The reason why the universe got destroyed is because the ancient one had to split timelines in one universe. Which slowly over the 300 years caused the universe to collapse as they both had time stones and were using it at the same time.
Nah that wasn't the ultimate cause. It was because Supreme Strange tried reversing the death of Christine Palmer, which in his universe was an "Absolute Point" because it was THE event that set him on the path to becoming Sorcerer Supreme in the first place. That's why Christine kept dying no matter what Strange did, including having a random heart attack on the dance floor, because she NEEDED to die to motivate him to become a Sorcerer. Not to mention that even if it wasn't, it was his whole motivation for doing everything that he did in the first place, so reversing it would give him no reason to go down the same path, which means Christine dies again...which means Strange goes down the same path to try and save her...which means he saves her...which means he doesn't go down that path...which means she dies...etc, etc, etc ad infinitum. By cancelling her death, he locked himself into a paradox loop. It's that paradox that destroyed the universe, because it just couldn't handle it.

And unfortunately, when that means others and the world are harmed to "create" his utopia, it does in fact make him evil. especially such large scale destruction. I love dr strange. But this version destroyed an entire universe. You cannot say his ends justified his means and purified him from being called evil. If destroying everything is not evil? then what is evil? Keeping it running? supporting and enabling life?
I'd personally like to imagine that, eventually, after strange supreme became isolated in his little pocket universe, he tried his best to make peace with the creatures he absorbed, kinda like Hohenheim in fma did with all the trapped souls in his philosopher's stone
What I like about the tentacle thing and what people might not have cought is that Strange only takes a small portion of the tentacled Elden thing. I like that despite marvel trying to explain every lil cosmic thing there are still beings beyond our understanding or control.

I mean, he destroyed his Universe because His arrogance, but after that, he saved the Multiverse with the Powers and the beings he absorbed. The same Powers in which he used to destroye everything he suposed to care at the begining. That's why, he isn't the best of all sorcerers but the one the Multiverse needs
This was the creepiest, but also the best episode imo for "What if". He did all this for "love" 💔. He tried to change that infinite point in time at all costs. The writers outdid themselves with this one. He destroyed the entire universe for 1 person. Then trapped himself in a prism to save himself. This is all conjecture but I'm thinking that for Strange to be a sorcerer in this universe, Christine must be dead. To wield and use the infinity stones would require sorcerer powers; to use it to bring back Christine would render him unable to use it- therefore unable to bring her back. We run into the same "wall" he broke through anyway, just a longer road of collecting other stones to get to it.
@@PYBR0 no that’s not how it works lol her death is a fixed point only because it was supposed to happen that way in his universe he doesn’t have enough power & only has the time stone to overwrite fixed point which isn’t enough, if he had all 6 stones he would be able to do it with a thought the infinite stones power together is limitless & exceeds a fixed point in reality

@@jacksimpson8529 you are a genuis

One of the greatest episodes in Marvel history. I don't see how season 2 can top it.
2:37 idk why but that shake when he said "centuries" is so cool
bunch of folk saying he isn't evil.
It's textbook Machiavellian. His desires and purpose trump all.
I mean Strange Supreme did it believing the world wouldn't be screwed up when he save her.
saving yo girl is more important
I love how the battle is just the voice actor probably having the time of his life voicing a character fighting against himself
I'd personally like to imagine that, eventually, after strange supreme became isolated in his little pocket universe, he tried his best to make peace with the creatures he absorbed, kinda like Hohenheim in fma did with all the trapped souls in his philosopher's stone
Yo Full metal Alchemist fan ❤
1:55 Hello again. *And goodbye.*
Cold af.
What I like about the tentacle thing and what people might not have cought is that Strange only takes a small portion of the tentacled Elden thing. I like that despite marvel trying to explain every lil cosmic thing there are still beings beyond our understanding or control.
Finally, a what if episode on yt with no absurd cuts
Just finished watching Dr strange 2 and I got to say the movies isn't doing strange justice
I mean he pulled his weight against fighting thanos with 4 infinity stones.
Did he just absorved a 6 eyed black purple evil raven?
Wow... he is so dmn powerfull that he even broke the copyright law and absorved the daughter of Trigon.
Lmao talking about power moves
Oh men Triggon vs Supreme Strange was gonna be amazing!!!
My money is on Supreme Strange
Its a creature from the Dark dimension

