation on RUclips, it takes about 10 minutes. Because you will find out things you never knew that were in the Bible. Going to Heaven to very simple.
Search, *The Bible Way to Heaven,* on RUclips
‘He that *believeth* on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that *believeth* not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.’ (John 3:38)

@@GoingFar77 1. So do you not actually believe in Christianity, or are you unbelievably evil? This may seem like a brutal dichotomy, but if you believe Christianity is actually true then you think the consequence of non-belief is eternal punishment, and so to doom someone to that punishment knowing you could save them seems to me unbelievably evil. To be fair, the analogy is like passing a toddler drowning in a kiddie pool knowing you could save them and then not saving them, so you're not quite as evil as the person who put the toddler there, but it's still a pretty evil decision, right?
      2. Yeah but we can provide evidence of a specific color to a blind person. Turns out when an idea is _actually known to be true,_ you can always provide evidence. (If you need me to walk you through an experiment proving specific colors to a blind person, we can.)

The disconnect is they don't know a god exists, and so they don't know those feelings are meaningfully connected to an actual god (and the fact that you probably think both other religions are falsehoods proves you know your own feelings here don't tell you a god actually exists).
      4. Faith isn't a reliable way know truth though, so why would you even bring it up? (Have faith you can fly unaided. Can you? Have faith a million dollars lies next to you. Does it?) Have you noticed faith is never mentioned on a topic where we have a good reason to think it's true?

We have all sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God. Whether we have lied, stolen, lusted, cheated, hated someone, lost our temper, used bad language or God’s name in vain, gotten drunk, done drugs, etc. We all deserve to be punished in Hell because of our sins. As a result of our sins, we have stored up a spiritual debt for ourselves. Unless someone else pays off this debt for us, we will pay it off ourselves in Hell. But thank God, that He sent His Son Jesus Christ, to live a perfectly sinless life, fulfilling the law and obeying God’s commandments perfectly, in our place, and He was tortured, and crucified on a cross to take the punishment for our sins. We broke God’s moral law, Jesus Christ paid the fine, the spiritual debt that we owed for breaking God’s law. Jesus Christ died for our sins, He was buried in a tomb and He rose again from the dead on the third day.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but has everlasting life. When you repent and believe The Gospel, this Good News about Jesus Christ, you become saved and sealed with The Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. Nobody can snatch us out of The Father’s hand. We are saved by the grace of God, through our faith in Jesus Christ, not by any of our good works, including obeying God’s commandments or loving God completely. We fail at that every day. We are justified by our faith in Jesus Christ.

I grew up an atheist. As I moved into adulthood I slowly started to be exposed to the Lord, through critical and careful thought and through Jewish text and conversation because it made much more sense to me than Christianity (but that is entirely personal). I still struggle to formalise it in my head, the idea of G-d, but Dr Peterson, who I saw in Manchester yesterday by the way, has helped me to understand and truly articulate the concept in my own head, in my own heart. It, he, G-d, is so much MORE than I thought. When I was younger, I oversimplified it and thus dismissed it. We are all here to answer the question he asks us. We are all here to answer the calling. Each person has a different route to Him, please do not forget that people! Your route to Him is completely different to your peers. We are a bridge between the mortal and the immortal. Hashem needs us, as we need Him, in a sense. He needs us to fulfil our duties, to explore life and death and love and tragedy. Hashem cannot do this on his own, powerful though He is. We are a mirror of G-d, we are the eyes of the universe looking upon its own naked body, coming to understand itself. I am 21 now, and have much more to learn about the Lord, but this is what I understand so far.

