  • Escape the crowds and prices of Banff National Park, and come explore the east Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. This is my favorite part of the Canadian Rockies, where it's a little quieter but just as beautiful.
    This is part 1 of our road trip through this area, starting in Radium Hot Springs. We'll show you the scenery, some hikes, hot springs, a unique restaurant and the local craft brewery.
    Radium Hot Springs is like the Austria of Canada!

    So glad you plugged The Old Salzburg! I can't go to Radium without a schnitzel champignon and spatzle. You did a great job showcasing the area. Best video of it i've seen!

    Hi, I really enjoy your videos. Myself, my partner and our 3 year old daughter will be taking our holiday this year to Canada. We are from Matlock in the county of Derbyshire, England (also very nice part of the world). We are flying to Calgary on June 2nd, stopping in Canmore for 4 days, Lake Louise 2 days, Jasper 4 days and then finally Fairmont Bungalows for 3 days. We have based a lot of our route on some of your videos, so thank you very much for all your advice, tips and nice videos. Your dog is very cute 🥰

    I spent 4 formative high school years in Grand Forks, BC (West Kootenay town)and never ventured past Ainsworth Hot Springs. So beautiful and I am a sucker for schnitzel and beer! 🍻

    You truly picked a wonderful Motel. And the owners are wonderful. Another AMAZING place for Schnitzel is the Black Forest Restaurant- which is only a few minutes down the road towards Invermere. You should try and stop in Invermere (Between Radium and Fairmont) as well. Our entire Valley is fantastic. Us locals know how lucky we are to live here in the Columbia Valley :) Glad you enjoyed your visit

      Invermere and Fairmont is part 2!! I wanted to try the Black Forest so bad but it was closed the one day we were available to go. Guess that means I have to plan another trip asap!!

    Radium is not $8 dollar anymore its $16 now we where there this summer 2024 very expensive for a family and water was dirty maybe because they had a storm that went through 2 days before, they could of cleaned it. I wish Canadians would get a break on entry since we paid for it first place.

    • @alysmalls
      @alysmalls  Год назад +1

      Yes, it's only an hour and a half away and there are no tolls, except you need a park pass to enter Banff National Park (just purchase at the gate on the highway)
