Good morning Pappy, what a Beautiful building on the 30th street station . They don't make train stations like this anymore, Thank you for sharing 👍 😎 Darrell
Good morning Darrell, they sure don't, and that's sad, the architecture was amazing. Wish we didn't just slap up boring squares for buildings. And go back to beautiful places like this. Glad you enjoyed it..
Pretty neat. I liked the PRR symbol too. Always a treat to watch your home movies my friend. Thanks for all you do to provide us with great variety. ❤️😊👍
Lol I was thinking of you when I seen the PRR logo 🤣🤣 I brought you another location, so glad you enjoyed it Dave and always appreciate you taking the time to stop by..
Great video of the 30th Street Station in Philadelphia! Place is beautiful inside and shows they keep it in tip top shape. Nice catch of the AMTRAK GEEPS! I'm a BIG FAN of the GEEPS and the EMD MP15's as I've probably already told you lol. Thanks again PAPPY for another great video! Cheers from Delmar, Delaware
You didn’t disappoint me Pappy! That’s a great place. And mmmmmmm Acela goodness ❤❤❤! The GP38 was kool and you got a peek in the cab😮! Your fishing prowess is strong. Thanks again for sharing Pappy!
🤣🤣🤣 fishing prowess, I like that 😃 yeah wish I could have gotten closer to the Acela. But they were watching me like a hawk. The GP 38s were cool wish I was in the other end when it took off.. so glad you enjoyed it Eric. Appreciate you
I stopped thru here when I visited Jerry in September. I wish I had more time then to meet up with ya. So if you see another video out soon with Jerry in it. It was from September. Sucks I was that close to ya.. appreciate you watching. Thats twice I missed ya..
I’ve lived in the Philly area my whole life and have never been inside the station. Driven under it and my O scale Club Cherry Valley has a nice model of it on our layout but never seen the inside. Thanks for posting
Very welcome Douglas, I too am the same way, I have things I drive by constantly and never stop at but I'll drive 7 hours to see something else 😀 I think we all do it.. it was a beautiful station, thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it
Wow that place is absolutely beautiful! That’s was awesome you got to see them Geep 38’s linking up. One of these days Pappy I’m gonna ride a passenger train, I’d like to do Pittsburgh to NYC. Thanks for taking us along Pappy👍🏼😁🇺🇸🎄
Very welcome Stretch, I'm with you, one of these days I'm gonna ride amtrak as well, but I don't have a clear trip in mind, just wanna go some where, wish I was on the other end of the 38s when they took off. Appreciate you watching, glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks Jerry, it's a nice station. I tryed to get every place I could. But yeah the amtrak cops watched my every move. And I had the staion manager, with his permission, watching me get the acela. Wouldn't let me go past the glass door.. to the platform. But it was cool and glad he let me do that. Thanks for watching. If you're up that way it's nice to see But I wouldn't make a special trip...
When I was High School, I had taken tour of CTEC system up on the second or third floor. Man, it look like the planetarium with Track diorama for Mutiple train lines. Of course, Today CTEC MOVED operation down to Delaware. It's amazing how Amtrak can manage the entire Eastcoast from a single location. Maybe New York covers all points north of Trenton NJ, but it's how Trains are dispatched from Delaware.
Wow, I bet that was amazing to see. I'm always baffled how they keep it all straight.. all the trains running and switch points they have to monitor with out incident just blows your mind.. thank you, I appreciate you watching
30th Street Station is almost an exact copy of Pennsylvania Station in Manhattan which opened in 1910. I am a New Yorker who grew up in NYC during the Mad Men era of the 1960s. 😊
@@luislaplume8261 that's cool, maybe some day I can get up there to Manhattan to check it out.. this is such beautiful architecture. They don't build things like this anymore. We lost our touch, now it's all plywood and plaster.. such a shame.. appreciate this comment and you watching..
@@TriGogglin The Pennsylvania Railroad Station of today is now called Penn Station. It is underneath Madison Square Garden and it is more like a big subway station.😱🥴
Rats, nope not in the area no more. But 8 do thank you for this info. I'll look that up next time I'm out yhat way.. thanks Douglas. Really appreciate you watching and this info

Thanks Matt, It was a cool place, wasn't busy while I was there, but I bet it is in the daylight. Thanks for watching
The Spirit of Transportation sculpture was created in 1895. In the lower right corner is a little boy with something that looks like an airplane.
Thank you, I'll take a closer look, it's a beautiful station. appreciate the comment and you watching.
Really good video, as usual. Thanks Pappy! Take care - Bill.
Thank you Bill, I did the best I could for the limited space I was allowed to roam. Very glad you enjoyed it. And appreciate you watching

wonder if they ever had so many people in there that they had to have all the ticket booth open
For sure Dwight, back in the day train travel was the thing. Was probably packed with people coming and going from the big city..
If you’re still in the Philly area there is a great train store called Nicholas Smith trains in Broomall PA just outside the city limits