The fact that a flat universe COULD come up spontaneously from random energy in space doesn’t mean it did, and putting your faith in that theory is far more LUDICROUS than belief in intelligent design, I’m sure you can understand that much.
The fact that we have never observed “nothing” has absolutely nothing to do with the existence of God. Maybe “nothing” never existed. It still doesn’t disprove God, in fact, I would say that statement strengthens the ones argument for the existence of a God. For before everything was created it was just God, which isn’t “nothing.” So yes, you are correct.
Your statement about quantum mechanics and radioactive decay, one, have nothing to do with what anyone is talking about, and two do not have any evidence or examples to back it up, you’ve simply put words together in a sentence and the end result was something with very little substance or meaning.
You then go on to try to disprove the “prime mover argument” by writing about how states of rest and movement are only relevant when compared to other objects, this is obvious, sadly it also has nothing to do with the subject at hand at does not in any way disprove the existence of God.
Basically nothing you wrote was relevant or made up of anything of substance. It was simply words and statements strung together in an effort to sound intelligent.

It’s always amazing how Christians, no matter how smart they might otherwise be, seem to always put the blame of God’s apparent distance or hiddenness from us onto we fallible, insignificant, mortal humans, rather than on the supposedly omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent Creator who brought our entire being and world into existence through a sheer act of his own “free will”. If there are any barriers that exist between us and your God, Jordan, they are there because your God chose to put them there. If God wants us to know him, and he knew that “sin” would be a barrier to achieving that goal, then why did he choose to create Lucifer and set up a process for bringing “sin” into existence? God has “free will”, and he doesn’t “sin”, so why did he choose to make it such that _our_ form of “free will” results in “sin”, and therefore separates us from him? Seems counter productive, if the goal was to have all of us know him! Kind of begs the question that he doesn’t actually want all of us to know him!

God is the question and the answer, and I don't mean that metaphorically, I mean that physically, observably.
God is What/Who, both the generalization and the specification. One of many and the many of one.
God is Where/When, both space and time. Mass of energy and the energy of mass.
God is Why/How, both purpose and meaning. For-what exists by which means, and the means by which exists what-for.

Why do so many believers in God think it is their right to disgrace and shame others with different beliefs? Even when it comes to other people who believe in God differently. Right from the very beginning of our lives, we are taught to believe whatever our parents or guardians believe. We feel so fortunate to have found the one true religion and not to be lost like the other people who follow a different religion. If everyone believes they are correct in what they believe and yet contradict what someone else believes it only stands to reason that someone is mistaken in what they believe. There seems to be all this confusion among all the people who believe in God. Why do they spend so much time trying to prove they are right and someone else is wrong? It is hypocritical to use religion to validate superiority and overfocus on what everyone else is doing wrong. I can't see how that behavior will lead to a better more fulfilled life. Beliefs are personal and serve us well when they enhance our lives and make us better people. I was raised in a Christian home so I am very familiar with judgements and shaming from a very early age. It is funny how everyone feels like they are doing the right thing even when they are not. We are all so imperfect. Maybe we could embrace that a little more and focus on helping, not hurting. There is no shortage of ways for us to hurt others.

I could see the real world, but the Vision was so powerful it made the real world fade to the background. I don’t do drugs, except for a very occasional marijuana and marijuana does not do what I saw. I was above the Earth looking down while I could see the floor in front of my face. I heard a major7 chord of voices sustained, turned my head, and I saw an ellipse of Golden light that spoke to me, this lasted for two minutes approximately two years later I found out the words said to me were spoken by a man named Jesus, Christ. Nine words every word, the same. I KNOW God exists, and who he is. That means hell is real and everything else believe it or not

Ask the millions of children dying of thirst, praying to this “god” for water, while other people win the lottery and claim “god” was watching over them and had their back. When people say “god” loves all, that’s a hard pill to swallow because if anything, children should be the most protected by “god” based on what’s in this magical book written thousands of years ago by people we don’t even know. I’m not atheist, but I don’t believe in a deity loving and watching over everyone. I believe that’s a crutch for people who are afraid of the end game of it all. I'm not sure why Jordan feels the need to take what most empirically minded folk would simply call "objective reality" and rebrand it as "the ontologically transcendent". It's just the reality that exists independently of our observation of it. Almost all scientists would admit that we are very ignorant about this reality, but the goal of science is to try to understand it as much as humanly possible. And so we tweak our theories if they do not appear to be accurately representative of objective reality. I just don't understand why Jordan needs to frame it in the way he does or bring God into this. And I'm a huge fan of JP.

