This hits home too hard, the reality check of "making money off pokemon". I've been there too (side hustle only) and couldn't make it. Rooting for you!
Your channel is awesome. I've been watching you for a while now and just recently subscribed. Imo, your job selling Pokémon Cards is fantastic, but combined with this type of content creation you will get even further. Further than you ever could've imagined. Keep it up, you deserve everything you have accomplished, I'm a huge fan!
For sure! I have no immediate goals to become big on RUclips but the videos are actually quite enjoyable for me right now. Glad you enioy them sharshock, you are doing great yourself!
I love the openness man there’s an aura about you that is just relatable to those of us that are real people. You are far past just being a Pokémon youtuber. You make real content and for that I thank you brother.
This is inspiring really, I started selling bulk almost a year ago and its work its way up to sending in graded cards, hardest part for me is finding quality cards
Awesome video! Favorite pancake topping is just plain ole butter. The part where you said the people who put more effort in are rewarded with more work. That hit me hard I currently work about 110 hours a week at my current job, I want out so bad. Don’t get me wrong I’m making over six figures but I can’t stand the nonsense. There are employees in the company that are friends/related to the boss who essentially do nothing but are compensated almost the same as me. I want to do something else or my own thing but can’t help but think of the failure.
Thank you Steven. What you did and what you are doing has inspired me. You already found your own way, and I have to find mine and keep going on. Thanks. 有難う御座います。
I just found your channel a couple days ago and have watched a few of your recent videos. You just seem like a good dude. Keep it up! Congrats on your business 👍
This is such an interesting take to see from this specific lifestyle. You never hear about the paths that don't turn out the best, but I'm glad you're sharing ur story. Although, this is just my thoughts; If I was to go into the Pokmon TCG side hustle, I'd also play the game somewhat competitively. Because ur already cracking all those packs and selling them. You're bound to find the correct cards you need to MAKE a somewhat competitively viable deck right? You keep the cards you need and sell the ones you don't. You're bound to still profit since you're always buying SO MANY. And then you could compete and go onto the championship path on the side which could possibly lead to other profits in prize packs or whatnot Or maybe mixing the selling and competing lifestyle cant happen in practicality.
I used to play a little bit, but not much time for it anymore, but what i do doesn't really involve cracking packs or opening the most recent sets, i buy collections of old cards and sell them 1 by 1 :)
Literally me right now. Been working at different supermarkets because I was partly a failure at school. Always tried to do my best until several years ago my mental/physical health crashed and I got very sick. Now several years later recovering and practicing extreme methods like the Wim Hof Method I have new energy I didn't know existed, because you really don't learn what true happiness, health and strength are in school. These days I'm still working at a damn supermarket, but about to start my own RUclips channel and I hope things will change in some years. I don't want a big fancy house or car, I just want to help people. It's what I always wanted. I feel the meaning of life is to share love with each other. Society and work culture nowadays is sick and IMO a big brainwasher. Very inspiring video. Keep it coming!
Hey man, Great video. Im curious, at what point in collecting did you feel comfortable switching from collecting as a hobby to turning the hobby into a profession? Was it a monetary value point? What did your collection look like when you did make this decision?
probably about 4 years of consistently selling and working, but its different for everyone, its hard to build a collection when you aren't receiving a wage, i didn't really start truly collecting until 4-5 years into selling, since i couldn't afford to keep anything.
Just bought a Japanese variant Palkia EX card from you on eBay, saw your card and started to check all your stuff out. Wasn't expecting any of this - I was stunned and impressed. Will be making future orders!
The only thing I can think of the whole time was make sure your side hustle is a few yrs in proof before jumping ship on the day job. Hopefully everything worked out & recovering
Great video my friend!!! I recently started my own small collectible business and I pray that maybe someday I can quit my day job of hard labour and pursue collecting and reselling full time!!!! That would be a dream come true!!!!
I've always suspected you were a pancake fan, especially after seeing those fluffy Japanese pancakes on your Insta. 10/10 perfect victory snack after pulling that Charizard SAR
I had watched your previous video and just realized that you were only two year older that me. Glad you have your life figure out man, i just finished school and got scammed of my first "job" which only last 3 month (combination of not having enough experience so my pay was hourly plus burning the midnight oil buying crude diesel from company with opposite timezone) which shows me how hard it is to meet end.
Think people are confused how u got here. If anyone got heavily into Pokémon before Covid, made a TON. U can’t do what he/others did now. Onyl reason him & others made it cuz, their cards almost all 100x immediately
@@PokemonSteven understand the sarcasm but, it is a true statement. It’ll basically be impossible unless you have endless capital to “randomly start selling Pokémon” cards/products starting now. The only way possible people like you who are in that position are, people who were WAAAAAAY ahead of the Covid spike. Just stating that cuz, felt like people were thinking you could do this now
Great vid stevey boy do you still get a high from waking up to seeing what sold? I just started selling last month and its a lot of fun to see a sale. also BALD
What job earns you 50k per year at the supermarket? Were you a manager or something like that? I'm going to attempt to ignorantly answer my own question, haha. I'm guessing it has to do with the actual value of the Australian dollar. 50k for working at a supermarket in the US would be a great living.
You lost me at Nutella. Then I second guessed myself. Then maple syrup got added and I'll forever hate your guts. I sincerely hope you lose the next game of paper rock scissors that you play.
What's your favourite pancake topping?
bananas!
Nutella and whipped cream 😎
I'm boring, I just like syrup 😂
P.S. love the kitty cameo!
Honestly, some sweet and savory does the trick. Fried chicken, waffles and syrup 🤤
@@erncollects that actually sounds wildly good tbh!
This hits home too hard, the reality check of "making money off pokemon". I've been there too (side hustle only) and couldn't make it. Rooting for you!

