I hope you enjoyed this comparison video. Do you use one of these products to create white details on your colored pencil pieces, or do you use another method?
OMG 😮! The whole time I'm screaming at my screen saying "your brushes!! Rinse out your brushes!" The TUTTW looks like a cool blue-white while the other one is definitely a cream-white.
This is such a helpful video as I have had zero luck using the brush n' pencil. I tried it once and just couldn't work out how much of it to use, and it dried too quickly etc. Now I have watched your tutorial I will have to try again. But honestly it seems like a lot would get wasted once it dries out on the Glassine. I've been using an oil based white paint pen and I'm not sure how archival that is but I figure oil on oil/wax has to be better than using water based pens, lol.
Thanks! I’m glad it was helpful. There is some waist when you use it for sure, however you need very little snd when you actually working on piece you can get a lot done before it dries. I have had these the touch up texture and titanium white for at least 8 months now and I have barely made a dent in them. So I feel they would last a long time. although I don’t just work in colored pencil, so you would use it up faster if that’s all you worked in. What oil based pen do you use? I would be interested to look into it.
I got one of those little bottles. Just haven't had the time to compare it with the touch up mixture yet. Although what frustrated me with the mix is how fast it dries. So I kind of like the bottle better so far. But again, not much practice yet. Can't wait to see what you think.
I was really interested in trying it because as you say it's just one bottle so more convenient but I will give one spoiler away, they both dry fast! I'll show you what I mix them on which seems to help with drying a bit, also I show the difference with how colored pencil layers on top and which I find to be more opaque.
@@NaomiCoutureArt Can't wait... I got one of those bottles in a Scrawlrbox and didn't edit the video yet because my drawing really didn't come out nice at all. So I need to draw something else, but haven't had the time yet. Soon, hopefully.
Just fyi, there's something really sketchy going on w/ the Liquid White Colored Pencil. I also got a sample in my ScrawlrBox but waited too long to try it and it had dried up. So I tried to buy it a year or so ago and it wasn't available at all, anywhere. On her IG there were a lot of complaint comments and she hadn't posted for anything for a while. I just used your link today to Etsy and commenters are upset as they were allowed to pay for the product but never received it. Ugh! Anyway I had ordered the Titanium White & Touch Up Texture so your vid is so helpful for that!
Oh no that is awful! Thank you for letting me know. I will remove the link to Etsy. I do prefer the touch up texture and titanium white anyway. It just would have been nice for the convenience of the other product. However mine ending up drying up too. I have had the brush and pencil products for a couple years now and no issues with them.
I’m so glad it was useful for you! I still prefer the touch up texture and titanium white although I don’t always use it. I try to save my white areas but it is nice knowing there is something available if you need it!
Thank you for all this pertinant information. More importantly, you have the rare and innate teaching ability that so few have, and which cannot be taught. I'm your newest fan!
I have to said... Thank you!!! Recently I bought a titanium white from Brush and Pencils...but unfortunately, I couldn't buy the touch of texture, because it has a warning that it contains hazard, and that it can't be sent by air or sea... I live in Puerto Rico, and they do not send this product in my Country! and I looked for more online stores, but they all said the same thing. And now this product that I bought is unuseful for me😔, because I have tried to make a mixture and have another option that is not touch of texture, and none that I have tried has worked... I tried Holbein Meltz, and Gamsol Odorless Mineral Spirit with the titanium white... the mixture looks good, but when you run your fingers over it, it comes off. So this video has been very good, because I did not know that there was another product like it. I definitely need it! since I have no choice.
I’m sorry you can’t use the titanium white. The liquid white is a great alternative. I found it on Etsy Canada. I’m not sure if I put a link but I would check on your Etsy if you have one in your country.
@@NaomiCoutureArt thank you, yes, I order the liquid white on Etsy online this is a great alternative! But for me, it's sad, because I can use the titanium white...but, I have this other alternative, thank you!
This might be a dumb question, but do you think I could make my own liquid white by mixing the brush and pencil products together into an empty dropper bottle with a mixing ball? I love the brush and pencil stuff but sometimes it’s kind of a pain to have to mix them together when I want to use it. And I’m not all too impressed with the product in the bottle you demonstrated to use that instead. I figure if I can mix them together in my own bottle it will keep it from drying out and will make it a lot more convenient to use. What do you think?
I still use the brush and pencil products. I have not tried pre mixing it in another bottle. It does dry out when mixed so I’m not sure how well it would last. If you want to try it just mix a small amount at first so you don’t end up wasting as much of it does dry out. Please let me know how it goes if you do try it because that would be a more convenient way to use it.
@@NaomiCoutureArt I think I’ll give it a try in a small one like you said and I’ll let you know what happens :) If it dries out it’s not a huge deal. It might be worth the experimentation lol

Hahaha after that first part I did rinse them right away. But I should have mentioned that it’s important to do that too. Thank you ❤️
Yes and I think that makes a big difference in opaqueness.

How do you clean the brush? Soap and water?
I just rinse it off in the sink. You can also use a brush cleaner like the pink soap to clean it.
Great👌👌
Thanks 😊