If you created an incredibly complex world inside a computer (for lack of a better term) with the intent of one day creating a set of life forms who were given the ability and curiosity to not only investigate their environment, but to also understand that they were living in that created environment, you might have something similar to the environment that we live in, and a relationship to the creator such as we have. We think that everything is "real" because we can manipulate it to a degree that is reliable. Thus, since the creator is not part of this environment, we can only formulate opinions of the creator based on the only data that we have. While it is fun to speculate about what the characteristics of God might be (besides what we know about God's personality and attention to detail), we may never know--even if we end up in God's environment.

He is our father and created us to have relationship with us. He sent his son to die for our sins and he raised him from the dead so that we can have eternal life if we only have faith in that. Why would anyone conclude there is something "transcendent"? Peterson's presentation of what constitutes object and how it relates to transcendence is one characteristic of Peterson's descriptions of things that demonstrates a good example of the notions of obscurity and the confounding. He alludes to the idea that as a scientist one has to reach for the transcendent in order to understand "objects". So one has to wonder exactly what Peterson means by "transcendent". New knowledge could be characterized as transcendent and not necessarily something transcendent of this physical universe. Something "beyond" what a scientist believes? That ONLY something is new knowledge and NOTHING else. There is nothing beyond ONTOLOGY or "being". And "being" some of it is prima facia evidence of itself. There is NO NEED to look beyond physical being or "object".

Saying "God is a pattern" is like saying, "a blueprint is a city." Good luck with that reasoning. The purpose of a "pattern" is in its relationship to a Real Thing. The pattern always points beyond itself. And that Real Thing, for which the pattern is designed, is not human beings themselves, because they are only "short-lived meat creatures," as he puts it: they're not ultimate or eternal or transcendent. They cannot be the source of the pattern of themselves. The pattern is of that which transcends both. And that which transcends both is God Himself.

I don't think I can imagine a being or ideal which is absolutely perfect anymore than i can imagine someone who is the world's best sprinter, physicist, clarionate player, horse fixer, etc. I also don't see the point in that.
I believe in methods - not models. There is no absolute, for me. It is a poisoned fruit. It is a mirage of an oasis in a desert. Perhaps that makes me a nihilist or very depressing but I can't force a god into my world view.

Hello Dr. Peterson, can I ask if you read "The Kybalion" and if not, can i ask you to read it (very short read)? I would like to hear your comment on it. Thank you very much.
PS. To define God is to deny Him.

You just defined God -- 'God is that which is denied whenever He is defined." That's your opinion and it doesn't make logical sense.
Exodus 34 defines God by His name:
"The Lord descended in the cloud and stood with [Moses] there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, 'The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children's children, to the third and the fourth generation.''"
This is God defining God, not denying Himself.

What if? GOD is consciousness; not just my consciousness but yours and everyone's consciousness around us... but also part of every consciousness in the past and every consciousness to come. That is what makes him omnipresent. We are like a single cell in a larger body we can't even fathom being part of. Our existence depends on the health of the whole organism. What we strive to be is a healthy part of the whole and make others healthy around us.(just like Jordan is doing for us) Nietzsche understood how we take part in killing GOD within us and how we take part in the deterioration of his corpus. At death when we return to the whole. I will know every one of your thoughts throughout your life; you will know all of mine. And we will, as GOD does now; have an extreme knowledge of good and evil.

God, the Christian God, who is also the God of Israel, is beyond our conception, but he did make a way for us to get to know him. That is through his Word! That Word is the Bible and his Son Jesus, who is the Word made flesh.
Only though studying his Word does he reveal who he is, and his nature. This is as close as we can get in this material world. Once we go to where he is, we will know him in his fullness.