The Ancient One to The Hulk: "Strange gonna be the best of us"
_ Well no, but then, yes.
That was Strange of another universe though.
She also read the Darkhold so her saying he's the 'best of us' probably isnt a good thing!
This was the creepiest, but also the best episode imo for "What if". He did all this for "love" 💔. He tried to change that infinite point in time at all costs. The writers outdid themselves with this one. He destroyed the entire universe for 1 person. Then trapped himself in a prism to save himself. Solidifying his powers as being one of the strongest in the mcu.
I wonder if any of the beings he absorbed also have a hive mind across the multiverse like venom. Could be another reason Dr. Strange 2 happens
Kinda like a bleeding effect? Supreme Strange caused some mayhem & ripples across the multiverse and thus caused the problems to go into other universes?
@@castbet9183 I agree! He absorbed an infinite amount of mystical beings and possibly Gods based off the time lapse in this episode. Plus we've also seen the tentacle monster in 2 different timelines. There's no way they won't hold a grudge and attack other Strange's timelines since Supremes timeline is destroyed. I hope the writers don't recreate Supreme Stranges story so this theory can work lol
@@morelamj me too I liked that story shows desire for power is fine but we have to understand things are beyond our power and if we do those changes we being consequences to others who don’t have anything to do with it
People say Wanda is the strongest, but Strange Supreme says otherwise.
If there is supreme strange who is powerful than Wanda who knows there might be supreme scarlet witch powerful than supreme strang.
@@yin1862 Not really, Their magic is completely different. While it's true Scarlett witch can control creatures, Strange Supreme actually absorbed hundreds and he still has the time stone.
@@KasaiWolf07 I think that they are parallel to one another, and if they were to fight it would never end. It's not just that they share the use of magic (although different kinds), they literally have abilities that cancel each other out, like Supreme's raw power gets absorbed by Scarlet witch, scarlet witch's magic gets absorbed by Supreme Strange.
You’re right, Strange Supreme has more feats in this MCU. Wanda gets curb stomped and absorbed.
@@yin1862 No, all version of Scarlet Witch in the comics is not stronger than Dr Strange.
This is much fking better than shooting musical notes each other.
Bro! When that was happening I was rolling my eyes so hard lmao
All power comes with a price! That timeless phrase even counts for Dr. Steven Strange!
A hero would sacrifice you for the world. A villain would sacrifice the world for you.
I think the more appropriate term is that a hero will accept you sacrificing yourself for the world. But I suppose a hero might not agree to destroy the word to save you if you want to be saved.
2:05 I've seen enough stuff on the internet to know where this is going
This is the best episode in what if??.... That final dialogue... I am sooo soo sorry made me cry😟😟
Evil Dr Strange is wicked but awesome.
Is willing to destroy the universe to save his girlfriend but draws the line at eating bugs
Okay I now understand that by medaling with one of infinity stones could cause a total universal destruction

The visuals that were in this episode were absolutely stunning. The way the monsters shadows move within him during his real feels right out of Fantasia or classic Disney animations. The team that put this together need a raise STAT

Disney going back to its roots like the classic a night on bald mountain. XD
Marvel has always been dark wtf.. Disney bought it in 2009 but watch any marvel movie before 2009 then talk . Like blade for example. Also Disney doesn't control the comic so the comics are just as dark as DC comics for the most part
Other than Loki & NWM … What if is definitely the greatest thing for this phase 😭😭
Would of been a lot simpler to gather all infinity stones and simply willed her back into existence
Ye prob is he doesnt have anyone important to him to sacrifice for the soul stone since ya know his only important thing is Cristine
@@davidalacabo4298 mans got Wong what you mean 🥺
@@PYBR0 because she was the sacrifice for the soul stone which can’t be undone very 2 different circumstances lmao

Evil Strange is the TRUE Sorcerer Supreme
The fact that he does alright against a this version of himself is pretty impressive

Best episode of What if... so far
I think wanda won't stand against him, this strange was what i wanted in Multiverse of madness....
Too bad supreme strange never realized one thing. The death of Christine was a universal point in time because it put him on the path to be sorcerer supreme. He could have bypassed the issue by just digging up her body years later and reversing time on just her body until she was alive again. He is still sorcerer, Christine is back, universe not destroyed. That’s the 200IQ play.
