- Hi and thanks for tuning in. We've got another kiln opening for you today which some amazing pieces made by my talented students. Such lovely diverse work from Scaffito to Slip Decoration and all things in between.
My Etsy Shop: www.etsy.com/uk/shop/potteryc...
My Website: www.thepotterycorner.co.uk
Had to rewind at 18:27 several times because I always heard "The glaze is Botz smokey corpse" 😳. I thought very hard to remember the german designation for this until it finally dawned on me "Rauchquarz" (smokey QUARZ!) 😂.
Ohh that made me laugh 😆. Yes - it is SMOKY QUARTZ- really great glaze. Thanks for watching 😊
Hi Sarah your hairdo is nice suits you well 👏 👏
Now the kiln unload, that is a good one, i like all the pieces, so nice to see what your students make. I really would like to see how the finished decoration build from the little bowls turned out ( with a bead or driftwood?)
Thank you for your video.
👋
Sheila 🌸
Thanks
Thank you Angela for your very kind Super Thanks donation. It really means a lot to me to know you appreciated this content. 😊
Hi Sarah,I'm hoping you are well.havent seen you since last year when you were running away for a weekend with yr lovely hubby and lovely dogs, I do hope to see you back soon and well, cheers from new Zealand,,
Hi Shirley and thanks for checking in with me. Life has thrown some curved balls in the form of elderly parents with dementia, the loss of my beloved Cissy unexpectedly and therefore I've been absent for a while. I am hoping to get back to it but am currently trying to find my clay mojo by getting into sculpture. The RUclips content is so time consuming that I just haven;t got the capacity to do very much at present. This will, I am sure, change in the not too distant future and I hope to be able to bring a new side to my work at that stage. I really appreciate your message. Stay tuned! Kind regards Sarah 😊
Love your new looks
Love your videos! New to glazing and learning so much from you! 🙏
Always so inspirational 😊
Awww that's really sweet. Thanks so much 😊

I just found you..i have been binge watching tonight.. I noticed you haven't been here in 5 mos.. I hope that doesn't mean you are done making youtube videos..your videos are nice.
Hello Faith and thanks for joining me. I've been taking a break but hope to be back in the future. Life has thrown a few challenges at me which I'm working through. I'm glad you're enjoying binge watching! 😊
I love what you did with your hair you actually look younger with the hair cut. Awesome❤
Aww thanks so much Bonnie. What a lovely compliment 😊

Thanks so much Michele. Always great to hear from you 😀
@@thepotterycorner That’s very sweet of you to say.
The new haircut looks great on you. These chicken plates are adorable. Nice kiln opening.
Thanks for tuning in again. I'm so lucky to have such talented students 😊
Your hair is lovely!
Awww thanks- that's kind. Thanks for watching 😊
Very nice, you are unique in your work, and nice person with effort and dedication, we need more like you Than you to have you
Thanks so much for your kind words. I really appreciate it.
Ah I know all about that having had to look after my Dad when mum had a massive stroke and went into care. Every weekend I drove three hours to seen them, do things for him and check in mums care etc. It went on for five years till they both passed away and during that I also battled breast cancer too. It was a hard road during that time but we do it for love. Take your time and get rest too. It all passes in the end! ❤
Thanks Lynne - it is hard but you're so right about doing it for love. ❤️
Ooh I love the chicken on the black clay 👏 I haven’t used black clay for a long time, as it makes a lot of cleaning on the wheel 😩 So hand building is the way to go 😊💚
Hi Mel - it was left from an earlier experiment. Can't say that I'm enthralled with it but the scaffitto looks great on it so I might try that myself. Thanks for watching 😊
Always love your videos! Learn something every time. I must say I’m happy you mentioned your hair. The first time I came across your RUclips I was struck by your hair. The most glorious head of beautiful silver hair I have ever seen. Your cut is cute…but your long was of fairy tales.
Awww that's so kind. My whole family has very thick hair so the long hair just got too much to manage. This short style takes minutes to dry! Thanks for your kind words 😊
Just wanted to say that we are missing you!! I pray you are well.
Hi Michele - getting there! Hoping to get back soon. Thanks for checking in.
Hair looks great!I think an emu egg should fit just right.
Haha - absolutely! ❤
Sarah...loving your new hair style...you are lovely,
Awww thanks- very kind . Thanks for watching 😊
Ddd'k
I pray you’re well. Hope you are just traveling. We’ve been missing you!!
