Good on you . I'm a Catholic, (Aussie) but since I saw Bishop Barron's video talk 7 deadly sins 7 lively virtues some 5 years ago, I've followed his ministry which rings true to my faith and restores it. True faith renewed.
God said in Isaiah, “Even to your old age, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you.” You never get too old for God to carry you. As much as you love carrying your small children, holding them, protecting them, making sure they feel safe and secure, Your Heavenly Father loves carrying you. When you’re tempted to worry, feel overwhelmed, “I don’t think I can make it through this sickness. How can I make it through this loss? These people at work are not fair.” Instead of worrying, just say, “God, I thank You for carrying me. I don’t see a way, but I know You control the universe. You’re my provider, my protector, my deliverer, my way-maker.” The fact is God is carrying you right now, but if you don’t recognize Him, you’ll live stressed out, upset. No, you’re in your Father’s arms. He’s holding you tightly. Nothing can snatch you away. Thanks for reading this comment, I hope you are blessed and uplifted by it. We are a new and growing channel, your support and blessings is much appreciated. Thanks and God bless you. Amen
i am not a Catholic, but I recently found Bishop Barron's You Tube channel, and have been watching a number of his videos, and especially his Sunday sermons. I've just listened to this one, and the truth in it touched me deeply. Thank you so much, for this message, Bishop Barron. I will keep watching and listening.
You've found a truly great American. When I was a kid people dreaded our bishop coming to town because he spoke for long sessions with big words that didn't engage. Bishop Barron has the education and the holiness with imagination and real humanity. He is inspired. He gets it and can pass it on.
I wish Bishop Barron would give solid example of ways that we can daily give our life away. Putting others needs before our own? Being of service to family and friends? What if one is chronically sick. How does that life look for the one who needs to lose in order to gain life?
I love the old hymns, but I don't think I know this one. One of the great blessings I have received, is the great gift of waking up most mornings with a hymn ringing in my heart. With each year in my advancing age, I become more appreciative of this gift, and trust and pray that this gift rest upon you as well.
Outstanding thank you! I remember the day it dawned on me of how to parent. It was a day I was so angry at my child I didn’t know what to do. I prayed for God’s guidance and I looked up and saw the cross. I thought I am God’s child and Christ died for me a sinner, a disobedient child because of love. I realized that is how I should be as a parent. Constantly love and forgive. This homily wraps my prior experience into a nice neat package and helps me understand why I saw that cross at that specific moment. Thank you!
“There is always the possibility of coming back to God”, back from the emptiness of the “cora macra” - this is the message our world desperately seeks today, thank you Bishop Barron.
Wonderful stories/myths but all from mans imagination, the question is there a god/creator is still unanswered either, what the catholic church/barron does is hijack the possibility and turn it into something ridiculous, it stunning how barron can invent so much and get paid for it, the catholic church ability to talk about what it cannot possible know is stunning
I can sympathize with the Father. I have one adult child who cut me out of his life and his children. Others - not following the Faith and one living a life of “ dissipation “. I love them all with my whole heart. I pray for them constantly. How can you not love your children who are gifts from God. I am 68.

I am a 77 year old catholic and former seminarian. Never have I heard the complete biblical meaning of this parable. Part of my soul aches that my Church has programmed me to the redemptive algorithm of the older son: « Follow the program, and heaven is for the taking. There will be no godly reason to hear no to the Father’s house » In a way « You owe me, God. » Somehow, I feel angry at my Church and yet so deeply grateful to Her for her gift of gifting this man, this priest. I always thought that it was unfair to the older brother, the way the father was treating him, this is the first time I realize that it was all about the relationship that he was having with the father. Every time I hear this reading I say to myself I would never be able to do what the prodigal son did, but today I realize that that I’m worst by being exactly like the older son. Thank you for opening my eyes and my heart Bishop Barron
The parable never proves that the older brother had a bad relationship with his father or that he was in the wrong spiritual state. His exclamation of anger is simply what it is , something that anyone would have said in front of that blatant injustice.

My point is that this parable works only at the spiritual level, not at the practical, commonsensical level, where the principle “the more you work, the less you get” doesn’t make any sense. Because there are many people out there, who, like me, left their nepotistic country (for me: Italy) looking for a work environment that values merit. And I found it, thank God. The graphic descriptions made by Bishop, of the many segments of this story are the greatest. In spite of having heard or read it too many times over the years I have grasped some important details only in this Sermon here☆
I have found that scripture has a specific meaning that never changes. But it also has an underlying living meaning that changes according to our needs and situations. This is a great sermon(?) on a parable I have read and heard preached on many times.
As always a great and profound meditation on the gospel. What makes this better is that it is one of my favorite readings. Excellent title too. . . Everything He has is yours! I learn something new from you every time. thank you for your witness to the truth.

