YES! You are correct. It is the only way. I hate when very talented Magicians are forced to use this to compete with other,"street type",magic. It makes all magic lose it's credibility. But these magicians can't pass up the millions of dollars and fame that it brings them.
@leyweissy the sad thing is... he really is... and he really does. He is one of the great ones, but nowadays, nobody cares about sleight of hand or whatever. People don't want to see a ace of spades turned into a five of hearts when someone just made the statue of liberty disapear or has vanished from inside a flaming crate.
Everyone is acting. When camera pans away, real blue ball is switched for a fake dull blue shell with square inside. When he hits the shell, the square pops out and the shell rests against the rail. Notice we don't see the entire table. The other tricks are round shells over the balls. Notice we don't actually see the balls roll and we don't see his palm. Then to celebrate, they all did a bukkake on the girl with the cue stick.
Magician's worse nightmare, a fellow magician-heckler. To say that you don't "appreciate" one performer's way of pulling off the illusion is to say that you don't "appreciate" the art itself. Maybe you should reevaluate how you really feel about the art and your "appreciation" for it.
It's camera trickery and cut scenes and editing. Take a look at 5:50 onwards. Notice how the number is facing the camera (slightly to the top & right of centre). The camera pans away to look at the Japanese guy saying "I have no idea". When the camera pans back to the table at 6:03 - notice how the blue ball is slightly dull in colour and the 6 that was facing the camera has now disappeared. Camera tricks. Not a legitemate illusion.
You're right that I shouldn't heckle. And I'll watch that in the future. However I feel that cheats the audience beyond what I stand for. But you're right, that's me, my performance style. I should consider the methods of others as their own. I apologize for my ignorance.
Sorry but you really need to pay more attention. As I stated before 1325194, pause the video at 5:50 and pay close attention to the blue ball that he's about to hit. You can clearly see the number 6 and the white circle facing the camera - Yes? The camera moves away to the kid for a few seconds and then the camera moves back to Peter. But wait - look at the blue ball. It has changed to a dull blue colour and the number 6 and the white circle has compeltely disappeared. Camera Trickery.
Hey magicman513, I understand the illusion probably a lot better than you think. I'm a magician myself. Do you not notice how the camera looks away before each shot? I don't appreciate "tv" misdirection. "Camera tricks"
digitalwarfares makes a compelling argument because yeah that ball doesn't look the same color or have the numeral visible. The important take away however is proof positive the world is not round as some fools say. It's as flat as a billiards ball.
YEs great magician, but this is only done with camera tricks. He fell into the Cris Angel syndrome.not clever just movie camera tricks. That sucks,Peter Marvbologne!
No there not actors. I'm a working magician and I a sure you no editing neither not all magicians use camera tricks or editing. So quit guessing. Your not even close.
Seen this done, but he does it with such precision and dexterity. Amazing......

Not a camera trick. If you don't understand the illusion, then just sit back and enjoy...without making heckler-like comments.

I won't tell the trick but I can say that it works only on video but never in life. The audience must be involved.
