This was my second RPG ever and the first one I played until completion. It doesn't just hold a special place in my heart it is the special place. So with that said, if it got an updated battle systerm like FF7's remake is getting. Square will finally be dead to me. It would also be interesting to see them attempt to come out with the game from a musical stand point. That was a massive one with 50+ tracks if memory serves.
This is incredible. FF6 was my introduction to the FF world, and I probably can't even count the hours I played this game. I think it is often overshadowed by 7 a bit (I adore 7 as well). I think they should have done a remake of this one as well.
The same applies to me, FF6 is that special game for me because it was the first FF. I've been playing this game on and off since I was 10 years old (I'm 37 now) and the music still brings me joy and tears. And I also adore FF7, but main I would do anything to see a true FF6 remake. Unfortunately it is not likely because it's not the mega money maker like FF7 is to Square.
I still maintain that green hair suits Terra way better than blonde hair as it emphasizes her nature as a part-esper... Especially so in FFVI where every single other character was blonde. Like, I understand that blonde hair feels exotic to the almost exclusively dark-haired Japanese, and Yoshitaka Amano obviously latched on to that, too, but if almost everyone's blonde, it kinda loses its special-ness. And Terra, out of everyone in the cast, _should_ look a bit special.
The themes of FF are timeless. The friendship of Cecil and Kain, the heart of Terra and Cloud's acceptance of self. Few RPG's have come close to pulling me in emotionally. Star Ocean and Tales of Symphonia are top notch and come after, but those FF heroes I mentioned are forever a part of me.
Man its almost 30 years since this game was released, I can't believe how much time flies. I feel so nostalgic yet I wasnt even in plan to be born when the game was released lol. My favrotie ff game

I love it. The original sounds more like a marching song with the percussion, but the intro to this one almost sounds like a waltz with the swaying melody. Also Terra is my favourite FF protagonist ever!
Same here. FF6 was my first FF game. I fell in love with Terra from the get go. She is one of my top fav FF protagonists! I mean, for me I have an obsession with fictional half breed characters like her, Vash, Inuyasha, D, and ofcourse Dante from Devil May Cry. Characters like them always have an interesting back story and are damned, cursed, or abandoned at birth, yet they still overcome adversity and manage to be heroes or anti-heroes at the end of the day. I mean half human and half summon (Esper)? How cool is that!
You have great taste! I would have to agree with you.. I'd be scared to let just anyone remake this game, because it represents a great many memories for me and Terra embodies something I've yet to see in any other female protagonist to date. So attention Square, you must hire Tanaka and I to oversee your creation of this remake and especially Terra Branford! Oh and if they do remake this game, it'd feel like pulling off a real life Bum Rush at Christmas next to your fam! Watch out Kefka, I'm coming back... Now I want my old games.. Thank you Rebecca for forcing us to endure so many provocative and wonderfully crafted compositions!
I like how you have Locke in the background. I always thought there were "three main characters" out of 14 playable characters. Terra is the top main character throughout the game. Locke is Key Leading Role during Part 1(World of Balance) since both Terra and Celes are both absent from party in some occasions. However, Locke is always there and sometimes it's mandatory to use him during WoB. and for Part 2(World of Ruin) the key leading role is Celes, because you start with her and she is the person who reunites separated friends by traveling all around the world.
I think that was part of the magic of how great all the characters were. I played this with my brother and was immediately drawn to Edgar and Sabin. Now that I’m older and have a family Cyan and Shadow have a great background to relate to. One day I hope I’ll get to share this game with a grandchild and we’ll power level Strago and Relm. (Have to round the party out with Mog and Gau to keep up the cuteness levels).
Oui, cette triste expression d'avoir tout perdu, de n'avoir connu que la peine, la responsabilité de l'avenir du monde pesant sur ses épaules, et sur un visage reflétant la pureté d'une âme immaculée...
I love how the beginning music box segment emphasizes the feelings I got playing the game that only the atmosphere of some good, old-fashioned fantasy storytelling can give. It's beautiful, and I would describe it in more words if I could.
Probably the best soundtrack of the 16-bit era. It's always great to hear Nobuo Uematsu's music done properly without the constraints of a MIDI format.
