The Galaxy S6's camera could also be argued as larger than its actual size. The Nord 4 is hardly any different from those phones. If you want an actual example of a phone with a comically large lens, go look at the ASUS Zenfone 10. And let's be honest, these large individual lens housings still beats having a giant ass island anyday.
I don't understand why companies skimp on ultrawide cameras in budget phones over $400. They often include a low-quality 8MP ultrawide. By the end of 2024, a 50MP ultrawide with a good sensor size should be standard.

Rocking Nord 2 5G here, was thinking this could be the replacement to current daily. Disappointed the cameras spec hasn't really move on besides 4K/60 addition. Wide is not great either. Pro's the processor is a SD over mediatek. With a larger battery. But dull cameras has put me off on this especially for premium mid range price point. Design looks fab.

Looking good apart from the Selfie Camera which I think is the Weakest Link in the Camera Setup which is the opposite of My A35 which I think has its Selfie Camera as the Best Performing one. What do you want out of it? Quite a few options out there depending on your needs. There are solid camera phones like Honor 200. Purely gaming, X6 Pro. Poco F6 if you want a little extra. Realme GT6T & OP Nord 4 are essentially the same (even by the same manufacturer), so it's about the little things. Samsung A55 is always a safe option to go for if you doubt Chinese brands. Xiaomi 14T should launch sometime in Sept, which should be good since the 13T was a great midrange last year.

Even a Red Magic 9 pro, a gamer focus device, has a 50mpx ultrawide cam. That 8mpx cam just kill this device.
8mpx is plenty. Basically every other spec matters more when it comes to picture and video quality. Sensor size, lens quality, processing etc.