“I will get up and go to my Father and shall say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.” 😇O Jesus, I trust in You! Ps 34:8, Lk 15:18
Thank you Bishop Barron for this intriguing sermon, we don't have to pressure God into quick answers to our needs/ Prayers for he knows best when we need something and when to provide.
The holy spirit is pure love, you own nothing you are the care takers of every think, if you owned it you would take it with you when you pass. Don't spend your life chasing things be happy with what you have and hope for better
The account of the Prodigal Son proves Jesus is a great story-teller, and Luke the Evangelist is the master who records the great stories Jesus tells. "cora macra" 😮
A very typical example of what happens when we leave the patronage of our loving Father and lead a hollow life. But the love of Father is endless and helps him to live with blessing when we realize our folly and return back to Him.
I think this story reveals two incidences of pride that beleaguer and characterize humanity: pride that you think you’re ready and know-it-all (e.g. some teenagers), and the defensive and lacerating pride that speaks from an ultimately wounded heart wanting what you see as fair justice (i.e older brother in the story). What the two have in common is the idea of “what is fair”. Christ uses this very ubiquitous notion to show us our shortcoming and failings, sure, but also God does not hold the same fairness which leads to pride. Rather, God’s love acceptance of his sons (to superimpose the father of the story with God) isn’t determined by possession, accumulation, or even control. In fact, God does the opposite. He lets go, and gives “inherence” in this story but also forgiveness and pardon to such an extent to throw a party! God’s gives so much he consoles a grieving son who believes he does not share in his father’s glory and love. That is what swells up in the older brother. He is hurt, thinking God does not value him or his labors. God reveals He is not the God of possessions but the God of Life!
I'm going to refer to the gospel of the prodigal son. I have been a Catholic since I was born 1/10 grade I was like a Catholic going through a revolving door when I was old enough to make my own choices. Bishop Barron. Today I relate to your sermon on the prodigal son more than any other time. At one of the points in my life I was asking for God's help in stoping a mortal sin I was engaging in and I determined He was taking to long in helping me, and if he loved me so much He should have helped me (my) way. I became angry at Him an decided He didn't exist. And I decided to go into the real world of darkness. To find fun peace and happiness. Then one night I was on my knees cleaning a piece of equipment an I collapsed on my face. I called out to the Lord " I can't do this I can't find happiness ". I felt like Peter when you asked him " will you leave me too"? I answered you the same as Peter were else can I go? This was late at night and I called a friend and asked her to come and pray with me. She came right away, we prayed. And I have never questioned Him again. I have since had many situations were I wants Him to act in my behalf. I sometimes didn't see the answer but I knew He had it cover I could l it go . I knew He had it in his hands. Really I know He is always with me.and loves me as if I was his only child and He wants me to come to Him more than I do. Thank you.
Beautuful..isn't it..The Father's LOVING GAZE never leaves the son...and just as soon as the suggestion of a turn-around is sensed, The Father hurries to put on His Sandals...that's Love: constantly sensing..and loosing no time to act!!
Thank you for the light that you bring into our world with your beautiful teaching and for bringing the word of God’s teaching home to us. May you dear Bishop Baron always be blessed and may we as humanity keep the message of Christ in our hearts.

The graphic descriptions made by Bishop, of the many segments of this story are the greatest. In spite of having heard or read it too many times over the years I have grasped some important details only in this Sermon here☆
Bishop's sermons are so rich in spiritual theology!

Indeed☆ Do appreciate your presence☆☆
I have found that scripture has a specific meaning that never changes. But it also has an underlying living meaning that changes according to our needs and situations. This is a great sermon(?) on a parable I have read and heard preached on many times.

@@marypinakat8594 You too, Mary!
As always a great and profound meditation on the gospel. What makes this better is that it is one of my favorite readings. Excellent title too. . . Everything He has is yours! I learn something new from you every time. thank you for your witness to the truth.