I had read somewhere on a forum, that someone said Sabin is a meat head because he didn't understand opera and "... all the shouting." Sabin is like a Shaolin Monk, he is not worldly, he has formal education being of nobility, but no in the world experience. The man was a hermit practicing martial arts in the wilderness... gosh I love Sabin.
This was my first Final Fantasy experience, and lets just say it struck a chord, kupo! I really enjoyed the FF7 remake but it may pale in comparison to this world and story brought to life in HD. Terra and company are my reason for saying I am a fan of Final Fantasy. They just don't make them like this anymore. Something magical about managing to get Bum Rush off in time to save your party or turning into an esper to deal 9,999 damage before anyone in your party is even close. Beautiful game! Thank you for recreating in your own spirit what this may sound like as a track of a remade game. Personally if I could have any FF titles remade this would be #1, followed closely by Tactics. My name was taken from this game, as a comment Kefka makes during the final phase of the last battle, it's my jam! Enjoy everyone oh and I'm a grown man that cried somehow when I heard this... thanks for that :)
I absolutely love this arrangement! The start with the bells backed up by strings gives it an ethereal quality, as befitting her heritage. Then you get to the drums, and you're reminded where her story arc actually starts. I swear, I can still see that scene in my mind's eye, three big mechs stomping into a snowstorm as the opening credits roll (damn but part of me wants to see that as a movie, but the other part is absolutely terrified it'll get botched up). Drums and flute are classic military instruments, backed up by low strings and the occasional cymbal. Then the brass starts evolving into the theme, so subtly you almost don't notice it until the next stanza. From there, it simplifies again to flute and drum but with a harp backing it up to give the duality of her nature, born of magic and esper, but used as an instrument of war. Then you get to the tempo shift with more cymbals, denoting her dissonant storyline throughout the first section of the game. Bravo! Very well done!
TERRA .... a story divided between two worlds, fitted in neither, fighting for others while still discovering her soul and part to play in this world. When all hope fades to the blinding light of Kefka, she's the ressonance within the darkness.

I was 14 or thereabouts when this first came out, I had a rocky teenage period, I was weak and very different and very unaware and mostly contained in my own shell. When this game came to me it opened something up in me. My first experience playing it on my SNES was enchanting from start to finish. This song always makes me feel peace.
I dropped a tear... Reminding how i liked to fanart with video game musics out loud back in in the days (FF, Castlevania, Perfect Dark, Elder Scrolls, Tale Of, Phantasy Star, Unreal Tournament...)
I always loved this song in the WoB, it made you feel a sense of adventure, discovery, wonder and awe in the world you were exploring, and setting out with your party you felt as if you were encountering all parts of that world together, bound by the bonds of friendship and brotherhood. This was my first FF and will always remain my favorite and the one that impressed upon me the most.
Every now and then, I still listen to this and marvel. I can't listen to it while I work at anything requiring actual thought because it just takes me away. After having listened to a ton of VG covers, many by you, I believe I have come to the conclusion that this is my very favorite, at least outside your medleys (and even then...). I think it's awesome that one of your fans used this for his wedding. It deserves it. The first time I commented on this, I discussed how taken I was with the wondrous beginning. But the strong march and soaring strings more approximate of the original are no less stirring, enhancing the climactic sense of adventure we know and love. And connected together, the gentle percussive beginning, the beyond classic middle, and the slightly stylized but balanced landing form such a cohesive piece whose contrasts bear as much beautiful emotional weight as the notes themselves. The original is one of the greatest VG melodies ever composed and with many versions, official and unofficial. This is by far the finest version. It is a masterwork I would be proud to show off to any of my family and friends that have nothing to do with gaming, held to the standards of notable composers of every genre.
Another contender is the Zelda series main theme (even though I'm sick of it at this point haha). It's still Williams level impactful and memorable, like the Morrowind and FF6 themes!
This theme is the most beautiful Ive ever heard of all my gaming years. I was but a kid when I heard it the first time and it stuck in my head since then. Never any other song have moved me that much in a game and you recreated it in a way that makes it even more memorable.
