- Friends, on this Third Sunday of Lent, we have the privilege of reading one of the most important texts in the Bible: God addressing Moses from the burning bush. In this passage, the true God manifests his own identity: he is closer to you than you are to yourself, yet higher than anything you can possibly imagine. And he gives himself a name: “I Am Who I Am”-not a being among beings, but Being itself.

I don't know the exact English words, but it is a great experience to listen to Bishop Barron. 🙏

You know what I really love about Bishop Barron’s sermons? He never says the obvious. All the churches and their pastors in my area are so simplistic it’s almost laughable. Almost everything they ever have to say amounts to some variation of “be nice” or “God loves you” or “don’t judge people” or “things will get better”. When I listen to Bishop Barron I always learn something.
You know you are in a first class sermon when your bishop drops Latin flawlessly and it makes perfect sense.

The catholic church used Latin to suppress the laity. The same reason they outlawed the possession of a bible for many years.
Don’t say till you know him personally. When you do you will not be able to speak it. That’s God.

I pray Bishop Barron might be a future Pope. He exudes Faith and demonstrates wisdom to lead all believers. He also reveres John Paul II and Benedict, two of the greatest Popes. He knows the Faith. He uses the dynamite of the church. Like the burning bush, he is on fire 🔥with God's Word. Being assigned to Los Angeles is being underutilized. The Pope requires the courage and obedience to speak Truth no matter what...no matter what! There is no worldly leader more significant than the Catholic Pope. Nobody else has the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, or ever will beyond Christ. Thus, the Pope should fear nothing of this world. He should be the ultimate warrior for Christ. And, after 50 years on this planet, the greatest candidate to become that ultimate warrior is Bishop Barron. 'Lord, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Please bless Bishop Barron and his mission. And, if possible, present him the keys to Your kingdom to set the world on fire! We need you more than ever, Lord.'

I am who am... I am pure existence. My being is not something that exists and can be brought from somewhere and lived. It is existence itself,the very life of everything. There is no other...there is only I I. I. I loved this wonderful sermon

I can only imagine Moses - a runaway murderer, 40 years in the desert, stripped of all his pride and princely pompousness, fairly "empty" at this point. and now GOD - THE (one an only) GOD appears to him and engages him -- for purposes beyond his imagination or strength. May God help me to be as "empty" of myself as was Moses, so like Moses I can experience that life-changing encounter with the one, true, personal, sovereign GOD. And so for all of us...

As a catholic, I wish we had mass like this man explains everything simply and clearly. Maybe more people would go to mass.
I go to Mass because I am called as a part of God’s family. The Great Sacrifice that takes place during Mass is why we must go. @@factotum2883 I do as well. I also watch Fr. Mike Schmitz’s sermons. Bishop Barron gives a clear historical context for scripture and deepens my understanding. Fr. Mike Schmitz has a theme that ties his sermons together week to week. Jesus’ last words are the theme through Lent. Together they are so inspiring. Then Fr. Marcin continues to push me further into the love of God and His Grace❣️
God is not just Jesus. Thanks to God that there is much more.... But human needs a picture of God. That's why they need God as person. But it is all not the truth
I think this is why Atheism can never win. God is not a being, but a greater thing that is close to us and beyond us.

Rather, surrender to the God who is closer to you than you are to yourself, and at the same time greater than anything you can imagine. And do you know what he wants to do? I used to wonder why our priests, bishops only spend 10-15mins for their homilies …… listening to this homily explains why!
They pack so much in their homilies that if you truly are seeking God, you will get all you need. This homily is a prime example of this! Dear bishop Barron, you are one of the instrument God used to bring me back to my beautiful Catholic faith…and for that, I will always keep you and your ministry in my prayers. May our blessed Lord continue to illumine your mind with His Devine intelligence..amen.

I haven’t commented anywhere in years, but need to share that this homily is insightful not only for its content, but also for how succinct and accessible (to everyone) it is to anyone willing to respectfully (fully take another look) come closer to the 🔥 burning bush discalced in all humility. Today, that would look like going to a sacred place like a church or chapel or if necessary, the wilderness; being still, and having a conversation with God (prayer:) who is after all, closer than you are to yourself.
The more I listen to the wisdom of Catholicism, the more I am desiring to be baptized in the Catholic Church. Divine tradition.
Your name would suggest you were raised Catholic... but I know that having a Catholic heritage doesn't always translate to being raised Catholic. Happy new year.

So fascinating, so much fun, so exciting. God is everything and nothing all at the same time. Existence. Help me surrender my Lord. To your fire, to your laughter. You who knows me more that anything and anyone. You only know my heart and my soul. I have nothing to proof, I am because You are my Father and I love you because you loved me first and forever. May I be your echo, May I shine with your light. Breath on to me your love always. May I simply be as you want me to be. Let me rest in your arms always, May I never run out of smiles, for as long as you’re with me I smile and thank you. Amen

Beautiful sermon, I've felt that the beauty of seeing God and his hand in everything leads to joy in recieving each day as a gift but also humility in remembering we are all dependant upon His love for our continued existence.

I think this is the best sermon, maybe the most important sermon, Bishop Barron has delivered. Thank you for pointing out how important this revelation was to Moses and the Israelites and to people today. We search for God and we hide from God. God is in us. So beautiful and so necessary during these tragic days when the world is turning further from God and from what is innately within each individual.

My version of the Catholic Bible (New American Bible, St. Joseph Edition) says this: "I am who am." This has a much deeper meaning for me. When God says, "I am who am" he is saying I am who exists. But it goes even deeper than that. Humans are given a name to differentiate each person from the billions of other humans. Names are what make us unique within a family or group. When God says, "I am who am" he is basically saying he is so unique he doesn't need a name to differentiate himself from anybody or anything else. God is God, and there is no other.
I was always confused by the passage in Exodus 3 : 14 where God says: "This is what you shall tell the Israelites: I AM sent me to you." But now this makes perfect sense. By saying "I am who am" God is amplifying the fact that he doesn't need a name to differentiate himself because he is unique and beyond comparison with any other named god, and therefore, there is no other God but him.

Who is God? For me Jesus is God because I heard a voice at 3 in the morning he spoke to me 3 times same morning like with in a minute or too or waking up every time he talk to me I didn’t see a face only a voice then at work like at 7 am he show him self to me and said do you believe what I told you I said yes Lord I believe then he said in human presence said go and tell the others that I am here to call my name and I will help them I said yes Lord I said I’ll and that’s what I been doing since then alleluia glory to Jesus glory to our Lord my God my savior amen ⛪️😇🙏

I am a Muslim, not a Muslim be the name Islam, am a Muslim by the meaning and the meaning of the particular word 'Muslim' is 'The Believer' . Exactly what do I believe in that I am a Believer.
I believe in the one true God, Yehweh or Allah the same. I believe in God's every Prophets. Abraham, Jacob,Jonah, Elijah, Solomon, David, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad (Peace be upon them all). That's why I am a Muslim The Believer. Being a Muslim I have noticed one thing that Catholic Christians are true Christians and true Catholics are slaves of the God. So we are all Muslims by meaning. Cause we share the same God. The only thing we need. What do we need? The thing we need that is obvious and that Is, We need to be together or Satan will take all of us out. The much times I look at Bishop Barron. I am in Love with him. So it is the only time I feel peace inside of myself when I see my Siblings together. Every one from Abrahamic Faith. Now calling by Religion given name. True Jews True Christians means Catholics and True Muslims.