Bro honestly the USD VS AUD thing got me for a sec. I was like “$50k at a super market??” Then realized, down under. Lmao
😆 yeah 50k aud in a city in Australia is not really a liveable wage, especially now. Maybe in 2018 it was better
I love the openness man there’s an aura about you that is just relatable to those of us that are real people. You are far past just being a Pokémon youtuber. You make real content and for that I thank you brother.
no problem king, im just a normal guy that lucked out into this position haha
This is inspiring really, I started selling bulk almost a year ago and its work its way up to sending in graded cards, hardest part for me is finding quality cards
Thats why the graded ones go for so much! But I believe in you, search, search and keep searching and I'm sure you'll find some good deals
I've got so many rare cards, but can't be bothered to get them graded, so I sell em discounted on eBay
Awesome video! Favorite pancake topping is just plain ole butter.

happy for you for real, also those pancakes look delicious
They were very yummy
OK, someone needs to file a lawsuit for the criminally small amount of maple syrup that went onto those pancakes 😮
Lol I did add more
@@PokemonSteven phew 😅
This one is popping off. Deservedly so. 🚀
Lmao I guess if we make the video time under 1hr it's a good thing Dan
Great video my friend!!! I recently started my own small collectible business and I pray that maybe someday I can quit my day job of hard labour and pursue collecting and reselling full time!!!! That would be a dream come true!!!!
you are a beast, just remember its all about building max value and getting lots of items! not about making money !
Thank you bro, you're really awesome.
it takes SO lng to put stuff up on my website how do you have all of the stuff on yours?
Years of effort and work, and if I don't do it I gotta go back to the supermarket lol
I've always suspected you were a pancake fan, especially after seeing those fluffy Japanese pancakes on your Insta. 10/10 perfect victory snack after pulling that Charizard SAR
I am made of pancakes

Excellent video with genuine experiences.

Comes down to about 30k in USD. Decent pay here in Australia for retail workers but not amazing as cost of living increases
50k aud in 2018 is not very high when you live in a city, it is around 30-35k like nalydh said. Australian cost of living is very high :)
Good job Steve. -Nogun
ty
Pancakes look fire Steve!
They were so good
You are back working again
I never said I quit working 💪
What determines success? Pancakes.
a double serving
50k a year at a god damn grocery store?!?
In Australia bud, it's not that good
50k is below minimum wage in australia haha
Those pancakes need vegemite not nutella
thats disgusting
Steven eating montage, yes.
you want more?
It was too soon to quit that first time
I agree
It's insane how high paying foreign jobs are. :/
50k aud in a high cost of living city is not that insane, it's actually incredibly low unfortunately
Did she say "you ruined your own last bite?"
yes
Bro u influenced my life for the worse when you replied “poop”
Poop
another 50K+ views banger!!
Haha nah if It gets 5k I'm happy
You only fail when you stop brother.
on god