I have recently began playing Final Fantasy 6 and I have to say the game is amazing, with great characters and great music! This is an amazing arrangement of Terra's theme and you make it sound like if FF6 was coming out onto the PS4. You have done an excellent job
Very nice!! FF3/6 is my favorite game, it was the one that really made me fall in love with Final Fantasy and JRPGs in general. You did a really fantastic job here, I'm really impressed.
How have I missed this nearly three years ago? Jeez. Amazing work, the beginning sounds like a music box edition for a lullaby or something to that effect. The rest is like reliving through playing FF6 all over again. It hits home pretty hard and I love it. I'll listen to this again at Christmas when it rolls around this year.
When I first heard it last two years. It brought me back the memory when I didn't finished FF6. And it felt somehow very sad. I found this somehow looking at the net. I came to download this but needed to email you to get a copy of this wonderful piece. The first movement felt lonely and sad. The second movement is terra's rising back to get what she lost, her family and freedom. The third movement somehow felt like her bond with the people she met. How she helped the orphanage at the world of ruins and how she managed to fight and protect her friends. This is one of a perfect orchestration from your library ma'am Rebecca. And I still admire it after 2 years. I wish you won't age a bit at orchestration and Composing new tracks. You are a talented person so keep at it and don't lose that. Just one more thing I have one request LONG LIFE TO MAESTRO REBECCA!
One of the most emotionally heavy remakes of one of the most emotionally heavy songs from a game soundtrack, perfect, congratulations on this arrangement!
It's also the only Overworld Theme that is also the Main Theme AND the theme of the main character. FF7 uses the Main Theme as the Overworld Theme for all of a few hours into the Overworld exploration and none of the FF games use a Main Character (or any Character) Theme as the Overworld Theme.
You are expanding on what's already been written. That is what music is about; personal interpretation and the internal expression of it all. Sharing.... What you've done here is marvelous. You did it. You represented the theme in opening, then brought it all together with the march up till the end.
I have listened to this everyday, at least once, since I found it a few weeks ago. A very well done remix? I couldnt resist starting up another play through of it. Such a well made game.
It was back in 1998 my first encounter with FFVI held place, the thing is that we were a bunch of north African cousins, each Sunday we feast on some ethnic north African food in our Grandmother's house, and rush back to the living room ( the only room where we could find a TV, also the Nana is always caring and compassionate with us and lets us play till nightfall) There's not much i still remember from back then, only the fragments of some post-feelings, the sound of this theme mixed quietly, yet overwhelmingly with the voice of Mediterranean breeze coming in from the window. The laughs, anticipations, frustrations and joy of seven little children, who learned to cherish moments and love unconditionally through a mere 2.14 Mo snes Game. Now, 22 Years later, dispersed and separated through life and death, i really hope that wherever and however they may be, like Terra once did, they grasp all the courage and kindness they can, even when resolving to love is not a solution.
I didnt know that yt channel. Really great. Thank you very much, i appreciate how you have deepened the melody without going to far. There is some harpsichord sounds in the low that fits pretty well and much more. Thank you again.
I'm back again and again on this one, really love this version, I've listened to many different version of Terra's Theme but what I love in this one is the magical touch you've put in it especially on the first part. That's not just a big orchestral epic performance, you've worked on the beauty of the track
This is a sole instrument that attract me. When I was a child, this game was a most favorite game and when it came to the opening of the game, I was keeping listening this song again and again...
To date my favorite ff experience. It hit the right chord in perfection for gameplay, story, exploring, team building...so much. It took the strong points of previous titles and built a new experience. The PS title with Cloud was good but this was the last game that truly felt like ff to me.
FF6 music is one of my favorite ost, you're true, the awakening truly is a terra's theme version 1, it is very similar. The idea of taking some elements of both is really good. You get the emotions, the magic side & the epicness Your flutes are really beautiful especially the one you're using at the begining
I come here again, I really like what you've done with this theme, it's very creative and beautiful. It's also the occasion for me to wish you a happy new year and to be more and more successful in your music. I'd like to thank you because you were one of the very first to follow my musics releases and I'm always happy to see you giving your opinion on my new work.
