    Just got mine yesterday smiling all the way around the hills, picked it up for £3200 first e mountain bike so cannot compare to anything else but it but a smile on my face all day. I'm 56 years young so probably not setup for me correctly yet but its a learning curve next best thing to off road motorbiking. Dam town council closed all the lanes around where I live. Would definitely recommend.

    I have the 2021 model and love it-perfect utilitarian machine for those that aren’t bike snobs.

    I have this bike and I absolutely love it. No complaints other than the weight but it's an ebike so that was to be expected. I think it's a great value, especially when taking tax into consideration when going up another 600 or so bucks for the next level up bike. Tax for this added another $500 to the price. So with tax considered you'd need another 1000+ extra to upgrade a bit.
    I'm newish to the sport but I'm very happy with it so far and kind of obsessed now! 🚲🚲🚲

    I've got the same bike in Size M now for five months and I would give it 7,5 from 10 points. I don't go for heavy trails, I ride trails without drops or deep steps. But ocassionally steep up- as well downhill. The motor is perfect. I just use support mode 2 or 3 out of 5. The power is much more than sufficient. All the components are working fine and smooth except the fron brake disc there I notice some judder due to the design. Suspension reacts sensitive on front and rear. No leak of air. Minus point for me is the geometry of the rear travel: it is too progressiv. In my user profile I can never use the whole stroke. And another minus is the slightly too flat seat tube angle: dropping the seat post, the saddle moves too far to the front. All in all it is a super reliable bike with a perfect funktion and no annoying noises.

    I've had this bike for a year now and have really enjoyed it. I ride XC style trails and occasional downhill single track. I do agree the uphill can be quite slack on climbs, but i've found body position adjustments overcomes that, along with the motor. I have however found the geo pushes me a little forward and was looking at a high rise bar, but now have decided on swaping out the forks for 150mm, which will also move my weight rearward (undertanding that can impact the uphill performance)

    we have a bunch of those for rentals at work and i must say, these are really fun ! Lots of power delivery to the pedals and you can basically effortlessly go up hills no problem, makes you feel you are doing downhill going uphill. Also these bikes went threw hell and back and they still function really well. Obviously we had to change a couple of parts like the derailler and tires but besides that, these bikes rip !

    Just got a Talon e 29er. Love it. Suspension and drivetrain could be better but for 2k used on The Pros Closet it was a great deal. 👍

    Specs for the 2023 model are just out (some dealers, not on Giant website yet) but I think Giant have addressed some of your issues with the 2022 geometry. I would definitely wait a few months for the new one even if a few $100’s more…
    Nice review, as always, thanks! 👍

      I wouldn’t mess with that. It’s going to make the seat tube even slacker. Not something this bike needs.

    I have a 2021 Stance in my fleet and it's a really fun bike to ride. The lower travel setup is fun to ride on flowing trails. I do prefer my Trance on the chunky/tech stuff tho.

  • @georgejohnson-lp3qs
    @georgejohnson-lp3qs Год назад +3

    IMO at $4,200 its a good value for a solid entry level e mtn bike. Sure for $1400 more you can get a better handling bike for aggressive technical riding but the question is do you need it? It comes down to knowing yourself and your goals. And anyway if you do grow out of it and become a full on dust eater than at that point you are gonna have a clear idea about what you need and it will probably be a $8-9000 bike. Plus tech is changing so fast in 3-5 years all the bikes will be outdated so you will be upgrading anyway.

      People tend to overbuy on their first e-bike, ride it a few times and sell it at a loss of thousands of dollars. This seems like a good buy if you’re not a hardcore rider and just want to get out and have some fun on the cheap.

    • @BikersEdgeKaysville
      @BikersEdgeKaysville  Год назад +2

      You're not wrong. A lot of folks will be completely happy on a bike like this. Being honest what the bike is about and what you actually ride is the best step for buying the right bike.

      I have this bike it's great and in the UK you got to spend a fair bit more to step up . For me it's eaten everything l have put it through so no complaints handling is light and fun great bike, you got to have some skills and commitment to need more in my view

    How about the value proposition as it’s on sale right now for about $4200? Looking to buy my first ebike and that price is very tempting.

    • @BikersEdgeKaysville
      @BikersEdgeKaysville  Год назад

      The quality of the bike doesn't change. As long as you know what the limitations are and you're happy with that then yes the value gets a bit better at 4200.

      @@BikersEdgeKaysville I ended up buying the Trance X E+ 3. I decided a trail bike was better for my riding. My wife bought the Embolden E+ which is the same as the Stance. She will never do more than a blue trail and wanted something comfortable on the greenway and the low price sold her.