Hi Michele - thanks so much for your message. Just having a bit of a break. It was soooo busy in the studio before Christmas that I haven't had much time to film etc. Hopefully I'll get back to doing more content soon. Wishing you a happy new year 🎉
Hi I’ve missed you and hope all is well? Thinking of you. Lynne NZ
Hi Lynne yes, thank you, everything is OK but I am having to give more time to my ageing parents at the moment which is making life a little tricky. I hope to be back soon. Thanks so much for thinking of me and sending a kind message. 😊
I love your new hairstyle!! I've also gone short and so much easier to wear. Also, is there a template for the sweet chicken?
Hi Diane and thanks for watching. Pip has her template for the chicken. It's a pretty simple outline which you could copy. 😊
I never comment on RUclips (hi from Ireland) but just have to say a huge thank you for your videos. I started pottery as a hobby this year and have learned so much from you. Your channel is my go-to if I have a question I want to look up. Love this, and all, your videos! I also love that your students have their own makers stamps. Can I ask do they make a stamp themselves or have them made somewhere?
Aww thanks so much. That's very kind. I'm so pleased to have helped you. Have a look on Etsy for makers stamps- I think my students bought from there. Just make sure you know the size you're ordering as some are so small you can't read them! 😁
Thank you! I'm off to fall down a rabbit hole on Etsy now 😂
Where are you? I hope everything is good with you🤗
At what temperature do you take your sneaky peek? TYIA
Hello and thanks for watching. I am very careful when taking a sneaky Peek not to blast cold air into the kiln. I just release the lid and gently Peek in but not until the kiln is below 100 degrees centigrade. Any hotter and you risk the pots 'pinging ' which is never a good sound 😊
How was your trip?
Great thanks. It's always great to get away for a few days. Winchester has lots to see and do. Thanks for tuning in 😊
😊hi Sarah I hope you are doing well. I don’t see your videos posting anymore. Like I said I hope everything is fine with you and your family. Sending good vibes for you and your family. I’m from Canada, Vancouver I know is far away but if I can help any form, let me know🤗
Hi Marcia and thanks for the message. I've taken a rest from RUclips over the last few months. Life has just got too hectic with ageing parents and the support I have to give to them. My father has Alzheimer's which is proving to be very challenging and time consuming. I am hoping to return but just not at the moment. I appreciate the message. Kind regards Sarah
@@thepotterycorner Hi Sarah I know how difficult it is, my Mom just pass away on June 5, very sad, she had the same, it is difficult but at least they are not in pain, just confused. Don’t forget to take care of yourself, lots of hugs for you and your family🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I miss you
Hoop everything is oké
Hi Eliza - yes, thank you, everything is OK but I am having to give more time to my ageing parents at the moment which is making life a little tricky. I hope to be back soon. Thanks so much for thinking of me and sending a kind message. 😊
Missing hearing from you. Hope all is okay.
Hi Jackie and thanks for the message. All settling here - it's been difficult sorting out my father. Hopefully will be back soon with new content. 😊
How hard would it be to create a glazed white ceramic rectangular vessel sink for a bathroom vanity? The only people on youtube creating such sinks use concrete, so I'm guessing it's a challenging process without factory equipment..?
Hi and thanks for watching. A challenge certainly but not impossible. Some of my students have made sinks by using a former. I might make one if I get to build an extension 🤔 😊
Hello, I miss your posts. I hope everything is fine. Best regards, Branka Mahnič Slovenia-Europe
Hello and thanks for your message. Life is pretty hectic right now but I hope to post new content soon. Thanks for checking in. Much appreciated.😊
@@thepotterycorner 😍
I've been reading your replies to find out if you are okay. I understand that it probably is a huge amount to work to keep these videos going, but I do miss you terribly. You are absolutely my favorite potter in the whole world! Be kind to yourself and those nasty little kiln cookies! I hope that you get back into making videos again. It's weird how you can become so attached to someone you've never met. Geoffrey
Oh sucks on the pinholes but as primarily a hand builder, that bowl is DIVINE
Thanks- yes pinholes are a pain! We'll be reglazing this piece and refiring 😄
@@thepotterycornerit’s a great bowl!
Love your videos! New to glazing and learning so much from you! 🙏
Hi Linda. Great to have your along. There are lots of glazing combos in the kiln openings and check out my video on my Top 10 glazes - lots of great info for beginners on that one. 😊