Thanks Bishop Barron
👏 👏 👏
Absolutely one of the most profound teachings I've heard for a long time. It cut right to my feels. Bishop Barren is a Maestro of the word.
Beautiful sermon. I love that "cora macra" concept.
Sending prayers from Croatia🇭🇷✝️
he's a heretic and will burn for having no backbone against liberal infiltration of the church
@@ratatat12356 I am afraid that you are misinformed about Bishop Barron. He is working tirelessly to save souls. And I don't believe that it is our role to judge others, that is up to our loving and forgiving God.
@@judyv3370 boomer moment
@@ratatat12356 I would like to ask you a question. What is your motivation for posting something negative here? It almost seems as if you are trying to provoke an argument? I know that all are allowed their own opinions, and honor your right to yours, but I want to understand why you would want to do this? It seems there would be a better forum for debate than this thread. Remember, your behavior reflects on you, not on others.
@@judyv3370 because the catholic church is in ruins. there is so much corruption and the pope is an open heretic. vatican 2 was put together by freemasons. they ruined the catholic church and barron is guilty by association for not standing up for true catholics who reject vatican 2
What an insightful and touching explanation of this parable!
Every thing we have comes from him!!He has given me everything!!!
Thanks Bishop for the lovely explanation!! God Bless 🙌
Just a simple hearer from Bonfim, RR, Brazil.
We are all "simple hearers" from all over this world!
This maybe the only homily we need to hear. Thank you so much Bishop Robert!
thank you father
Your insights expressed so clearly/beautifully, and with a quite yet profound passion of love for the Father is a gift to me - the gift of the Holy Spirit, touching my heart; feeding my soul. You, Dear, Bishop Barron, are one of His gifts! Thank you!
Lovely Comment☆☆
Always a pleasure to hear Bishop Barron.
Lost & found. Man found lost sheep, woman found lost coin, but the older brother did not go and find the lost younger brother. In any case, rejoice for each person that is found & return to God. Such a intriguing parable.
Thank you.
I love to hear that we can always return to God. That he is lovely waiting for us. That he is merciful and compassion. This makes me love God, and be grateful for all his gifts.
Beautiful, beautiful Sermon!!!

Thank you and God bless you, Bishop Barron. The message in the Prodigal son is always touching. Coming back to God, to a Father's Love that waits for us.
I cried after hearing how his father ran to him. So beautiful
Thank you his lordship...God bless you.
“I will get up and go to my Father and shall say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.”

Thank you Bishop Barron for this intriguing sermon, we don't have to pressure God into quick answers to our needs/ Prayers for he knows best when we need something and when to provide.
God is with us even if we have sinned or turned away. There is nothing like the Heavenly Father's embrace when we are humble and confess.
Thank you 🌈🌟 God Bless You, Bishop Barron, Amen 🙏🏼 … Happy Sunday ✨💞✨
I'll do it bishop, I'll believe. Amen.

Thank you Bishop. God bless your ministry🙏 shalom from The Gambia.
Once again Thank You Bishop Barron, you make us understand that God loves us more than we can love you!
"God is love." 1. John 4:16
Real love is all about giving. What more could you possibly give than what Jesus did on that cross.

The holy spirit is pure love, you own nothing you are the care takers of every think, if you owned it you would take it with you when you pass. Don't spend your life chasing things be happy with what you have and hope for better
Amazingly uplifting Bishop Robert! Thank you. Trish. Australia
Thank You So Very Much Bishop Barron, you always remind me how loved we are by Dear Father Our God…
Wow! Thank you! Amen 🕊
The account of the Prodigal Son proves Jesus is a great story-teller, and Luke the Evangelist is the master who records the great stories Jesus tells.
"cora macra" 😮
Fantastic.Thank you.Thank you.
A very typical example of what happens when we leave the patronage of our loving Father and lead a hollow life. But the love of Father is endless and helps him to live with blessing when we realize our folly and return back to Him.
My life and all that I'm blessed with(man & children) I owe to him 🙏
"Loose yourself in me and you will find yourself"...give yourself to Christ and you'll gain everything! Cora Macra!
I have been so much enriched with Bishop Barron Roberts homilies

Love listening to you!!!! God bless You 🙏
This story always gets to me. Great sermon!
I'm going to refer to the gospel of the prodigal son. I have been a Catholic since I was born 1/10 grade I was like a Catholic going through a revolving door when I was old enough to make my own choices. Bishop Barron. Today I relate to your sermon on the prodigal son more than any other time. At one of the points in my life
I was asking for God's help in stoping a mortal sin I was engaging in and I determined He was taking to long in helping me, and if he loved me so much He should have helped me (my) way. Thank you.
Good for you! God bless you!
Proverbs 3:5-6

Beautiful! Thank you 💙
Beautuful..isn't it..The Father's LOVING GAZE never leaves the son...and just as soon as the suggestion of a turn-around is sensed, The Father hurries to put on His Sandals...that's Love: constantly sensing..and loosing no time to act!!
Thank you for the light that you bring into our world with your beautiful teaching and for bringing the word of God’s teaching home to us. May you dear Bishop Baron always be blessed and may we as humanity keep the message of Christ in our hearts.
