We as Black Americans have been through and are still going through a unique situation. With the purposeful destruction of the black family dynamic. We have to take into consideration the trauma created and untreated. I tell people to have uncomfortable conversations with your significant other. Also, we are looking for unconditional love with a list of conditions. Standards are good to have but nowadays people tap dance on the line of standards and conditions. Once more the conditions list will have all but one character trait. Whether we like it or not we are in a state of repair. And have been for some time now. So, I believe that it's expected considering the conditions our people are in (mental, psychological, emotional) to have to teach each other how to love one another. Too many people like the idea of love but they don't really know what it actually looks like.
