I know IndyCar needs people to watch the actual race, but another good thing is that the IndyCar RUclips channel puts out a 30min race highlight package the day after each race. All the good stuff, no ads, in and out in a half-hour. Also, I think IndyCar might not be spending marketing $$ because they're hoping Bus Bros on Josef Newgarden's channel will do the work for them.
indycar definitely got a marketing budget boost and it seems to be paying off. the racing product is second to none so marketing is exactly what they should be focused on
Would love to watch the actual races really, when possible in my timezone. Problem is just that the streaming rights are with a shit company here that's way too expensive... :/
@@johnedwards230 As pretty much by now an ex-F1 fan of 20 years, and new-ish Indycar I wish you all the best in your endeavors. It's just friggin fantastic racing.
I write this from Indianapolis to my favorite F1 channel! Thanks Will! Indycar really needs all the ecposure it can get from motorsports fans everywhere. I grew up loving Indy car and when F1 came to Indy in 2001, I was hooked ever since I went to that race 🙏🏆💛
Great video Will I like the genuine approach you have to the series. A reminder also that the feeder series of Indycar the NXT series will also be broadcast this year on sky sports action, this is the series that Jamie Chadwick will be racing in so may be good to keep an eye on. Would love to see you cover Super Formula next in my opinion the third best open wheel series in the world and very similar progression system as Indycar.
Can't speak highly enough of IndyCar it's entertaining week in week out and since I started following the series in 2021 I've yet to experience a boring race. I spent a while trying out other motorsport series to watch alongside F1 and IndyCar is the only one I've found myself a genuine fan of and actively follow. I gave Formula E a few chances but every time I went back I was quick to remember.. I hate everything about it. I'd also like to mention oval racing is fantastic, I know it has a negative reputation amongst F1 fans as 'just racing in circles' but it's actually great and provides some of the best races of the season. Give it a go people you won't regret it.
This video was great but honestly I would definitely keep an eye out for Marcus Armstrong and Callum Ilott. Ilott was very impressive last year with a front row start and some great races, and Marcus is definitely in contention for some podiums this season as he proved in testing he's getting to grips with the car very quickly!
This is so so nice! I would also add that in Indy car strategy is very dynamic, owing to the yellow flags. Even in races with only a couple, you have teams changing things up as they go along. And that makes it better for fans. Also the rules for passing are, well, yes there are some but it's not like F1 by any stretch.
The difference between you and any other youtuber is that every other youtuber makes a video and takes it seriously. While you somehow make every video no matter what it is funny 😂. Keep up the good work.
Was never a huge Penske fan, but he is rebuilding Indy in ways the Hulman-George family never considered. He will be a good steward of the IMS. Grew up in Indy, live there still. Every team owner from Dick Simon to ... Roger Penske loved this place with every part of their Soul.
Jimmie Johnson is one of the best drivers in motorsport history he’s a 7 nascar champion and was racing it for almost 20 years before Indycar cut him a break in his prime he’s better than most people in that grid
I started watching Indycar this year. Already been to the Indy 500 and road America last week. I love it. Hate to do the typical comparison to f1 but it is so much more entertaining. Glad it is growing in popularity
Reason number 6: The FIA is not the governing body. Therefore a lot less controversy and penalties that make sense more and are applied in a more straight forward manner (or that last one at least from my experience watching IndyCar since the pandemic).
To be fair it can still be pretty shambolic at times, but much less politics and more straightforward logic (even if the logic doesn't always add up) - and a lot more leeway for aggressive passing moves. It's a funny thing about American racing where they also don't like to hype up controversy like F1 does, thanks to their dedication towards image and their sponsors who make things happen, which I think is a part of it. But yeah... the FIA are just on another level in pretty much every sense.
It almost was during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Then Ecclestone came in and essentially screwed over all the smaller teams to have just like 3-4 drivers competing and maybe 2 teams per season to make it more marketable, while IndyCar, who had 5-10 drivers competing for a win, didn't match up
The trouble is, it's on Sky sports (last time I looked). I'm not going to pay so much for a handful of races a year. If there was a highlights version on FTA channels, like there is for F1 on Channel 4 (very little of the actual race is lost, certainly none of the action), I'd be glued to the TV. This and Aussie V8s (or whatever the name is this year). When Motors TV actually _had_ a TV channel I got to see some absolute cracking races.
Could you please look into sprintcar racing and at least do an opinion video on it. Honestly it's better racing then most of the top racing series. The 2 sprint series to look at are USAC for nonwing and World of Outlaws for the winged cars.
the Indy 500 is actually one of the best races ever, it's right there with brazillian gp and british gp, my first time watching was 2021 when Helio Castroneves won for the 4th time, so the brazillian hype went above heavens
Mate I was a newbie watching that, only now after was the history apparent, and the tingles were still there. Everyone there that day was so pumped for that win, it was unreal.