Just getting to know this game and to see this upload caught me by positive surprise. Not to mention your kind treatment of this theme! In yours, it is in well hands!
That transition to the more orchestral context was great, really interesting. Really cool incorporation of Awakening (which is definitely the better of the two sources). Great remix, very engaging.
I love this theme to death and I have heard multiple versions of it but this one is still my favorite just cause it sounds so good and cause you have captured the many aspects of terra so beautifully through music
I hope one day FF6 will get the remastered version like FF7 remake series I'll probably cry , ff6 was my first ever jrpg basically introduced me to what jrpg and from then on jrpg are life now

This melody is the absolute in the game music and the second of the greatest is the Morrowind main theme.
Another contender is the Zelda series main theme (even though I'm sick of it at this point haha). It's still Williams level impactful and memorable, like the Morrowind and FF6 themes!
I have never played FF6. But, why do I feel nostalgic memories.
Thank you for the best arrangement! from Japan
This theme is the most beautiful Ive ever heard of all my gaming years. I was but a kid when I heard it the first time and it stuck in my head since then. Never any other song have moved me that much in a game and you recreated it in a way that makes it even more memorable.
Thanks a lot! ^_^
I have recently began playing Final Fantasy 6 and I have to say the game is amazing, with great characters and great music! This is an amazing arrangement of Terra's theme and you make it sound like if FF6 was coming out onto the PS4. You have done an excellent job
Thanks so much!! :D
The time signature gives a more traditional feel to this piece. Beautiful work.
Thank you very much!
Without any doubt THE best Final Fantasy game! Terra's theme is gorgeous... ^o°
I can never pick between this and FFX, i love them both
The BEST Theme in ALL of Final Fantasy!
It's up there!
Haven’t listened to this in a while. Came home from a stressful day and needed some peaceful Ff “3” music. It hit the spot.
I see FF6 i like
I see Giygas, I like.
We are simple people Indeed.
:)
A man who knows what he likes, I can respect that.
Excellent arrangement while keeping to its original style.
Thanks! ^_^
Simply epic. Nostalgic in every way, this is life's music.
Same here. There's just so much FF6 tunes buried out there that pop out randomly.
Just one more thing
I have one request
LONG LIFE TO MAESTRO REBECCA!
Welcome back. I hope there is also joy to be had here!
This is amazing - really appreciate the drop box! so great for music in my D&D campaign! Thank you so very much!
Thank you as well. I hope you have a great few sessions with them!
I searched " Final Fantasy VI Main Theme" and I saw this and now I cant stop listening to it.
Thanks again!
One of the most emotionally heavy remakes of one of the most emotionally heavy songs from a game soundtrack, perfect, congratulations on this arrangement!
Thanks!
God damn , I’m tearing up after 6 seconds
We should make a petition...remake, sequel, or a live action drama game of thrones style.
What a fantastic stress busting melody so peaceful........
I'm glad it helps! ^_^
I just wanted to let you know that I used this as part of my wedding march. It was perfect! Thank you so much!!
Wow! That makes me incredibly happy! ^_^ Congratulations, by the way!
Great take on this music. Great way of fleshing out the song from its original MIDI counterpart.
Thank you!
Still one of my favorite Overworld themes, and beautifully arranged.
Thanks again! :D
Best FF ever made. I love this song well done. Makes me think of the game :)
You are expanding on what's already been written. That is what music is about; personal interpretation and the internal expression of it all. Sharing.... What you've done here is marvelous. You did it. You represented the theme in opening, then brought it all together with the march up till the end.
Thank you.
I have listened to this everyday, at least once, since I found it a few weeks ago. A very well done remix? I couldnt resist starting up another play through of it. Such a well made game.
Thank you so much! ^_^ That made my day!
Something magical about this theme, no doubt.
It was back in 1998 my first encounter with FFVI held place, the thing is that we were a bunch of north African cousins, each Sunday we feast on some ethnic north African food in our Grandmother's house, and rush back to the living room ( the only room where we could find a TV, also the Nana is always caring and compassionate with us and lets us play till nightfall)
There's not much i still remember from back then, only the fragments of some post-feelings, the sound of this theme mixed quietly, yet overwhelmingly with the voice of Mediterranean breeze coming in from the window.
