I finally got my hands on a Cerises Pouchette for only $395 and still feel like I'm settling cause the cherries are so worn. I don't feel "proud" carrying it. The preloved market can be challenging.

I took bought a classic flap that had a lot of wear and tear and send it to the spa but after I feel like I didn’t like the feel and look of the leather anymore so I sold it , no regrets

I have made the shift away from vintage bags too. Now that I’ve learned how to take care of my bags, I find that many vintage bags have not been treated well. Like you mentioned, the misshapen issues are common. It also hard to clean them unless they are leather lined.
You might not notice the chipping on the hardware of the newer bags because they're newer, it's to be expected that it'll be more noticeable on older bags.
I like your reasoning and decision on pre-loved Chanel bags, I also enjoy your total Chanel collection new and otherwise :) Thanks for sharing your knowledge on luxury purchases.

i knooooow it really depends! Some styles you can only buy preloved (like a caviar mini for example) but even if it is preloved for me it needs to be very very good condition
It’s so hard to make the choice to have a bag spa’d and the. To buy a bag that’s been to the spa.. in my experience I’d have to be keeping the bag to get it spa’d in the future - I’ve had the same experience as you!
@@Jessiestyle yes same, I got my Speedy repainted and same thing about the leather texture… it’s something a lot of resellers don’t disclose either about a bag having been restored… unless you specifically ask.

Hmm I only wish Chanel was more transparent about their restoration policy. I bought my white classic flap and black reissue from the boutique, and they told me the 5 year warranty applies to all classic/reissue bags regardless of color. They said they would restore/clean the leather of the my white bag and replace the hardware if needed. I know in writing it only mentions black bags, and I find that so odd... so it means we never have a guarantee...
