Brilliant effort. It looks stunning. Well worth the hours of scraping off the old underseal to achieve this look. Great effort to manage to fit it without chipping the paint. I have yet to paint my hood and was thinking of painting the outside with it on the car.
Just fitted my 'bonnet'. A friend advised using a large sofa cushion placed on top of the engine. Fix the hinges to the bonnet before fitting the bonnet, without shims, then place the bonnet on the sofa cushion. You will find the hinges sit very close to the front frame holes. Tilt the bonnet forward slightly on the cushion. Insert the bolts. You've now got a secure bonnet with little stress. Now shim the bonnet. Thats when the stress starts!!!!
And u will have to take the doors off as well to fit the sill vinyl, unless u don't care about the forward outside 2x2 fit..the vinyl was fitted when u took the doors off..just like u gotta have the scuttle harduras fit in order to adjust the bonnet fit, and the door seals in place when u fit the doors..fitting the bonnet is a 1 man job with the right tools and pair of hands.
He did an excellent job completely butchering the interior with brand new wrinkles, lumps, and puckers..replacement of every piece of the seats to a very low standard, luckily in black as to show less wonky..tartmobile.
Nice,nice😀

Nice job John. Lots of work to get to this point.
Cant believe you would attempt that without Wayno. Beautiful. good job boys
looking got John. I always leave the bonnet hinge and shims on the hood, then use the center pin bolt which is much easier to get started.
Hi Richard, thanks for the feedback (as always). Nick and I when back and forth on how to do this and eventually it was a toss up.

Almost there!!
Its coming along!
Nice job, but if you call the bonnet the 'hood' what do you call the hood.
Looking good Coops!! And you managed without the Petite General!
The hoody fit is still pending inspection from the Petite General!

sorry I don't believe any of this to be true.
@@RichardMichaelOwen that's because u don't trim E-TYPEs for a living.
@@RichardMichaelOwen love to see a video of u installing the molded door seal with the door in place, let me know when u upload it.
@@brucecolby5016 yes door seal install isc easier without the door installed, but not impossible afterwards
Hope you do interior in biscuit
