Hi Andy! I really enjoyed listening to your experience as a basketball coach and what you imparted on the kids. Young teams often reflect the personality of their coach and they found the right teacher, mentor and example in you. How special that you took the gift from the granddad and bought a treasured keepsake. Of course, you don’t do it for the money. lol. However, it’s nice that you took the gift and turned it into something you will always remember. I enjoyed hearing your thought process in picking out the right card and within the budget of your gift. I love the choice. My favorite kind of video! Thanks for making us part of your experience. Take care
Hi Terry! I’m glad you liked the video. I knew this one wouldn’t be for everyone but I loved the card and just got it in the mail earlier in the week. It took a while to find the card within the budget. I failed to mention that in the video. It was a very successful season. The kids played hard and played well and had fun. I’m coaching coach pitch now and we had our first game last night. That was a lot of fun as well. Thanks for all the support, Terry. I always look forward to your comments and appreciate them. Hope you’re having a good week!
Hey Andy I absolutely love this story! I have to believe you are an awesome coach and I’m sure you have left a lasting impression on those young kids! Very generous of the grandfather to give you the $20 and really cool that you used it to purchase that sweet 1992 Stadium Club Jordan, it’s a great way to remember your team!
Hey Jim! Thank you so much for the kind words. I try my best to be a good coach for the kids. Doing flag football and baseball right now. Yeah, that grandfather handing that over was so generous. It really made the season even better. Thanks for watching and all the support you give my channel, Jim. Hope you’re having a great week!
Hey Chris! I’m very happy with this selection. It took me a while to find it for the price point I needed. I failed to mention that, haha. Thank you for all the support on my videos. Hope you’re doing well.
What a great story, Coach! I love that one of the kid’s granddad wanted to give you the $20 as a token of appreciation. You turned it into the perfect thing to commemorate the season…so glad you didn’t go with Rodman 😆 Those kids will have great memories for the rest of their lives and always remember you as one of their coaches along the way. What a privilege to be able to have a part in their lives and help mold them into fine young men. I’ve never forgotten a coach and was very fortunate to have had some great ones myself. Love this story and thanks for sharing it with us, Andy!
Hey Hugo! I thought I responded to this a couple of days ago. I apologize. I’m thankful I didn’t have a kid who had a personality like Rodman, haha! Thanks so much for this fantastic comment, Hugo. Sadly not a lot of parents want to coach. We had issues in basketball needed if to recruit more and baseball needed more as well. I think if you truly love a sport you should give back to it and help continue to grow it. Hope you had a great weekend and your Monday went well. Take care my friend and thank you again.
What a great story D!! You know you’ve ignited that passion for the game throughout the season. Cause of that, some kids never gonna put down a bball. As I’ve coached many seasons in the past, I always look back at them with fondness…even the 0-14 team HA! Well done!!
One kid shared with me his favorite Christmas gift was a basketball and that made me smile. Basketball is such a great game. Hey, nothing wrong with going 0-14. Of the kids kept coming back for more that was a successful season! Thanks for watching and the great comment! Hope you have a great week!
Great card to remember your team by Andy! I coached my daughter’s basketball teams for years when they were in grades 3-5. Nothing better than seeing young players starting to develop their skills and gain their love for the game. I enjoyed that time in my life!
Hey Steve! That’s great you coached your daughter’s teams. You’re so right about seeing the skills develop along with the love of the game. I’m coaching baseball and flag football currently. It’s just fun sharing the game with the kids. If you truly love a sport I think you should give back to it in some way. Thanks for watching and the great comment! Hope you’re having a great week.
Outstanding! Having fun is all that matters in sports at that age. That is what really gets them to come back and play again the following years. Add in a little bit of success and they are hooked
Thanks, Allen! You’re so right having fun and mixed in with success gets them hooked. I’m trying that with baseball right now but unfortunately all of our games have been rained out. Thanks for watching and all the support you’ve given me. Hope you’re having a great week.
Super video Andy. What a fantastic story about you purchasing the Jordan card. It is so great that you can coach. It is so great when you can help young kids and as a former coach it was always fun working with the kids. I always tried to win with them and always told them what we learned when we won and lost. Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed as always.
Hi Ed! Thanks for watching and commenting! That’s fantastic that you coached as well. Good for you to give your time for the kids. Youth sports needs more coaches. Thanks for sharing that. Hope you’re doing well!
I loved this story Andy! Congrats on what sounded like a great and very successful season. You hear so many horror stories of the coach/players parents dynamic, but this was so nice to hear. You picked a great card to commemorate the season using that $20! Thanks for sharing this!
Hey Joe! It was a great season. Luckily I haven’t had any of those horror stories of parents and players. I’m pretty laid back though so maybe it helps I’m not an overbearing coach? Thanks for all the support my friend. I hope you’re doing well!
