Hello Teppo, thank you for sharing. I believe Sony also has an app called Creator's App, which is awful. It seems that not everyone is clear on which app you are referring to. It would be beneficial to include the name of the app in the description to prevent any confusion.I expected to see an icon or the app's name on the screen at some point in the video, but it didn't appear.
Monitor+ is the name of the app.
He mentions it at 0:48

being able to control my fx3, a7siii, and even the a7rv from one app at the same time is absolutely game changing for a solo shooter! huge W out of sony.

Holy shit finally... Not only is the imaging edge app terrible, but my A7siii can't connect to it and there's 0 support from Sony. I can't even get an email back lol. Well this new app looks great. I'm hoping it works!! Thanks for the video buddy!

Thank you for the video. The creator app didn’t work at all for over a year then after firmware updates it worked somewhat but was unstable. This new app looks pretty legitimate hope it works well with my a7iv
I use to connect my iPad to my canon sl2 but the connect features super choppy and delayed so it’s only really useful as a generic display for studio photos

wow panasonic has "Image app" for my g85 in 2016 that do the same job.
lol yea canon had WiFi capabilities that allowed you to do all this back in 2013/2014. A lot of companies are using apps now.
Love the app but no audio monitoring. Ugh. But maybe soon

I'm sure someone else will have mentiioned this but there are 2 apps that can control Sony cameras. Monitor+ is an independent app with a free and paid version. Monitor & Control is the new Sony app Teppo is talking about in this video. The thing I can't figure out is how to view with a LUT - I have a Sony a7siii connected to M&C via USB. Can't see any way of adding a LUT to view slog3 in normal colour on the phone screen. Sticking to the Shinobi ii until I find it!

Sony needs to bring this app to the vlogger cameras and prosumer cameras(zv-e1 etc and a7cii) - it’s these consumers that need it! Professionals use other monitors as Atomos etc.
iOS page says ZV-E1 and A7IV are coming in october

This app remains useless to most of us, coz 1 it's not new & 2 it's been incompatible with most cameras
It is missing the ability to WB for a solo shooter. FPS and codec are all gimmicks. These would be chosen and set on camera way before the app was launched but it is a struggle to position a grey target or passport colour checker and then perform a WB. If you could see the target on your phone and initiate a WB stood in front of the lens that would ease a solo shooter’s work load immensely.
Does this app also works on The Galaxy s24 Ultra, or the Galaxy Z Flip6? Ps.: The smartphone from Samsung run on Android
Looks good but I hope they release for android as a lot of creators do not use apple products and makes it only a half offering.
I'm happy for all users of FX3 and other supported models, but I have an A6700 and... the app won't work with this camera, bummer

Really good demo at a great pace, so many people drag this sort of stuff out. Well done for demoing and videoing at the same time, not easy.
A7rv firmware updates are halted by Sony.
I dont have the time to watch the whole thing. Does this add timecode?!?! that would be the single greatest thing sony could have done
Do the picture profiles output to the hdmi? Wondering if they can serve as a color grade for realtime video switching.

It only works for a handful of cameras but thankfully it works with my fx30
Have the Sony FX30. Wanted to try and take a still photo but it seems photo mode is not yet supported for the camera in the app.

Hi Teppo, Have you been able to use this with a cable for IOS devices? I'm curious if they've added that feature yet as that would make this app a bit more usable as a monitor. The dropping frames all the time is a bit tough to use when trying to do smooth gimbal movements

Yeah, this app is insane. Quickly setting max/min focus for wireless focus pulls are amazing. The touch to track is great. Multi-cam monitoring! Input LUTs, all the tools of a full featured external monitor. It's free...really amazing. If you have a Sony cam then you can't skip it. I've not been able to get it to pair with our Burano yet, which is annoying because it is supported, but it pairs immediately with the A1, AIII, FX6 etc..Sony is the best for giving it's users the most out of their hardware and they carry it over to the app so well here.
How does the feed transfer, is it Bluetooth?
@@markshirley01 I ended up getting it to work on the Burano by logging into the camera's wi-fi on my phone and then in the menu of the burano opening a verification QR. The A1 uses bluetooth. Still need to upgrade the Burano firmware so I'm hoping that makes it a quicker process.

The FX3 is their "cinema" camera, not the A7SIII, if they put all of the features from the FX3 into the A7SIII then the only difference in the two would be color and a fan. And all of us who paid the extra $$$ would have been ripped off. Sony won't do what your asking because there would probably be a lawsuit.

It doesn't say it supports the ZVE10 !!! did you manage to get it to work? I just looked it up and couldn't see the ZVE10 in the supported cameras and only the ZVE1 coming in October from the ZV line up!!!. And when you say "not free at all" what's the deal? They charged for the app???

@@TeppoHaapoja@TeppoHaapoja Yeah, the Camera Control app IMHO is second to none to RED, if not even on par. The autofocus is pretty unmatched as it often tracks my eye in a video I play on a MacBook or iPad.