Beautiful memory dude!
Awesome story, was so powerful it reminded me of my first time playing. Final fantasy game 22 years ago FFVlll
This is incredible.
Thanks! 🍬
The opening of the piece is truly the best "unfaithful" vesion, in my opinion.
Thanks!
Wow. This gave me goosebumps.
This is perhaps my favourite version of this song. Thank you for sharing this.
i am Japanese. What a wonderful performance!
Hi Japanese, I am Steve
Your musical skills are a gift, thank you for sharing them.
I didnt know that yt channel. Really great. Thank you very much, i appreciate how you have deepened the melody without going to far. There is some harpsichord sounds in the low that fits pretty well and much more. Thank you again.
Thank you, too!
Terra's my first video game character crush. This compilation reminds me of the good old days playing FF6 on the SNES. Good times.
This composition is absolutely beautiful
Thank you! :D
I'm back again and again on this one, really love this version, I've listened to many different version of Terra's Theme but what I love in this one is the magical touch you've put in it especially on the first part. That's not just a big orchestral epic performance, you've worked on the beauty of the track
Thanks. ^_^ That's exactly what I wanted to do. I feel that too many orchestral versions of her theme ignore her sensitivity and innate tranquility.
You have my gratitude for re-creating my favorite theme :) Much love for this beauty
Thank you!
i love this game the characters the adventures the story the music its all so beautiful and i love this remixed them
This is amazingly beautiful. You wonderfully captured the emotional bonds and responses this piece invokes. Well done!
Great work, if they ever do a remake of FF6 this should be the intro when they are walking to Narshe.
This is a sole instrument that attract me. When I was a child, this game was a most favorite game and when it came to the opening of the game, I was keeping listening this song again and again...
-Are you a main or a side character?
-I'm a FF6 character!
This is just so wonderful. You did a great job with this, it evokes so many different feelings.
Thanks so much.
Holy shit, way to capture the feel of Terra's theme, and way to remaster a classic. Thank you :)
Thank you. ^_^
One of the best overworld themes of all time for sure and such a great arrangement!
To date my favorite ff experience. It hit the right chord in perfection for gameplay, story, exploring, team building...so much. It took the strong points of previous titles and built a new experience. The PS title with Cloud was good but this was the last game that truly felt like ff to me.
I'd love to see the whole game redone in that art style.
It would indeed be lovely!
FF6 music is one of my favorite ost, you're true, the awakening truly is a terra's theme version 1, it is very similar.
The idea of taking some elements of both is really good. You get the emotions, the magic side & the epicness
Your flutes are really beautiful especially the one you're using at the begining
Thanks so much! ^_^ I appreciate your comment- and how well you understand the ideas/philosophy behind my work.
Amazing. One of best ff and themes
Just getting to know this game and to see this upload caught me by positive surprise. Not to mention your kind treatment of this theme! In yours, it is in well hands!
Thanks! ^^
That genuinely touched my heart
Thanks. ^_^
That transition to the more orchestral context was great, really interesting. Really cool incorporation of Awakening (which is definitely the better of the two sources). Great remix, very engaging.
Thanks, Adam. ^_^ I always love getting your comments.
This music takes me someplace full of simple magic
Thanks for the amazing arrangement of my favourite FF6 song! 🙂 Brings back memories ...
^_^ I'm glad you like it!
How I am just now finding this video is beyond me but such an amazing cover
す、すげぇ…
すげぇ…
ありがとう!
espero vivir lo suficiente para que algún día hagan una remasterización de este hermoso juego
Yo tambien.
The gentle majesty with the slight martial timbre. This is an amazing piece.
I love this theme to death and I have heard multiple versions of it but this one is still my favorite just cause it sounds so good and cause you have captured the many aspects of terra so beautifully through music
Thanks again!
@@RebeccaETripp you are very welcome! it becomes more enjoyable every time I hear this version
I hope one day FF6 will get the remastered version like FF7 remake series I'll probably cry , ff6 was my first ever jrpg basically introduced me to what jrpg and from then on jrpg are life now