Hey Scott! Yes! Parents can put a damper into it. I also joined the board of directors for our youth basketball league and that’s a whole other video of stories, haha. Thanks for watching and the great comment. It’s great that you coached as well. If you love a sport it’s important to give back.
Outstanding card and a great reason to have purchased this card. The reason you have it will always be a memory of the kids and the season. It’s the memories and reason for having a card in a collection that mean the most. Great choice in Jordan and the image for the reasons you mentioned. My wife is a Jordan collector as well. Hope all is well Andy. Have a great rest of your week.
Hey Greg! I completely agree. Even thought this wasn’t an expensive card the meaning behind it is priceless. So cool your wife is a Jordan collector. I didn’t know that. Hope you’re having a great week,
Hello Andy, great you and the kids had fun during this basketball season. Great this grandpa gave you $20 and you used thoses "bucks" pretty well in this sweet MJ card. Thanks Andy for sharing and Happy coaching basketball.
Hey Fabien! Thanks for the kind words. I had a blast during the season. I was sad to see it end. I’m very happy to have this card now to remember the season. Hope you are well and having a great week.
Great share Andy. You can never go wrong with a Michael Jordan. Cool way to connect the card with that season. Love the thoughts of MJ when you look at the card. Bordeline Arrogant! Lol. Tons of rebounding Rodmans! Super awesome and kind of the grandfather. Enjoyed as always Andy! Keep tbe videos coming!
Hey Steve! Thanks for all the support on my videos. You’re so right and can never go wrong with a Jordan. It amazes me how many kids still idolize him even though they have never seen him play. Thanks again, my friend. Hope your day is going well.
Howdy Andy ! Hope all is well. I know it's really hard to accept a gratuity for something you want to do for the kids and are happy to do, not for tips from those on the sidelines. Some feel guilty for not being able to coach because of their job or other reasons. After declining once or twice, I've learned it's better to accept their gesture of appreciation for teaching the team as much as their kid or grandkid. Take it like he's saying "Hey Coach ! Buy yourself a burger & beer with this 20" $20 is a very nice gesture, right in the middle, more than a cup of coffee, and not a 100 bill. Some coaches coach the sport, heavy on fundamentals, with lots of yelling and explaining which can put pressure on a young kid who needs the opposite if he's gonna have fun and then really want to learn the sport. You sound like the perfect Youth Coach. Thanks for taking the time to do that. My Dad coached my brothers soccer team in the 70's. I would assist. Lots of fun. Everyone has already said it, but I'll say it as well, Great episode Andy, real concise. I am glad you still have some heartfelt stories to tell. This is why you are the only channel I did not un-subscribe. Feel free to leave a comment anytime. Take care, C ya !
Hey Tom! I thought I responded to this a couple of days ago. I apologize for the late response. Thanks for the kind words. Great point about the $20 bill. I figured the kids will only retain about 20% of what I say and it won’t be the same 20% for each kid, haha. Might as well try to sneak in the fundamentals while playing some games. I miss commenting on your channel. I probably shouldn’t feel like this but since you’re sharing your father’s collection I feel weird about leaving a random comment on a different episode. Hope you and Otis are doing well, Tom! Give him a pet for me.
Howdy Andy ! I totally understand about leaving random messages. But you see how my messages are always long. Times that by a few viewers and it adds up. I save so much time not commenting or having comments. I do miss some, but the time I save far out weighs the comments. Notice my Shows are longer, cause I put in more time, it also makes a difference having a printer at my folks. You watch, as soon as I get back on the hill my Shows will be much shorter and only a few a month, I hate writing them out by hand. Waaaah. I counted 75 Players worthy of an episode of their own. I just added 6 more to work on, 3 are living. Otis said to give you a sneak preview of the Show coming out on Monday. It's on pitcher Ron Necciai. I didn't know of him, but my baseball knowledge is small. Let me know if you heard of him. Maybe I'll turn the comments on for his episode just to see how many people know him. Talk to later ! C Ya !
Great stuff Andy. That’s really awesome you found a card to represent the team. That’s so cool how some of the kids developed a like/love for basketball. It makes the time and commit so worth it right?! Enjoyed hearing this story of the basketball year! Hope you’re having a good week
Hey Mike! There’s really not much better than when a kid or a parent tells you how much they’re enjoying the season. For the life of me I do not understand why more parents aren’t involved. It’s such a joy to help coach your kids. Thanks for watching Mike and taking the time to comment. Hope baseball is going well. We’ve had many rainouts so far.
Thanks, Drew. I also coach flag football and baseball. Along with being on the board of directors for basketball. Keeps me moving. Thanks for your time!

Great story Andy! You made a great choice and you described that Jordan card perfectly. It really represents early 90’s collecting for me.
