Hi, in the video you mention that the pass costs $21 dollars but on the website says $72.25. Where did you get that price? and definitely not $10.25 for solo
@@camaleon18 Daily admission is $21/car (family or group), $10.50 for a solo adult, or $72.25 for a solo adult annual pass or $145.24 for a group annual pass. it's all listed quite clearly on the website here: parks.canada.ca/pn-np/ab/banff/visit/tarifs-fees
I'm from Calgary and my advice is to stay somewhere in Canmore which is just outside the Banff gates, and it's much cheaper than staying in Banff...The only thing I can add to the video is that just inside B.C.s Yoho Nat'l Park is Takkakaw Falls and the short drive there from Lake Louise is filled with things to see. Takkakaw Falls is a ~1200 foot drop with the main upper Falls at ~ 830 feet...! So, if you're going to Banff already, don't miss the treasures to be seen in Yoho...!!!!
@@masaladosa222 I'm not sure you can find much cheaper hotels in Calgary. For Jasper, I'd recommend searching online for hotel pricing. I'm far more familiar with Banff and Canmore than I am with Jasper...Sorry...
I lived and worked in Banff/Canmore for 30 yrs or so. This is a pretty honest video with good advice. Banff/Jasper is the second nicest place in the Canadian Rockies.
I appreciate that you videos focus more on the location than on you, yourself! Your advice, humor and thoughtfulness make you the perfect host/guide to us, the uninitiated as we try to plan your trips; your have been the most useful/helpful of all the RUclips vids I've watched. Thank you
I'm taking my flight today to visit Banff National park for a week and I didn't had a clue that you needed to take a shuttle to visit Moraine lake! I went and got myself a ticket! Thank you so much for mentioning this in your video! I can't wait to see most of the beautiful places you've mentioned. Great video!
Thank you for sharing this! I'm planning a trip to Canada next year with Banff being the main place I want to visit, and this video has by far been the most helpful - easy to follow, concise & informative. I'm from New Zealand and I've only ever been overseas to visit extended family (except Australia, but it's so similar to NZ in terms of driving etc it doesn't really count 😆) so the planning process has been a little daunting and confusing! Thanks for making it so much easier! 😊
I just returned home yesterday from Banff. What a magnificent visit. Your video is an amazing representation of the area. Thank for creating such a beautiful video 🩵
Wow, been to Banff region for 3 trips and over 10 weeks and this is probably the best overview type videos i've watched on the area. Thanks! And I love the little bit of Radium you threw onto the very end of the video, just went there on my last trip and stayed at the Inn on the Canyon, had an awesome dinner at Helna's Stube and ate a bunch of Ice Cream at Screamers hehe.
Travelling to Calgary from Scotland in a few weeks! Can’t wait 🥳 We have a guided tour booked for a day in Banff. Your video has made me look forward to it even more!
Fantastic video!!!! I’m travelling from Sydney to Canada over Nov/Dec and have Banff booked in. 👍 I have watched soooo many RUclips videos, many very good but yours has been brilliant. Great info on transport, shuttles etc and tips on must see spots. Thank you!!! 👏🏻
If you're looking for place to stay, these are my top picks for the less expensive hotels in Banff likewhereyouregoing.com/cheap-places-to-stay-in-banff/

@@alysmalls Thanks, but due to the wildfire smoke, we canceled everything the night before we where to leave,🤨. But we booked Yellowstone the next day and are here loving the Old Faithful Inn. Think we made a good choice,👍.
Such a useful and informative clip. Concise and get to the points. Thank you so much! I and my family will be traveling to Banff around 10-13 June. My only concern now is booking shuttle bus to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake through Park Canada but need to book 48 hrs in advance.
Very well done video! I have visited most of those spots and they are spectacular! We tented in the campgrounds just outside of Banff and drove to day hikes from there every day.
I live in Canada and never been to Banff and after watching this video I am have mixed feelings. Vising Banff seems like a great way to ruin my vacation, less crowded and cheaper places are available.
Early to mid-September is beautiful and should still be warm. As you get closer to end of Sept it could be snowy, but usually just a light dusting. The fall colors are lovely
We are planning a trip to Banff and Jasper this Aug! So excited. I would like your video on the must see things to do and see. We are 2 couples in our 50s. So we would like to hike the easy, not too hard to get to things. We are all in good shape, but not avid hikers
Wow, so informative! THANK YOUUUU!! The beauty is stunning and jawdropping. I have a few questions: do any tour buses or shuttle drive the Icefields Parkway? Can you take public transportation from Canmore to Banff or rent a car in Banff or Canmore? Would really love to visit from the U.S. next year and not do a long one-day guided tour from Calgary in favor of fitting my budget.
Thanks Aly! We are making a trip here in July and this is the most informative video I’ve seen! We booked a private shuttle to take us to Morraine lake. We’re super excited! I was wondering if you’ve gone to lake Louise early for canoeing?
Aly you did a great job explaining everything there. I liked to go to Cranbrook and revelstoke in BC. Prices have gone up so much sense. I was there in 2003, but it seems like yesterday.
Thank you for sharing. Got a lot of tips 👌 Been watching tons of videos for our upcoming trip and you made it very clear and simple. Thank you 🫡 Cheers !🥂

Just watched video. Thanks for info on Moraine Lake Bus service. Staying in Golden last 2 wks of September. Mostly day hiking. What are your favorite breweries in the surrounding area? I enjoy tasting local beers during my travels.

Hello! Loved the video could you let me know some options of hotels to stay at in that Radium Hot Springs area in September? It looked gorgeous thank you!
I'm heading back from my second trip to Banff, and I'm staying in .... Golden, BC. Sounds crazy, but it's really only an extra 15min drive to the sites I plan on hitting like Lake Louise, Bow Lake, and accommodations are more that 50% cheaper than staying in Canmore.
@@alysmalls - I’ll hit the Stanley Glacier Trail, but I’m open to suggestions. And Radium Hot Springs always makes me think of Lightning McQueen ⚡️ 😂. - but yes, I will be looking into it. I’ll stop in Canmore on my way back into Calgary for a visit and Rocket Pie pizza!

You don’t need the park pass if you don’t come with a car but use e.g. a shuttle service to get to Banff from Calgary airport. And in Banff proper you can use the available bus system to many sites not just around town but also to e.g. lake Louise
Hi Aly - do you know if you can drive your personal car to Louise Lake parking lot (not the LL park and ride ski resort) and then take the "connector shuttle" from Louise Lake to Moraine Lake?
