The reality of English product in 2023 is that you will get cheaper prices on 95% of product (including every booster box) by buying from out-of-state gaming stores because they are selling product for cheaper than the distributors, may not collect tax, may offer free shipping, and don't charge credit card fees. SV Base for $80 shipped from a game store across the country or $95+fees from a distributor. It could of course change, but that is the play in 2023 thus far.
Hey man, thanks for the videos! All I’ve been doing the past 2 months is trying to learn how to use wix, google sheets, how to ship and such. I’ve literally taken my video game time to 0% and pretty much replaced it with learning what you’re teaching. I’m a single dad mailman, walk 10 miles a day 9 to 5 job. Finally having fun doing something productive. Thanks buddy!
Great video, great content. I totally agree, I have not reached out to a distributor once since I started my business a year ago. I have just focused on growing my sales on my platforms.
Let me just say; This channel has been incredibly refreshing to watch. Hearing you say "no reality exists" or "I don't have faith in y'all to build a business" really grounds what you're showing us in reality. "This is the huge hurdle you have to face to get started, the markets probably going to go way down so its probably only going to get harder, these are the best steps to help you possibly overcome those hurdles if you really want to risk it." Thank you for not exaggerating your content for engagement. I'm just a guy trying to maneuver through all the get rich quick schemes and do something I really enjoy. I live paycheck to paycheck, and when I'm not working being able to find somebody who's kind enough to pull the curtain back on the industry a little, really means a lot man. Thank you, guess I have to support your business now lol
Not really, he’s kind of dogging people for looking for distributors which comes across as him not wanting other people to have their own distributors,, because yes. That is exactly how you find a distributor, you ask around make some calls/emails, and find someone willing to make a deal on either consistent or bulk buys,, and if you don’t have the capital? Don’t “grind or wait for 3 years” like he’s saying,, that is a major waste of 3 years what you actually want to do is get a business loan from a bank (so long as you have adequate credit) to buy those bulk things and get on your way
Thank you for the Video, Yes your information is all correct, and I have 2 distributions they called me after 3 years, And I have Web only. Great Content
In EU little bit different situation. You can get from big retails B2B better prices than from distributors unless you would buy thousands of boxes every set.
Great content! I wanted to do exactly what your doing back in 2020 here in the U.K. when the whole poke boom started but I just couldn’t find the correct distributor out in Japan, got ripped off twice and had massive delays in postage due to Covid that made me shelf the whole thing. Seeing how successful you have become is inspiring me to try again and get back into the grind. I probably fall into that similar place of I’ve sold a lot of stuff on eBay and various Card trading groups but never done it seriously, well I’m gonna make today the first day. Thank you again for the inspiration let’s see what happens!
@@TSoprano yup! I did I bought some product through a Japanese box selling Facebook group and sold them on for profit, kept going until I made about a grand, then life got in the way again and I stopped!
Regarding Japanese, I did the same thing! Thanks for the helpful info. I’ll be taking your tips and continue to push through in this amazing hobby and business.
Can you do a video on building your online customer email list, please? I have followed everything you've been putting out and it's working. Got my first distributor, started with TCGPlayer and eBay. Started with no capital and I'm climbing slowly. I've got a website but need more emails to really get off of the marketplaces.
I appreciate your videos, haven't gone through them all yet but, I'm currently in College for Business, because I plan on taking over my family's small store and maybe adding a hobby side to it. I am glad I found your videos! they will definitely help when I need advise.
Everything you said is spot on tbh iv been building my ebay business for around a year and a half selling , english, japanese and korean singles, and graded cards, I recently this march got 2 distributors within the UK which as an online only seller is amazing iv also got myself a distributor that doesn't sell tcg products but sells toys, lego etc I'm still selling on my ebay but looking to set up a website in the new year, I do around 20 hours a week with my ebay business atm while also working as a chef 35 hours a week as a chef and currently working on new products for my own trading card game Eternal Arena tcg. The grind is hard but if you stick to it itl work out.....sometimes😂😂😂😂
Definitely going to keep growing my channel and shop! I want to keep building relationships with people. It's gonna take time but thanks to you for lighting a fire under my ass ❤.
I was thinking about going into the stores around here and see if I can piggyback off their orders. For a few of course. Lol. I was gonna wait till I got 5k and give it a shot. Lol
Only one question: Did the people in Japan that you work with start their own store, buy the products from distributors, and then sell to you at a profit to them? Or did fu actual store owners to sell to you at wholesale type prices?
Not having a distributor for sealed product seems like such a non issue in the current market when some stores are fire selling the stuff sometimes under wholesale. There are plenty of brick and mortar stores out there currently struggling and fire selling their stuff sometimes under wholesale. If you take the time to build a relationship with them I'm sure they would be happy to offload some of their product to you at or near cost. I currently work with a Brick and Mortar store where I advertise for them at Card shows, which I was already doing anyway, and in return they pay my table fee and let me buy what I want from them within reason at cost. It's worked out great for both of us because as the smaller guy I have more bandwith to find ways to add value to stuff that they might have a harder time selling.
Thank you kind sir. I may give that a go. My goal is open up a brick and mortar one day. There are literally no card shops in my town but there’s such a high demand in the area.
I bought my first bulk Pokemon from someone on facebook that had bulk uncommons/commons and a ton of holos and reverses and a like 20 full art rares for $230 (5,000 cards total). Im struggling trying to sell any cards at all 😅 Thinking of going a different route. Im really good at selling handhelds, consoles and games currently and want to get into Pokemon selling but im so bad at it
@Kennefff Forgot to mention 4 binders full of cards too. Each binder I'm trying to sell for $50-$85 each so then I'd be in profit once those are sold then will still have a ton of cards to do bundles and sell
Hi, thanks for making this video. do you have a blueprint or recommendations in terms of how to differentiate between real seller/scammer either in Facebook/instagram like you mentioned? I am currently in that process and I need just a bit of guidance and help in this space if you don't mind :)
My best solution to finding a good distributor was buying off buyers in Japan and having alot of the sellers send you their personal info within my package on buys more than 500. I guess I got lucky 😅
Question for the community: Once you find a Japanese supplier, does anybody have an idea of how much you'd actually have to spend in the beginning to get bulk deals?
