I had permission to detect a church yard a few years ago. The church was late 19th C but the area had a post battle camp for the Army of Northern Virginia - so anything might come out of the ground. We dug dozens and dozens of memorial pennies. Later the pastor said the church hosted a Boy Scout troop and after troop meetings the boys would have "penny fights" in the church yard. They would chase each other and try to hit others with thrown pennies. We also found CW bullets, buttons, percussion caps, and a 1 Reale.
This penny thing reminds of a grumpy old man I took care of in the hospital. When he found out that I metal detect he told me a story of what he thought was funny. He watched a guy from his neighborhood metal detecting and went out and seeded the grass with tons of pennies. Lol! He really was a cranky old coot! I think the joke was on him because we just love to detect!
I always enjoy the view as DC hunts his yard. Having been there I get glimpses of the area I have trod. Love the spoon still hangs by the door and the hippie's use back door sign adorns the entrance. Those were shinning times
Hi Tinman, I remember those videos. I’ve watched all of Charlie’s videos. Stealth Diggers and every Not Thursday . Cool spoon and hippie sign. Memories……..❤️
A few years ago in Melbourne Australia, I detected 150+ one cent coins dated 1966, 67 & 68. Across the road there was an old milkbar that had been closed for a long time. I figured someone stole a bag of coins & left the one cent coins there.
Now Charlie, you have enough to go buy you and the guy's some bubble gum! I remember the first thing I found in my front yard, was a small metal fire truck! God Bless, (Glen). WV.
My guess on the rods is that they were cross rods from a conveyor belt or belts. Maybe encased in heavy cloth or something. Thanks for your great channel!
Your "yard relics" appeared to include a flywheel or flexplate, possibly two clutch discs, and a fairly large tapered roller bearing race. Connecting those with all the coins will require more imagination than I have.
I have found 5-6 Indian heads, a few early Lincolns and one V nickel, but no silver yet in my yard. The house was built about 1870-75. There seems to be a layer of cinders about 8 inches down across most of my yard which plays havoc with the detector.
Did you move there after the year 2000? Or, maybe somebody figured out where you live and just threw a mystery in the yard for you to discover. Either way, coffee money.

I, myself don't mind pennies so much, as long as they're copper and not zink.
WOW that is crazy story what and how the penny spill or toss took place.
boom let's go let's go treasure and adventure ✌👵

Charlie, they used to put pennies in the flower beds. It was supposed to be good for the soil.

Hi Charlie, great video. I enjoyed your Not Thursday backyard hunt. ❤️🙏🇺🇸
Love your channel so much! Greetings from the white mountains!
I moved into a 1890’s house with a tiny 20x20 backyard. Second hole I ever dug gave me a 1909 wheat penny. Crazy.
I remember that older video of you guys finding all those pennies. Enjoyed 👍
Thank you Charlie for the adventure , seeing some beautiful scenery of your yard and some nice finds !

Looks like someone changed a clutch and pressure plate. It might have just been someone with parts cars. Nice that you're cleaning up.

UNIQUE ---your homesite--your gift of information--your teaching skills…look for your videos

Looks like a transistor or 3 legged regulator IC.
LFOD !
Those rods look like pieces of metal they used to hold foundation forms together
Unbelievable penny finds!!
The wedge could be a rock splitter.
You never know what your own yard holds under the surface of the ground😮.
Love the video😊
Hope the walk back wasn't too grueling.
A little treasure close to home.
Jackpot!!!! Thanks, Charlie 😂!!!
Have you done Dame, Tim Wayyno's and Nate's houses maybe there's stuff there.
Now you just gotta find where they dumped the silver coins… 😊
Somebody chucked old truck or tractor parts out there lol. I saw a couple clutch discs, a flex plate, a bearing race, and a top to an oil filter.
Maybe those are not pennies but seeds for money trees that have not sprouted yet. Better put them back!
95 degrees in November in New England? When was this filmed?
Charlie, I'm Canadian, they stopped making pennies here in 2013
Just a tidbit of info for you, love your journey and your treasure findings
Adding copper pennies to your yard is helpful in stopping slugs, should use older pennies, pre 1980s because newer ones are mostly zinc
Fun change of pace! Do you think there are any coins left from past gatherings with the Colorado crew?
Ya never know 😉

A transiter

Seems like there was an equipment shed or maybe machinery for logging and you're finding the parts
@8:28 Looks like a clutch pad.
Where is the log fort you built? Did you abandon that project?
At 5:36 Wedge you find?
😂lol
Some kid chunking pennies back in the day?
thats a bad day in my book
looks as if you found someone's penny bottle
