Thanks David for taking the time to put this together. I too am learning late in life (64) ! I've got no calluses yet so it's frustrating since I can only play for about 20 minutes before the pain makes me stop but, this is inspires me to push on.
Me too, starting, seriously starting anyway at 65. Had a Gretch 9200 Boxcar sitting in the corner staring at me with its big Ole stainless steel eye, so I signed up for Guitars for Vets free, 11 one hour online courses . I received a Epiphone Pro-1 acoustic guitar from Guitars for Vets at the completion of my 11 lessons so now on my way to learning all I can, like this iconic song by the Dead ! Good luck on your journey !
Excellent!!! And I was listening to this song on my (long) drive home from vacation... making a mental note to learn this song... and there right in my inbox was the great lesson!!!! Nice!!!
Hello from Belgium , I took over the guitar recently and I watch your videos which are very well done . Thank you very much for the quality of your explanations . Obviously , I speak French but I understand well because your courses are very well done . Friends Thierrry
This song seems simple but its actually very tough for a beginner thats struggling with chord changes and is very good practice for getting familiar with open chordes and how to transition between them at a common BPM
Excellent lesson David! Though it was jarring as I came here directly from the “Wildflowers” upload - I wasn’t sure if you were the same person! I look forward to joining your patreon(?) and supporting such a great resource. I recently bought the “play along” GD book for this and other songs. It was great, but your iterative steps really helped me beyond what it provided. Thanks again, and Godspeed in these crazy times.
I looked everywhere for this lesson plenty of YT'ers teaching it but yours is definitely the best . Thanks David.
